Today I sent a shop order and I changed the status of the order to "shipped" tonight. Shortly afterwards I received a rather mixed feedback.
After e-mail contact with the buyer, it turned out that she had received an automatic e-mail with the title "Give feedback to the Boekenmagazijn shop", which she, as a new user, did not understand well.
For me the term "feedback" is so obvious that it never occurred to me that someone wouldn't understand what it means, but apparently the text of the request in question could be worded a bit more clearly. I don't care if I get feedback, but I prefer not to have complaining customers due to emails that I have no influence on myself.
For the sake of clarity, the message may therefore state that it concerns an assessment that the buyer may (but must not!) give to the seller, after receipt of the order. And perhaps the suggestion to buyers who are not satisfied to contact the seller first and not use the feedback to vent frustrations.
Would that work?
PS And maybe one more warning about disclosing personal information in these kinds of publicly visible posts.
Am fully agreed with it, only partially ... Why should a dissatisfied customer first contact the seller if he is not satisfied? If the delivery did not meet the details stated, I think it is fair that the other buyers are also aware of this, why only positive comments?
Then the feedback section is not necessary for me.

@ boekenmagazijn, goed punt.
@ bookstore, good point. Tomorrow I will adjust the text with Marco so that we minimize possible confusion.
@ Ludo, I don't quite understand what you mean. You can always give both positive and negative feedback.

A dissatisfied buyer can give neutral or negative feedback, but sellers are also people who can make mistakes and they would like to be given the opportunity to correct them.
I do everything I can to keep my customers happy, but if someone gives negative without first informing me of their complaint, then it is the end of the exercise as far as I am concerned.

Ah, I didn't immediately understand Ludo's comment. It is indeed mandatory to first make a complaint known to the seller so that there is the opportunity to do something about it.
I might have expressed a little wrong, sorry.
But it does happen, not yet experienced on CataWiki, and then the negative feedback is allowed of course.
It could also have happened through a misunderstanding and then I completely agree to settle it between both parties.
Sorry for my first wrong opinion, probably wasn't awake yet then;)
René, I recently asked the same question: I am shipping an item, Customer gives negative feedback and does not respond to my answer d
that he may return the strip and I will refund it, despite the nature of the complaint (asks for an apparently non-existent edition, says he has already received the same wrong strip from 3 different sellers).

Pitske, I just can't find that question. Could you please email me otherwise?

Negative feedback must of course be possible. But what do you do with this case?
Rutger0502 orders a comic from me from 1981. Turns out afterwards that he is looking for a reprint from 2009.
Gives negative feedback. Despite the fact that here the buyer made a mistake, he even refuses to accept the return of the strip with a refund by me of strip + shipping costs. If the feedback system allows such practices, I wonder what value you can still attach to the system. Other sites even explicitly ask to contact the seller before giving negative feedback.

Mail me s.v.p. even wat meer details.
Pitske, I would like to delve into this if it is really completely unjustified and the mistake is clearly with the buyer, then we will remove that negative feedback. Please email me some more details.
Book warehouse: For the sake of clarity, the message should therefore state that it concerns an review that the buyer may (but not has to!) Give to the seller, after receipt of the order.
From today, the feedback emails will only be sent after a week after you as a seller have changed the status to 'Sent' or 'Order ready'. Then there is sufficient time for sending and the user will only receive the request for feedback after delivery.
In case the status is changed to 'Order Picked' or 'Canceled', an email will still be sent immediately.
Just a question about the feedback.
When I look at my order overview, it says behind every order that feedback cannot be given [yet].
Everything has already been taken care of.

You can only give feedback after a week after the status has changed to shipped, not the purchase date that you see. The sent status is usually a few days later.
ah ok
Thanks very much!
