Tiffin Metal Products, of Tiffin, Ohio, was founded in 1903 as The Tiffin Art Metal Company and manufactured stamped ornamental steel ceiling panels. In 1927 the manufacture of billboards became a mainstay of the company and remains so today. Tiffin Metal’s products, over the years, have included military shell casings and barracks fire buckets, high-reach boom trucks, cabs for construction and agricultural equipment, coin operated lockers, axles for travel trailers, parcel lockers, and sidearm lockers. The most recent addition to the product line is “Work Seats” Industrial Seating, a sophisticated line of functionally designed workstations. The company began as a locally stock owned company and remained so until the mid 1950's when it was purchased by Springfield-Green Industries. Since that time Tiffin Metal Products has changed hands many times until 1980 when the company once again became a privately held entity.
