Enjoy!
Today we have greatly improved the layout of viewing details of an item in the catalog. This was one of the most requested improvements to the site.
I illustrate it with the help of the picture below:
As you can see, you no longer get a long list of collectors / wish lists and shops, but a link appears. If you click on it, the desired information will appear. You will see that the Search list is shown. That's because only a limited number of people have it on their list. These are then immediately displayed. That saves you another click.
Everything is now logically sorted and you can now also see from which country someone comes. This is useful to know if you want to buy something, for example. If you have not already done so: you can set in which province and in which country you live via My Profile. At the moment you can only choose the Netherlands and Belgium. We will soon add all other countries to that.
If you look closely, we have also changed the order slightly. Shops are now at the top. We did this because it turns out that most of the click-throughs are to shops, so we assume that people want to be able to see that information quickly.
Enjoy!

That looks very neat,
only I wonder if all providers have a 1st edition! new condition! offer?
not only with this comic book, but with much more, because a booklet of 22 years old and then in new condition, there are very few who know what that means.
I would like more state listings in the comic books section!

@Marco
Een hele verbetering, hulde.
@Stripsmagazijn
@Marco
Quite an improvement, tribute.
@Stripsmagazijn
A 22-year booklet in new condition, I think, simply means that the owner has handled it with care. Considering that the average Catawikier is an above-average comic collector, I don't think that is so strange at all.
Six state listings is way too many. We have to avoid getting the same thing as in America where we have to distinguish between a crease of 2.35 mm and one of 2.36 mm because the comic then just falls into a different category, of course taking into account or both. staples shine just as much. Terrible, we really shouldn't want to.
In my opinion, there would be at most room for one single category under reasonable, for books in clearly deplorable condition. There are a lot of them (and not booklets from around 1990 but from before 1950) in the various collections.

@ Marco,
@ Marco,
Looks great this new layout. It makes it a lot clearer. I think the flags by the name are funny (and colorful).

@Marco
Why still these differences among the collectors. so much in good condition, so much in… etc.
Maybe it is better to convert
Is in xx collections, regardless of condition

@ Jilles
@ Jilles
I think that the fact that, especially with older books, you not only get an impression of how many there are (still), but also what the condition of most copies is, is indeed interesting information and, for example, partly influences the valuation.

@stripsmagazijn: see the bottom of this topic about offering reprints at the first edition, I am very much against that: http://tinyurl.com / yklekvt
@ Pegag and Jilles and the readers of this topic.
New condition is indeed a very difficult concept.
Most of the books that I purchase are usually very beautiful, but read and therefore semi / almost / almost new condition.
You will not find much in new condition, certainly not with antiquarian albums, so let's say from before 1970 (also this year is always a discussion point)
good condition I think is a bit too far from new condition, therefore for people with a shop / shop traders and shopkeepers a state listing could be added such as eg
semi - new condition new condition is of course also called MINT , but let's keep it in the Dutch language and luckily there are no staples in most comics so you don't have to polish them.
I suggest this because I want to use Catawiki to post all my admissible 2nd Hand strips and series.
but every time I put a booklet in near mint condition in good condition while it actually deserves better.
then I can put it in near mint condition, but someone who has a Very Beautiful! looking for a copy, skips good condition.
Customers who buy from us know what we mean by new or near mint condition.
good condition is then, if not rare, or much cheaper antiquarian.
A lot of Traders (anyone who ever sells something, also point of discussion) and Retailers that I have bought or sold to in the past do not know at all what is new or near new condition, let alone near it)
I therefore want to request a 4th state listing in the form of near / semi / near mint condition for people who do want to search and understand. (you can choose the name yourself)
Again do not respond to the discussion points indicated in brackets, but rather an appeal to the top collector and top sellers in the Netherlands, most of the second hand and antiquarian comics you will find in and / or does it sell in near mint condition?
I want to have an extra section added to Catawiki for that.

@Stripmagazijn
@Stripmagazine
I agree with you that the term "new condition" is difficult to define.
I do wonder if adding an extra section like semi-new condition or something like that solves this problem.
In my opinion, refinement of the state (read extra section) leads to new discussion. Is the album in good condition or is it semi-new condition.
Before we know it we are still in the American system where we may not polish the staples, but we do count the folds and determine the discoloration of wood-fibre-rich paper.
I would prefer to keep the 3 categories and that they form an indication so that buyer-seller can determine the price for the album together.
@ RikMooren
@ RikMooren
It is precisely because of Internet Sales that mention is very important!
If you have the booklet or item in your hands, you can always better assess it as a buyer and state listing is less important.
But what I want to prevent is people asking questions like:
This comic book has no folded / damaged corners. No dents, folding holes in the cover or other unsightly damage?
Not written in? and inside of the comic book and the spine is neat too?
And the light scratches are not deep scratches.
I hope to hear from you.
No Criticism of this Customer.
But when I say new condition then it is new. and light scratches are not deep scratches and holes in the cover.
When I say almost new condition it is also new but read or something small.
if it is in good condition, these questions will be addressed as now.
But not with us! good condition is also good and I will add comments. inscribed, Donkey ears, scratches, cracks, etc.
But fair condition is offered very little by us or must be rare.
Semi - Mint condition actually means perfect condition but not unread or a very small thing on an Antiquarian strip.
I am afraid that the new condition will be stated too soon when sold on Catawiki.
Counting folds is therefore not even near mint condition with us!
in good condition you just expect a neat booklet without the points of attention of a customer mentioned above.
And as is known for Semi or New condition, you simply pay more or search longer.
I cannot now properly offer an Antiquarian Comic Book in Near Mint Condition.
So then I ask do you want it in Mint or Good Condition?
Personally, I think Good Condition is too Min!

@stripsmagazijn,
@stripsmagazijn,
Your speech shows that you have a good overview of the criteria you use for new condition, etc. This does not automatically apply to your (future) customer. I have never bought anything from you, but who knows, should this happen in the future then I will first check what exactly you mean by new or semi-new condition.
I understand that it is precisely in internet sales that the state listing is important, but I still really believe that refinement does not really solve this problem. Dialogue with the (future) buyer then remains necessary and yes, that starts with establishing definitions (how deep are the scratches?).
In my opinion, adding a new section in semi-new condition still leads to the discussion whether we should not create a new section in the lower spectrum (more than sufficient condition or semi-good condition, etc.) to restore the balance and to right all providers and then I think we're going to move towards a system that is too differentiated.
@ RikMooren
@ RikMooren
You are very welcome!
I would only import the thousands of books I still intend to import over the next 30 years.
Please include that section.
a good example is De Alvestedetocht / Robert and Bertrand which I have just introduced.
and good condition is too weak and new condition is just too much.
most of our books are in near mint condition!
so yes for me as a Retailer I would like to have that section there only with the shop option.
is this possible Rene?
Just new condition Alim HC 2 bought here at Catawiki in new condition!
I get it with 4 goddamn dents through the crappy shipping.
not even protection from bubble wrap just a plastic bag, goes directly to the trash can I prefer protective material.
I want new condition even after shipment.
I did receive a new condition Partners 15 from The Oak TOP !
simply by adding a good piece of cardboard on both sides.
I hope the person (I don't give names) who sold me the book will read and learn from it!
Otherwise, you should be ashamed of such a Big Shop.

@stripsmagazijn,
@stripsmagazijn,
Dear Koen, have you read the definitions of Mint condition, Good condition and Fair condition? Stands with each item, but here just to be sure:
Mint condition
Absolutely as new in every respect without any wear and tear. Comic may have been read but still looks perfect. Antiquarian comics of which a small stock has been found and which have not been read (“stock status”) have a higher value.
Good condition
Strip has no serious damage or clearly visible wear. It is not written in.
Fair condition
Minor damage is allowed: fold, name inscribed with pen, small piece of the spine away, etc. If the strip is in bad condition or incomplete, then it is worth little or nothing unless it is a very rare strip.
Isn't what you mean by almost new condition just the same as Good condition with us? We set the bar quite high.
About problems with purchased comics (this is hardly the case as far as I know): if you cannot reach an agreement with the seller, please give me a little more information and I will see if I can achieve something. Incidentally, we are indeed not formally responsible / liable for this.
@ Jilles
Vloeken sorry! was moment opname zeg maar!
@ Rene
Probleem bijna opgelost! stel ook niemand aansprakelijk of zo.
wilde het alleen even kwijt.
@ Rene,
@ Jilles
Cursing sorry! was a snapshot, say!
@ Rene
Problem almost solved! don't hold anyone liable or anything like that.
just wanted to say it.
@ Rene,
I have read those definitions well idd, but then I have doubts about some providers whether they offer really good and really new condition.
I would like to add something,
Mint condition:
Mint condition must not have been read!
certainly not with Antiquarian or non-stock states.
I absolutely do not agree with that.
Mint condition must not be discolored either.
Nor in or written on with pen or worse, pencil is possible.
Good condition:
rather a good book with a small name or stamp in it as a lesser copy without a name.
What is serious damage?
for the 1 that is a donkey ear to the other that is a donkey ear.
none clear observable wear such as?
Fair condition:
I'll just leave that for what it is.
I want to cooperate in making a clear Catalog with correct state records.
Quasi - Mint condition means something else as good condition.
new is new and therefore unread and not registered
Quasi new is also new but read
good is very nice with minor remarks or remarks.
or you can say that new is new and therefore unread, and good is also new but read with minor comments or remarks
but then again you miss new condition but gezezen.
Otherwise, show up in the store when you come to see my different states with the books for clarification.
