There is something to be said for both arguments.
If you create a photo gallery by year of release, you will see the development over the years of construction qualities, design, materials used, etc. in the model car. Although you may miss a lot of years of model car release now, the beginning is here and it will only get better.
But if you make a gallery by year of the 1 on 1 car, you can see exactly what Bleuberry indicates the evolution from the very first cars to the current cars.
See as an example a Volkswagen Karmann Ghia from Lego issued in 1962 or that same car in a Maisto tuning version from 2008.
In the gallery in order of year of issue they are miles apart and you can see the evolution of the model car. built.
I think there will be many collectors who would like to choose from both options.
One time to view all issues of a particular year and the other to view a particular model or type of car from, say, 1975.

René, the problem is this: the manufacturing years of the model cars are almost impossible to trace (I myself have been searching the internet for dozens of hours). The result is that almost everywhere the year is now marked “unknown”; and sorting by year makes little sense…
If you sort by year of manufacture of the 1: 1 car, the slideshow will show you the development / design of cars over the years. And that seems to me, personally, a great perspective!

No, unfortunately we haven't gotten around to better sorting options yet.
But I'm still looking at the photo gallery. Do you mean that instead of the year of the model car, you want to see the year of production of the 1: 1 car in the photo gallery? I just think it's more interesting for model car collectors to see the year of issue of the model car itself, right? Even though it may take a while before we all have them.
Or maybe I don't understand the question correctly?
You're right. With some manufacturers it is difficult to find out in which year a car was issued. It is also often difficult for the person who places the item, it is not on the bottom of the car or on the box and in which year did I buy it new again?
But with the 1: 1 cars you can find this a little easier by “google” and (sorry for the advertising!) or is it already in the Van Dale as a verb?

Is there already insight into the expansion of the sorting options?
It strikes me that determining the production year of the model car is more difficult to indicate than the production year of the 1: 1 car.
MB (Mint and Boxed)
“Model in absolutely top condition, in original pakage. (Practically New). These are usually sold at their 100% price, often set by collectors and the known market value of that particular model.
“M (Mint)
Model in perfect condition but not necessarily boxed. 60-80% value.
NM (Near Mint)
Model with minor traces of age or usage. 50-60% value.
VSC (Very slightly Chipped)
Model with minor defects in paint and or parts. About 50% value.
SC (Slightly Chipped)
Model with clearly visible defects in paint and or parts, but still in good overall condition and all parts present. 30-50% value.
C (Chipped)
Model with major defects in the paint and or parts, but with its major parts still present. These are sold at 20-30% value
AT (Almost Trash)
Model with major defects in the paint and one or more major parts missing, such as doors, wheels etc. 0-20% value.
The thumbnail world uses a different coding for the condition of the model. Perhaps it is an option to adopt this coding:
MB (Mint and Boxed)
“Model in absolutely top condition, in original pakage. (Practically New). These are usually sold at their 100% price, often set by collectors and the known market value of that particular model.
M (Mint) - Model in perfect condition but not necessarily boxed. 60-80% value.

VSC (Very Slightly Chipped)
Model with minor defects in paint and or parts. About 50% value.
SC (Slightly Chipped)
Model with clearly visible defects in paint and or parts, but still in good overall condition and all parts present. 30-50% value.
C (Chipped) - Model with major defects in the paint and or parts, but with its major parts still present. These are sold at 20-30% value
AT (Almost Trash)

PietS
and what about the scales 1:10 and 1: 8? These should also be added. Incidentally, I miss the option: “different”. Does not seem desirable to me, but then as many scales as possible should be included.

Deze zijn toegevoegd.
These have been added.
Martijn
Each model car has its own scale. Now this is selectable in the catalog when a new item is added, only you can choose from the most common ones. A suggestion to also add the scales 1:55 (Siku) and 1:60 (Matchbox and Majorette) because these are very common miniatures. And maybe it is something to be able to select a line with “deviating” if your scale is not listed.

The intention was where it was produced. I have added an explanation to the entry form and named the label “Country of production model car”. Do you think there is also a need for an extra field for production country original model?

O.a. kunnen sorteren of meerdere velden, per rubriek instelbaar. Nog even geduld dus.
We are in the process of thoroughly tackling the sorting options. A.o. can sort or multiple fields, adjustable per category. So be patient.

Can you just see if it is possible to sort by "first year of production car"

I think there is some confusion about this. the subject "country". Is this the nationality of the manufacturer of the model or the country where the original model was / is being produced?
