Vandaag aangeboden op de catawiki stripveiling. Maandag 29 maart 2021.

Offered today at the Catawiki Comic Auction. Monday March 29, 2021. Four lots with Spirou's collections as 'Very Good'. But with the explicit mention: 'Without Micro Stories'.
A forewarned person counts for two here.
I have reported to the experts several times that without the micro stories, which are an integral part of the magazine, the item is incomplete. So definitely not in good condition.
LD also regularly features such offers in the shops. No one gets upset about that, apparently.
I shouldn't do that anymore.
A question for the administrators: A magazine or booklet from which the numbered middle pages are missing, is that 'fair condition' or 'bad condition'?

if the booklet itself is otherwise in good condition, then it is reasonable. bad applies if the booklet itself is too bad

Daar staat evenwel niets over in.
https://www.lastdodo.nl/nl/shops/sucazel/items/108304347-robbedoes-verzamelde-nummers-96?item_id=46159
https://www.lastdodo.nl/nl/items/121549-tien-meesterwerken-uit-de-wereldliteratuur-van-alle-tijden

Just a wood block on the fire of this discussion. What Morits wrote above is not correct. The catalog ( https://www.lastdodo.nl/nl/areas/17872-bundeling-robbedoes ) clearly states:
Bundles of Spirou with one or more removed center pages (microbooks) are never better than 'poor condition', because incomplete.
However, and that was also TonKoninkcs' comment, hardly anyone adheres to this. At least I see few bundles offered in 'bad condition' (because who is looking for that?) and I also regularly see sellers who mention that bundles of micro-stories are missing in 'good condition'.
Why this massive disregard for this prescription? Possibly because this phrase was only added at a certain point, while there were already countless bundles for sale in shops, but it is more likely that many do not think this is a realistic state of affairs. Let me keep it to myself: I don't think it's realistic.
Yes, a collection without micro-stories is incomplete. But so are missing posters and other attachments. However, there is nothing about that. Take this bundle (from my own shop):
https://www.lastdodo.nl/nl/shops/sucazel/items/108304347-robbedoes-collected-numbers-96?item_id=46159
I have also mentioned that the separate supplement "Ten masterpieces from world literature of all times" is included, which belongs to Spirou 1420 (which is included in the collection).
https://www.lastdodo.nl/nl/items/121549-tien-meesterwerken-uit-de-wereldliteratuur-van-alle-times
That's rare, and apparently LastDodo wasn't aware that it should be in the bundle, as it wasn't in the bundle's catalog information 1 minute ago. I just added that information, but there is no system to notify my fellow sellers. Adding this information makes the bundling of fellow sellers who do not have the attachment 'incomplete' in one fell swoop: they may expect messages such as: "is the attachment included" in the future? etc.
The reality is that microstories and posters are often missing. Buyers and sellers know that, and there are bound to be buyers who aren't interested in those micro-stories. You can hardly read it - in such an awkwardly thick bundle. The solution is not to offer everything as bad condition and chastise sellers if they label an album as good while a micro-story is missing. The solution is: as a seller / uploader, proactively mention WHETHER the posters / micro-stories / attachments are included and take this into account when pricing.
My strong point: making Spirou bundles with missing micro-stories mandatory as 'bad condition' is comparable to obliging cyclists to hold out their hand to indicate direction: a rule that is being ignored en masse, and which has therefore become obsolete.

Ton's message was about the Catawiki comics auction and not about the Last Dodo catalogue. There is an essential difference between the way items for sale are listed with these entities.
At the auction, items for sale are approved by the auctioneers and yes, Ton has a point when he says that they are missing of the microbooklet makes the item incomplete. The auctioneer should take this into account when describing the condition. Incidentally, there is no relationship between the auction and the catalog and the auctioneers are therefore not bound by what is in the catalog.
In the catalog an item for sale is not checked and the description of the condition is therefore entirely the responsibility of the provider.

That's a fair nuance, rikMooren, but it's a shame you don't go into where the shoe pinches for me.
The second part of Ton's message was indeed about the LastDodo Shops. He also poses a question to the administrators on this forum, not the auctioneers, and Morits' response was related to that.

Ton also wonders who is concerned at Last Dodo about the condition of an item without a microbooklet.
The moment the seller indicates that the microbooklet is not available at the Spirou, the item receives a other value. It is up to the buyer to determine whether he still wants this item and if so what amount he is willing to pay for it.
The answer to Ton's question is therefore the buyer....
And the answer to the other question has already been given by Morits.

We also agree on that, where the problem is that sellers are 'obliged' to label bundles with a missing micro-story as 'bad condition'.

We also agree on that, where the problem is that sellers are 'obliged' to label bundles with a missing micro-story as 'bad condition'.
As you mentioned before, an obligation without control has no meaning whatsoever.
Last Dodo is a platform where you can manage your collection for free and offer free items for sale.
Control is human work and costs money...
Should the platform then ask every collector and shop for a contribution to have a group of inspectors check the for sale for the correct condition?

No, in that case I'd argue in favor of simply removing that weird 'obligation', if it's just a dead letter that new users mistakenly believe they can rely on. Those regulations may have been considered useful at one time, but they do not work in practice.

No, in that case I would argue in favor of simply removing that strange 'obligation', if it is only a dead letter that new users mistakenly believe they can rely on.
Even if you would remove this clear information from the background page of Bundeling, the condition would still be Bad condition.

That's why I'm starting this discussion again, Collectioneur , partly in response to the discussion that dieter303 started elsewhere (about how to report that a seller does not comply with this and what to do with a written name on the endpaper).
Today I changed the catalog information of the Spirou Bundle 96 by adding that it should contain an appendix. I'm sure not all my fellow sellers are/were aware of that, and if they don't read this thread, they still don't know. In theory, the following will now happen: someone buys this book, thinking that the collection is complete, because it is offered in 'good condition'. The appendix is missing, and the customer is disappointed because "if the strip is incomplete, it must be presented as bad condition", referring to info on the website. Customer disappointed, seller surprised. All in all, I have done no one a favor by adjusting the catalog information.
My point is: with a Spirou (bundling) it is very common that a mini story, poster or appendix is missing. (I was once told by a collector that the Spirou collections were sometimes removed from the magazines beforehand, so as not to make the collections too 'bulky' - I don't know whether this is true.) I don't think it's realistic to put them in the same category as comics that are "seriously damaged". As far as I'm concerned, the information in the list above does not need to be adjusted, but the comment on the Spirou bundles does. For example, make this: "the micro-stories, posters and attachments are sometimes missing from these bundles. Nevertheless, these bundles can still be in good external condition. The seller must state in his description whether the micro-stories, posters and attachments are present ".

The discussions and opinions about whether or not a collection is complete are certainly useful. In recent years I have found out that some Sjors weekly newspapers and Donald Ducks also had supplements, which are regularly not yet listed in the catalog. I can only add them if I have the attachments myself. There are some fanatic connoisseurs of comic weekly magazines around, which I learn from. When selling, I always check whether the catalog of any item (book strip weekly) has been changed. This prevents issues with buyers. Incidentally, buyers who know and/or are interested in attachments really ask if it is included. Would be foolish to take the chance to buy. Coming back to the micro booklets, if micro booklets are not inserts as I read, they were torn out then an album is really incomplete, which is different from the lack of an insert, the comic or the album or weekly magazine in the absence of an insert (that can be are everything) I see myself as complete. That is also difficult, a nice poster of Arranz in some Sjors sen that is not included, yes that is also different from a small missing advertising card.
If you put something up for sale knowing whether or not it is known in the catalog as an attachment, you must mention it with your item. If something is torn from an album or collection or weekly, then it is not complete. In case the qualification for this specific Spirou phenomenon in an otherwise new condition bundling would be too harsh, it is quite appropriate. It's NOT GOOD is it??
Aside from attachments to old Donalds Ducks, they are often worth more than a Duck in (almost) new condition. I was lucky enough to meet a seeker who was looking for an advertising card (thought year 1957) that I didn't know existed (to my surprise it was in the Duck in question, which I had always overlooked ..) and that 150 euros counted down ...

I have had all the Robbedoes bundles, but can say that there were almost never any appendices, precisely because that would make the bundle too thick. Special Easter numbers were also not or hardly in the bundles, so I had them separately

Today I changed the catalog information of the Spirou Bundle 96 by adding that it should contain an attachment.
Can we assume that you have this bundle with the relevant attachment? Otherwise, this adjustment must be reversed.
As
[Edit] The text of the background page for the series "Bundelingen Robbedoes" has been adjusted to clarify this:
Due to the thickness of many bundles, the appendices (including micro booklets) have been removed by the publisher
Bundles of Spirou that have been published with the relevant microbooklets, can be regarded as incomplete if the appendix is not included.

Yes, that attachment is in my bundle.
I think the text that is there now is a good adaptation. The main thing is that a proactive seller states whether or not the attachments are included.
