As the first 100% Ford developed truck and engine combination, the forward control Thames Trader was a landmark vehicle for the Ford’s Dagenham factory and contributed largely to Ford becoming the No. 1 commercial vehicle producer by the mid 1960’s. Tankers transported petroleum products, milk, industrial chemicals, naphta and bitumen by-products of gas works. This particular model has a mild steel tank fitted to a Thames Trader 5 ton chassis.
