I think you had asked that question before for 2 items now removed from the Catalog regarding Software that do not represent Games. Were the images bad or were they really lost in the rearrangements?
I also have such software and place them for now under the heading Other with the object CD-Rom. In your case it will be DVD-Rom, CDi or UMD. After all, they are not DVDs with movies on them, nor software with games.
I believe I have a CD with a CDi song from Countdown, I believe and a CDi with a Mad Dog McCree game. Encyclopedia could be listed under theme.
Is it possible to add CDi and UMD (Universal Media Disc) to the media?
Yes, but not without the managers of that section indicating that they want this.
And in addition, where do we place Interactive Software such as Encyclopedias? With DVD or should there be a separate section for it?
In theory, it is also possible with the books, because you also have audiobooks there.
But the book managers will have to speak out about that again.

As far as I am concerned, software will stay with Other.
CDi and UMD are added as a carrier. Was more in demand and also released normal movies with interactive extras.

- Around Atlanta
- Dit was 1994, 1995...
- USA '94 World Cup
- Xplora 1 Peter Gabriel
- ...
Thanks Arwin, I lost track of it a bit, sorry for the late response.
I have my reservations about placing it under 'Other'. Experience shows that unless there is a vision for the future for a future 'full' column, it will be a forgotten pit.
Then I ask myself: what could that vision of the future be in this case? A section 'Software'? But such CDs are actually not covered. You have titles such as:
- Around Atlanta
- This was 1994, 1995 ...
- USA '94 World Cup
- Xplora 1 Peter Gabriel
- ...
In short : Until there is a solid final solution, I think it is better to stick them with the Video Games. I think that's the first place collectors look for CDis. Stand at Ebay them also at Video Games.
I would create a Genre 'Other' so that they stay together and can later be guided to their final place together.
PS. This does not belong directly here, so I also have a new topic created with Video Games.
I have my reservations about posting it under 'Other'.
You can also say a lot about that indeed.
But I said:
In theory it is also possible with the books, because you also have audiobooks there.
But the book managers will have to speak out about that again.
Book super administrator, and co-administrator at other Arco, then responds with:
As far as I am concerned, software will stay with Other.
So then I transfer it to other.
Otherwise I would have loved to put him in the books
Leaving the games on was not an option in my opinion.
Experience shows that unless there is a vision for the future for a future 'full' column, it will be an oblivion.
I still have to clear it all up then you will see more logic coming into it.
Apart from managing, I am now first busy with cleaning up and adjusting other sections, so it is not really happening yet.
Then I ask myself: what could that vision of the future be in this case? A heading 'Software'?
In the past, the record section "the music section" was a bit of a problem, and comics should really be called comic books (in the past, everything related to comics was thrown in as you know).
That's why I'm not really waiting for a "software column", because then that same party starts all over again.

We love parties, right? (;-)
Yes, but it is such a mess.
I have a question about DVD Blu-ray import in general. Perhaps / not noticed, but I have been working for some time on an improvement of the previously entered items.
DisneyMeentwijc pointed out to me in the meantime to enter the disc as the 3rd item. I have been working on that for quite some time now. However, I do not get any feedback whether I am currently on the right track with my input.
I also see that there is still either double or cover being entered, so I don't really see the need to improve the items I entered anymore.
The question is therefore: Is there still some supervision of the import?

Of zo.
Yes, there is even an extra administrator: ThaClown.
It is indeed tricky in terms of graphics.
We would like to see images without a box, but would rather have an item with a box than not having the item at all. Other users - with perhaps more time - can embellish it later or later.
The carrier in position 3 is fine, as long as image 3 is not necessary to better identify a variant.
You can indicate duplications by changing the title of the duplicate item (the item that has the least or the worst information) to 'Duplication of' and the number of the Catawiki item that must remain behind it. These are then physically merged every now and then. But please pay attention: sometimes something looks like a duplication, but some have a little more logo on the back than others. Or something.
The week after launch we were promised a number addition field so that we can indicate the variants with a letter, but ...
Snap het. Ik ga dus gewoon door.
Get it. So I'll just keep going.

@Arco: I hope ThaClown doesn't mean me, because at CataWiki my name is just DisneyMeentwijck and because I have 1 character too many for many DisneyMeentwijc.
I'm not an administrator, but I just pointed out to CBoere that it would be clearer to collectors if an image of the DVD was also included. Also with release numbers it is useful to see if your DVD is the same as the one that has already been entered. The number on the DVD is not always the same as the number on the cover, just like with records.
I have also complimented him on the great contribution to CataWiki and would like to express my appreciation for the addition of the DVD images. By entering my work and items in other collection areas that I also have in CataWiki, I haven't had time to thank CBoere for this. Hereby then.

How did you come up with the rather strange idea that ThaClown refers to you, Jouke? In my opinion, the letters in that name have little in common with those in your name ...

@Arco: Sorry, I misread your post! (My sincere apologies for this and if I think about it a little more carefully, I have also encountered ThaClown in that DVD section before.
Let's hope that this section goes up one row in the total overview and that is only possible with the help of good administrators. I wish ThaClown and the other administrators the best of luck and I hope they do as little work as possible!
If so, then that section is well organized and everyone imports their DVDs properly. Unfortunately, I don't think that's always the case.
