Goedenavond,
Groet,
Pieter

Good evening,
I am updating my album (DAVO I), bought at the end of the nineties last century, in terms of content. Now I have a number of pages with light damage / tear / stain (eg page 4 with felt-tip pen stain) that I want to replace, missing the years 98-2000 (I am only collecting the guilder era for the time being). I wonder if I already have all attachments / additionals or if there are more. Where can I best go for this?
Regards,
Pieter

Hallo pieter030 ,

Wie wil kopen wacht misschien best nog even.
Hello pieter030 ,
It has never been completely clear to me which magazines belong in which part. Perhaps because everyone makes their own 'layout'. Some collectors make their DAVO books a bit thicker than others.
One wants everything together per year, the other wants all blocks (or are they sheets) together, or all postage together, ...
When I read it like this (part I, and 98-2000 are missing) then I think you mean the standard version of those things.
The standard versions contain thinner blades where you can to put on the clamping strips. Ideal for those collectors who only want 'black' clamp strips (perforation is better then). But if you stick that black completely, then you miss the (sometimes) useful information that was there. With 'Cristal' clamp strips (transparent) you do not have that problem. The thinner blades have the advantage that you can put many years together in one folder.
In the standard Luxe versions, the blades are thicker, but you still have to lick clamp strips yourself.
In the Luxe versions, the blades are thicker, and factory-fitted with clamping strips (transparent).
In a very good advertisement (which was still in the correct section!) internet I found a fairly complete description per tome for the deluxe versions. I'm going to put that in the following post (apart from all my writing :)). It can form a basis for discussion to perhaps arrive at the correct content in this thread at the end. Someone has really made an effort, which is wonderful in itself.
The prices from the advertisement I leave there, it is always nice to have an indication of the new price (normal price and discount price). Second-hand, those books, especially for the Netherlands, can hardly reach 40%. There is too much supply.
It is different in other areas. For a DAVO of eg Belgian Congo & amp; I have already seen Ruanda Urundi sold at 150% of the normal retail price (understand who can understand, but it is true).

New discounts are almost always given on DAVO books. These discounts are highest for the Netherlands: up to 30%. It is a saturated market with a huge second-hand supply. The COVID period slowed down the second-hand influx a bit (more demand). But after the vaccination period, the heavenly locks will break open again, I think. If you want to buy, you might want to wait a little longer.

In the past, when I still collected stamps, I provided my DAVO albums with empty checkered sheets. You could then make a classification according to your preference, depending on your preference. For me it worked the simplest: adding blank sheets as soon as the need arose.
Those panes were light gray (unobtrusive, correctly sized with holes for the screws) and available in thin or thick quality. But I don't know if they are still available.

The checkered sheets still exist, only there are no longer any thin sheets.
Davo only prints the "thick" sheets.

Luchtpost 1,2
Roltanding 1-6
Port 1-6
Brandkast 1
Dienst 1-4
Telegram 1
Automaatstrook 1-3
A1 : Internering, Postbewijs, Postpakket-verreken
Groet,
Pieter

Thanks for your comments Raoul, interesting! I use the standard thin blades and I'm a tacker, which I find aesthetically pleasing. So no clamps for me. I think it is less important that it detracts from the value of the stamp. Good to know that collectors organize their own books, so I can be stubborn. Are there no mores at all? For example, I don't think the stamp booklets are suitable for sticking in and too thick to insert them into clamp strips, so I leave them out. I also don't like the combinations.
I had bought a batch of pages 1998-2000 via Marktplaats, but unfortunately they were made of thick paper and with a frame that I saw as particularly ugly, so they didn't make it into the book. These are probably 'standard luxury magazines'. It's a pity that there isn't such a big market for magazines. Would like to shop by theme or (birth) year in several countries.
Coming back to my first post, I now have as 'back of the book' (calculate up to 1997):
Airmail 1,2
Roller teeth 1-6
Port 1-6
Safe 1
Service 1-4
Telegram 1
Vending machine strip 1-3
A1 : Internment, Postal Proof, Postal Parcel Settlement
A2-A58: Pairs, , Coherence, Blocks and Sheets
I feel that when I look at LastDodo I am complete in terms of sheets, with the exception of Stamp booklets and combinations thereof, in which I am not interested. Am I missing something? Are there things I don't have?
Greetings,
Pieter

Voor brieven (o.a. FDC), kaartjes (o.a. EDK), speciale bladen (o.a. FDS), ...
I think there are still some. Since there are DAVO sheets for the NAs of Belgium (NA = free gift with the OBP stamp catalogue), there should probably also exist for the blueprints of the Netherlands (blueprint = free gift with the NVPH stamp catalog). that you don't overcrowd the books. Then you can always add a leaf later. Even if it was just a checkered sheet (see, for example, Dick's post) for a special issue with which you want to enrich (or brighten up) your collection.
There are also plastic supplement sheets for DAVO. With various layouts. For letters (including FDC), cards (including EDK), special sheets (including FDS), ... Perhaps they also exist specifically for stamp booklets. Then you can keep them together in your DAVO book(s).
The packaging of DAVO magazines from Belgium always contains an overview of what exists for that calendar year (with numbers: 1A, 1B, ... 2, 3 , 4, ...). Perhaps there is also such an overview on the packaging of the sheets (if you buy them per calendar year, as a supplement? I don't have such a packaging, but others on LD (from the Netherlands) will certainly have it somewhere.
Hopefully someone will scan such an overview, and then paste it here in this thread.
