Just important doing? Just like the term 'Rare' likes to be used. Add to that the excessive use of exclamation marks. Independent texts are written at an auction from an auction house. Apparently it was consciously chosen to do things differently on Catawiki, and then of course you get these kinds of things.

yes, but at an auction house you have to hand in your things to them and they assess and describe the items, so this cannot be otherwise done via the internet than it is now

Is that why I perhaps said that it was consciously chosen? (;-)

But it does not prevent Catawiki from compiling a list of 'forbidden words' ...

Rare, exceptional, very or very, very in addition, not in the market or such terms should therefore be treated with caution.

Counting exclamation marks is an option, but it is very difficult to distinguish an ordinary from an exaggerated one. That remains human work.

Probably nothing is wrong, however, this requires an adjustment for placing lots at the auction.

Koper today has his Blake & amp; Have Mortimer viewed and compared with another copy. The conclusion is that it is a very nice spine and definitely wants to keep the book.

So the seller has delivered a good book and the buyer includes a very nice book in his collection.

It should be noted that the seller has acted as a guarantee against the buyer (I)

that if necessary, the purchase can be canceled with a refund.

Therefore: in serious cases this can also become the norm for catakiki QUALITY.

After all, as a buyer via the internet in good faith, you must pay in advance.

A seller's hallmark or the like. could also be an idea?

Due to the increasing supply, which means that selection takes more time and a short period of illness, the pre-publication of the new comic auction is 1 day later. The 8th auction is now again published and is like a warehouse full of valuables.

This time extra attention for:

Old French editions of Tintin / Tintin
Old wooden Tintin puzzles
Various first editions of Suske en Wiske
Buck Danny's
Blake & amp; Mortimer old and new editions
Thorgal 17 and The Mini People 41 have become relatively rare for a variety of reasons

Spirou and Fantasio in first editions
The particularly beautiful boxes of Zoo1 and Zoo2
Several original pages, including Archie, Bessy, De Rode Ridder
Old complete series like Bionda de Pantervrouw and Heroic albums
Several complete new series, Cosa Nostra, Capricornus, Bosliefje
De Avonden luxury set
Vae Victis! hardcover set

Very special is the lot with 100 Spirou collectibles

We end with the 1st De Baeke edition of S & amp; W De bokkerijders

These are now the so-called viewing days of the auction. Questions etc. about the auction and the lots can be directed to the auctioneer.

The auction will open for bids on Friday at 12:00 noon and the closing is as usual from Monday at 8:00 pm.

Good luck and have fun.

A small Detail de Porto costs. Of course everyone is free to take fantasy prices for this and has personally kept me from bidding on certain comics.

A year of Donald Duck is sent for € 8.89, a comic to the same Country for € 25.00 and there are more examples.

By the way, curious about the final price of the French Tin Tin.

Why is there no mandatory state mention in the subtitle for the French Tintins. Offer at least good condition from now on? Last week top prices were paid for new states, it seemed clear to me.

Gijsbrecht will not be there! So no opening either. Catawiki makes good money from me, but I am very grateful to them.

I think I added that comment from Thorgal number 17 to the item a while ago. I had heard that news when I bought that album at a comic book store, I believe in Hoorn. So not sure if that story is true, but if a comic shop owner says so ...

If that yields a lot, then I am also very happy, because I then bought 2 of them.

Flipje the "fruibaaje" of Tiel) has a fair amount of photos, but the description is seriously lacking. The Specials of the catalog item states "Valuation depends on the strips present in the album". Then you can expect a complete list of all available series and numbers, right ?!

And I don't want to get personal, but it is striking that the lots of Barabas in particular are quite disastrous when you pay attention to spelling, capitalization and punctuation. And advertising other originals for sale (lot 115) in "our beautiful comic shop" (lot 120) doesn't seem very appropriate in an auction like this one.

I see (partly) adjusted now. As an interested bidder, I am still not very happy with the description " plus some incomplete series". There can be 12 series in the 3 albums, there are 6 complete series in it, what is the rest? Details !!!

The auction page now loads much faster, and in one go. The clip art pop-up has also been improved, making browsing the photos much easier. (You no longer have to look up the arrow every time with different sized images, you can just keep clicking on the photo at random.

The auction page now loads much faster, and in one go.

Glad it has already fallen. We did indeed upgrade our software this morning which makes the page much faster and also fixes the problems with older versions of browsers.

This is a much better basis for adding an abbreviated lot list that also immediately shows where you have the highest bid, have been outbid or whether you want to follow because it interests you.

whole improvement you still notice that with the scroll button of the mouse it does not go as fast as normal as for example in the rest of Catawiki, but that is negligible

so it is a pleasure to watch everything

Minor technical problem with lots that consist of more than 1 catalog item.

If you click on one of those items you will get such a nice popup window, but if you want to view a "Larger photo" in that window you will get the message "This image could not be loaded".

Incidentally, the entire page with 120 lots loads (the first time) within 5 seconds!

You might have thought of it yourself, but I was just wondering something.

The current auction contains some French-language items, which may also be of interest in France. Will there be a translation of the auction, or at least of the instructions for bidders, for non-Dutch users? The strictly Dutch interpretation may be an obstacle for (wealthy) foreign collectors to make a bid.

That is the intention, but unfortunately we have not got around to it yet. The point remains that the descriptions of lots are in principle not translated unless the sellers supply them in more languages.

If I had something special to auction, I would have the lot description translated into Chinese, if necessary, if that would increase the chance of a higher yield.

I have tried to have the following terms translated into Chinese for you:

- Rare

- From a small family without children

- Residual stock

Unfortunately the forum does not accept Chinese characters. The translation program did indicate that they have no word for 'family' in China. Strange though, with the one-child policy in mind ... (;-)
