I regularly come across that, for example, comics are offered as near mint or good condition when, for example, there is a number on the cover or name. Makes them look better at first sight. Top seller list, to the detriment of other sellers.

That's not how it works in the seller list for an item. I don't know which algorithm is used, but I also have news states that do not appear in that immediately visible short list. Only when you expand 'all sellers' you will also see everything...

Stylo of bib is sowieso redelijke staat.
Hey Morits. That too, but not in the case of some offers, then they will all be shown. I would also like to know algorithm, maybe based on some reviews, then these will probably be more real shops. I also don't think it's fair that nothing can be done about incorrectly marked condition. Stylo or bib is in fair condition anyway.

You can just ask the seller a question about the condition.

It is best to ask the seller a question about the item in his shop (that the condition is not correct and with a request to choose the correct condition). That works the fastest and you immediately hear the reaction of the seller. I also think that most sellers will adjust it.

Bijna nieuwstaat
Slechte staat
This discussion does indeed come up regularly.
Just to be sure, with every catalog item there is an explanation of the conditions used:
Just to be sure, with every catalog item there is an explanation of the conditions used:
New condition
The strip is in every respect as new without any wear. The strip is still in perfect condition. There should be absolutely no signs of use.
Near mint condition
The strip is in near perfect condition. There are some light signs of use such as a minor, almost invisible dent, crease or (shallow) scratch.
Good condition
There are normal signs of use but the strip has no serious damage or clearly visible wear.
Fair condition
Small damage allowed: fold, small tear, small piece missing from spine, faded/faded spine, writing text and stamps on endpapers and the like. Strips with staples or holes from staples (for example, ex-reading binder strips) and ex-library strips are never in a better condition than "fair condition"; not even if they otherwise look very good.
Bad condition
The strip is seriously damaged or incomplete. Perhaps interesting as a reading copy. Only very rare comics in this condition have collector value.

It does matter, the age of a comic, but certainly the exterior and interior of a comic. Come on, I no longer have them in numbers, I had 200 HC Tintins with a dash and/or a number, The Flemish series of Suske with numbers at the top or a name on an endpaper. But otherwise beautiful. That's not just reasonable as quality. Yes, perhaps a prospective buyer who refers to a list in reasonable. "There's a number on it, there's a name in it, oh come on. Reasonable points to a completely different quality. And now honestly say the description with what is good, that is now the baldest description on the list. And that's what Dieter's question is about. I have some Tintins also with names, but very beautiful. I won't offer them as reasonable. But apparently not as good either, because then I get on my .. from LD.

Just according to the definitions of LD , also with books , I do not have a leg to stand on about a book or comic which I see as good + , but I can say that perhaps that definition of well looked at may become. But just for an example, is a book not relevant :
#6789839 Do I have to because there is a name in this edition from 1929 that actually looks like printed yesterday give an orange color ? Mint condition is not okay, almost new condition does not have books (a loss) but can it please be good? Because reasonable is really something else: Minor damage is allowed: fold, name inscribed with pen, small piece of the spine is gone, etc. (what do we mean by etc stains, tears)

That explanation of the conditions used is included with the catalog value, but when you enter an item in your Shop you are not referred to those definitions. That might make sense, as a reminder. Possibly with a warning that sellers who systematically estimate the Condition too high may expect repercussions.
I also find the descriptions at Boeken very strict. Mint is always new, but a name on an endpaper does not necessarily reduce an older book from good to fair, as far as I'm concerned.

I think @Harry56 has a point here... For me personally, good condition (for books/comics) means that the book is undamaged on the outside and inside (spine still intact, pages still on the book block, no grease or drinking stains) a name (you often see that in the inside of the cover) I don't think it is necessarily damaged.

Boekenmagazijn, ik voel me nu juist aangesproken. Goed bedoeld ?
Bookstore, I just feel addressed. However, I try to take advantage of the quality formula through the Forum. But with many subjects I notice that if you open something you quickly get a lid on your nose, Rene knows me well enough, I thought, but then being pontifically put in a corner that goes a long way. And then at a certain point it is silence when a discussion is silenced. May I ask what the added value is of a cut sentence from my speech. Well-meant ?

I just wanted to point out that in practice you don't have to be afraid that you will have problems with it. That even applies to sellers who deliberately abuse it to get their offer higher in the list. And those sellers are Dieter's business, of course, not users like you and me who go out of their way to act with integrity. It is not about literal compliance with the rules (on which you can indeed disagree), but the prevention of excesses.

Difficult to compare apples to oranges, and for me to price as a layman. I may also be too strict.

Thorgal57 you are absolutely right, photos or scans and a good description is the core of the offer. However, this is also about checking the quality. As a buyer (I sometimes buy something) I rarely click when I'm looking for something (we'll just stick to books and comic books) on fair and never on bad condition. So if a seller is obliged to choose the quality reasonably just because there is a name or a number and the book or album is beautiful in appearance, that is food for discussion for me. As a seller you are selling yourself short and buyers would rather skip something that is a good collectible album or book. For example, look at the 1st edition of Tintin Tibet, there is a nice album as reasonable and an equally beautiful (fractional) as good. Yesterday I also went through my own offers, where a reminder about quality is good for, I have already set a few to reasonable. I know collectors who never buy comic books with a name in them. No beautiful Tintins either.... I've had them at home with a choice between 2 equal albums, regardless of the price or the lesser condition. But that does not mean that such an album with a signature is only reasonable. For some yes, but not for many others.
