In a report of the German magazine DER SPIEGEL (Page 136, Number 22, 1995), Peter Winter, a known stamp forger, admitted that he invented the card. It was printed by Novacard, located in Oldenbourg. It was not possible to use the cards as neither units nor any other data could be saved on the card itself. The card was not produced by the GDR. There are several mistakes which confirm this: - the spike of the hammer points to the left, not to the right. - the hinge of the compass does not exceed the right leg - the bottom ribbon does not have any folds - the three lower ribbons show wrong national colours - the upper garland of corn is not black-red-golden - on both sides of the garland of corn, a broken ear is missing - the correct abbreviation would be MfS instead of MFS.
