Bijzonderheden

This token was issued by the British Copper Company, a Welsh based company who, in 1808, bought the Walthamstow site beside the River Lea.
Walthamstow is now a suburb of north east London.
Lucius Junius Brutus, one of the first two consuls of Rome, was said to have killed two of his sons who were plotting to restore the monarchy of the Tarquins. Thus Lucius Junius Brutus became a hero for patriotism and freedom.
