Nice addition for your information, it doesn't add much for me (yet).
As for the values ... most of it is out of the blue. Take, for example, the recent years of Donald Duck. There, the new price is entered as a value, which is complete nonsense. And so there are countless examples, where the initial price is often entered by sellers ...

@metalfigures:
Look at this, I mean, a disscussion about nothing.
@metalfigures:
to remove the box catalog value and make the average value the catalog value.
funny, then the calculation formula again takes care of what the average will be.
I saw a stamp with a stamped value of 22.50 euros, the average value according to the calculation formula was 6.50
I don't see the point in knowing this, other than that a buyer might benefit from this, which gives him a market mentality that makes him not want to spend more than what is stated as average and preferably still there half of.
If I had a nice copy and I ask 10 euros of the 22.50, I don't want to be asked whether it can be bought for 6.50, because the average price is only 6.50. which may also be lower due to the calculation formula.
I can remove this info, so there is no more discussion.

@metalfigures:
@aartinge:
As administrators I think you should be happy that the catalog wiki (as long as it is not filled in) would go away because utopian prices were set in the past and, for example, only picked up by an administrator 5 years later.
@metalfigures:
It doesn't really matter to me. I do find it relaxing to check whether a certain value is correct or utopian. At the same time, I think that overvaluation is more common in some collection areas than in others.
Also in some collection areas, items are offered for a very low price, because people want to get rid of their collection quickly. That is the danger of the new system. But rather too low than too high, as far as I'm concerned. If the pricing on LD is reasonable, it may also attract more customers.
One problem remains (also reflected in feedback) and that is when we sell items, we ourselves give the condition / value to the item and that allocation is very often not shared by others (which one finds a good condition , another thinks a reasonable statement) but that has nothing to do with this system and is a completely different discussion.
To be honest, I think that the descriptions of the states do not leave a lot of space. I fear that it is often a matter of doing honest business or less honest business.
Look at this, I mean, a disscussion about nothing.
@aartinge:
Maybe you should choose not to respond .

@Martinel, I don't care about list prices, so I'm not going to waste my time on it. There are more meaningful things to do.
Comparing the "Catalog values" with "the (average) revenues at Last Dodo shops" I think is comparing apples to oranges at the moment.
The Catalog Values are / are partly based on sales prices at regular comic shops, auctions and other sales channels, while the Revenues at Last Dodoshops (the name says it all) are exclusively based on the sales prices (whether or not from a distant past) shops.
With the current shop rules, the average revenue last Dodoshops will not exceed € 75, while a Catalog value (and actual sales value) can be much higher.
As long as the maximum shop selling price of € 75 is used, the new information block will only cause confusion in my opinion. Especially for those who think that sales only go through Last Dodoshops :-).

@Trigopolis:
@Trigopolis:
The Catalog Values are / are partly based on sales prices at regular comic shops, auctions and other sales channels, while the Revenues at Last Dodoshops (the name says it all) are exclusively based on the sales prices (whether or not from a distant past) shops.
@Trigopolis:
It was once agreed that in principle we assume a realistic sales price for the catalog values. The regular (strip) shops are often looking for that one crazy one and the prices are (much?) Higher than a realistic price (which I also understand, they have to live from it). You shouldn't really include those selling prices.
With the current shop rules, the average revenue last Dodoshops will not exceed € 75, while a Catalog value (and actual sales value) can be much higher.
@Trigopolis:
I really don't understand this argument. When LastDodo was still Catawiki. you were supposed to have items over € 75 up for auction at a specialized auction run by Catawiki. That hasn't changed!
@Vertigo
@Vertigo
My experience is that the "Catalog value" is / will be adjusted on the basis of prices of items still available in the regular trade and / or results achieved in the auctions. In itself I think that is a good way to determine a real and current value that is nothing wrong with.
The problem with the values at "Revenues Lastdodoshops" is precisely that the results of the Catawiki auctions are not included. With the current maximum sales limit of € 75 at the shops, the highest value at "Lastdodoshops revenues" will therefore be a maximum of € 75.
An exception to this is for shop items that were sold for more than $ 75 before the maximum sales limit of $ 75 was set. Then the values at "Revenues Lastdodoshops" can be above € 75.

@Trigopolis:

@Trigopolis:
That may be your experience, but it's still not good. Including auction proceeds is fine, including prices of items that are still available in regular trade is not the agreement. I will take notice of what you think of this.
The problem with the values at "Revenues Lastdodoshops" is precisely that the results of the Catawiki auctions are not included. With the current maximum sales limit of € 75 at the shops, the highest value at "Lastdodoshops revenues" will therefore be a maximum of € 75.

Bedankt voor jouw aanvulling! Nooit geweten.

@Fazerco:
Thank you for your addition! Never knew.
My experience is that the "Catalog value" is / will be adjusted on the basis of prices of items still available in the regular trade and / or results achieved in the auctions. In itself I think that is a good way to determine a real and current value that is nothing wrong with.
Another addition:
To calculate the replacement value, you must use the prices of the items available in regular trade. What do you have to pay if you want to replace an item in a short time = replacement value. Often equal to the insurance value.
@Vertigo

https://www.lastdodo.nl/items/654367-europa-folklore
@Aarting I don't understand that it's confusing, it's clear, I just got the first stamp from your shop.
https://www.lastdodo.nl/items/654367-europa-folklore
list price MNH 0.90 > maybe in 2010, not realistic now
your price MNH 0.15 > 2021 now realistic
the new system average MNH 0.13 > 2021 now realistic
And of course there are also sellers who offer it for 0.04 to 0.45, but that is the freedom of sale.
Catalog block is more of a block to the bone.

@metalfigures:
@metalfigures:
I think it is unnecessary information as a seller that there is a calculation in the picture that reflects what you think is a realistic price.
if I order those 2 series of 0.04 cents from those sellers, the calculation might be 0.07 cents, but then the sellers who want to sell them for 0.40 remain, and if they sell them again, the average goes price back to 0.25 cents. so what is realistic now.
But in terms of screen with all that information I find confusing, for a buyer it might be interesting, but it was not necessary for me as a seller.
It also gives the impression that a seller who offers that series for 0.45 cents is far too expensive, compared to the average of 0.13 cents, while there is a sales freedom
I just don't know whether we should be so happy with this extra information, after all, in the catalog of 2021 this series is 0.80 cents, so that 0.13 is unrealistic, it is only a calculation about sales, and therefore not at all added value regarding the lastdodo catalog.

@Trigopolis:
Stay empty? I don't get that.
See as an example the "Revenues Lastdodo" with this item with values higher than € 75.
@Trigopolis:
If no sales proceeds are known, the item is not included. See for example no. 402409 .
Your example lists sales that are more than 8 years old. You cannot conclude that they reflect the correct value.
Incidentally, the question is what the values stated for the catalog value are based on. In any case, the value in good condition seems a bit on the high side.
I think it's a good addition. It is great that existing data becomes available in this way.
Lastdodo is a catalog and a trading place, these two sides become more prominent with this addition due to the differences due to the similarities.
People are engaged / involved in Lastdodo in their own way. Data, data, information about the user is colored by his / her way of involvement.
So that can differ enormously. That's great.
Thank you René and developers.
@vertigo
@vertigo
If no sales proceeds are known, the section is not included. For example, see No. 402409 .
I know, but I wasn't talking about that. I only indicated that for some items the values "Income from Lasdodoshops" can be higher than € 75.00. You responded to this that the section will not be included and I did not understand that.
Your example lists sales that are more than 8 years old. You cannot conclude from that that they reflect the correct value.
I don't draw that conclusion either. Unless by "you" you actually meant "men". My example with a shop sale from more than 8 years ago shows all the more that the values "Revenues Lastdodoshops" sometimes do not add much value and can cause confusion for laymen.
Incidentally, the question is what the values stated with the catalog value are based on. In any case, the value in good condition seems a bit on the high side.
Changes to a Catalog Value are reviewed and adjusted based on informed pricing suggestions. So that doesn't just happen. Value good condition is 50% of value new condition. At the moment an album in new condition is on the Catawiki auction with the highest bid of € 500. https://www.catawiki.nl/l/44639689-blake-mortimer-13-de-zaak-blake-hardcover-eerste-belgische- edition-1996

@Trigopolis:
Verrassend!
Welke editie is nu eigenlijk gewaardeerd?
Ik ga nu andere dingen doen. Take care!

The Good Condition Catalog Value of that item is apparently not on the high side.
@Trigopolis:
Surprising! It seems like an outlier. I think there is a corona effect.
But this value was introduced much earlier. And I'm not convinced that the album was worth this price at the time. The rule good condition = 50% of the new price is a theoretical approximation. I don't believe the real value of this item in good condition is € 250.
I also notice that the item is a bit clumsily included in the catalog. It is stated that the edition of 620 exx. exists, but it is not. There are 3 editions: 2 of 300 copies and a small edition of 20, presumably intended for the authors. Of course you have to record these editions separately. Otherwise it is confusing for laymen and non-laymen. It seems that the 2 editions of 300 pcs have different covers. Which edition is actually appreciated?
I'm going to do other things now. Take care!

@metalfigures: I think a market value has nothing to do with a catalog value.
a market value is determined by traders who offer everything for an apple and an egg, resulting in the average price that is now visible. like that 0.13 cents.
The moment you would take that average price (market value) as catalog value, those stamps will only be sold for 1 cent.
This means that the trade value is used to realize a catalog price.
This is manipulation, so that it looks like those stamps are worth nothing anymore.
1000s of retailers suffer from this in daily life.
Look at clothing, a retailer pays 100% = catalog value
and the market trader only pays 30% = market value, but this is also market trade with Wfoutjes / Bkeuzes. but the consumer does not see that
Also the shops here have this same problem, the price is screwed up by traders, a stamp just has a certain value, but this is now influenced by a calculation caused by those traders.
but in fact I just don't want to know this, I don't think it's an addition to start thinking differently.

I think it is blunt, to put everything together, and you are wrong there because the new system also shows the highest price that has been paid for it.
a stamp just has a certain value,
How is that value determined? You haven't answered that yet.

@ How is that value determined?
By supply and demand.
And that's with any product, be it a pair of shoes or a sheet of stamps.
Why is it that years ago the stamps of Indonesia were so plummeted,
then you could buy the stamps for 17% on the stamp markets.

That is what I also say, on markets or marketplace, so traders.
the value is actually just determined what is in the catalog. and if there are traders in between those numbers by selling for lower prices, then an average price goes down as is done in the calculation, but that does not mean that value less.
Look what is happening here is the fact that everyone is offering everything cheaper to apparently get a customer, which gives rise to the idea that everything is getting cheaper, and therefore the value is also falling, but all of this has nothing to do with the value to create.

It seems to me that there is a lot of supply and little demand, so that the value falls, but of course also the other way around, so with high demand the value increases.
I am now only more behind the new system AND through supply and demand it has an immediate effect on the system, maybe that is not always beneficial for the sellers and it is for buyers (I am also a seller but I have this way absolutely no problems with that), it is in my opinion a fair price whatever a list price should be.
I am always open to new insights, that's the beauty of a discussion, for me this discussion has not brought new insights and that's where this discussion ends for me.
