I think this is due to several factors.
- Some of the Catawiki members have become members mainly for the auctions and are therefore following them closely.
- At the auction you have many more options (photos and text) to promote your lot. And you are also not among 20 other providers of the same item.
- The sport of auctioning :-). Once you've set your sights on something, you want it too. For example, a luxury Blake and Mortimer recently flipped over 4 times.
Goede argumenten.
Good arguments. I personally check the auctions to see if there is anything interesting, but always check the shops for the price. Buying a whole series through the auction also saves shipping costs from 1 seller and is efficient in handling, dealing with 1 party. Like the Tintin facsimile, last purchased. The 2 grand edition of lefranc surprised me, for 150 auction, they can still be ordered 1st edition for 43 each.
Which Blake and Mortimer was it in a shop? The guus smart of tomorrow is also one, but I don't see it in that condition in a shop.

Since the Catawiki policy of charging a commission upfront for items, there are few precious albums left in a shop.
The Blake and Mortimer is still for sale. I saw him 2 weeks ago at an SSZ for 180 euros.
In September I bought the same album in new condition at the auction for € 111. So it depends on who you meet at an auction.
The red fathers have indeed already passed 1000 euros. I have never seen him for that amount :-)
Still a shame about that committee. Perhaps they will come back to it. The offer has been reduced by it. It is safer to buy here than on eg marketplace, so far I have only had good experiences with buying in the shops on Catawiki. It is more of a community of enthusiasts, which is why I experience the mutual communication as a buyer and seller as very pleasant. am curious how high those red fathers will go;)
