Today it was revealed that the first edition of the Tintin album Flight 714 from 1968 is in reality the second edition.
The only real first edition has now also been added. The albums can be recognized by the last line on the back cover. In the first edition, the weekly Tintin is read every Thursday and in the second edition every week.
A large number of collectors had the first edition in their collection and now have the second edition.
The lucky owners of the one and only first edition can therefore rebook their album to catawiki nr 1599905 .

Why are the incorrect images of that 1st edition not simply replaced, then, as we always do with items that come from Bonte? These items are always 1st edition. Then in my opinion you will have much less trouble with the more than 60 (!) Collectors than now. Or am I seeing something wrong?

@Arco,
@Arco,
The problem is that the item in June 2008, the covers in October 2008 and the addition first edition was only introduced in July 2009.
So we can absolutely not say who made their choice on the covers or who made their first edition. Or who was aware that Bonte always had first editions in mind.
The advantage of this promotion is that the first and second editions are now in the catalog and the subtle difference between the two editions is clear.

We cannot see what exactly version 1 was (would be useful in this case), but the fact is in "Tintin in sight" by Ottens (2005), so perhaps this was not (yet) known to Bonte. I think that with JohanKuijt we have a good Tintin connoisseur within Catawiki.
