I also have a question about the background pages of fictional characters. Does that fall under a person (if so, is the date of birth the date of creation?) Or under other. From a practical point of view, the category seems different to me, but for a central personal register people is better again.

Will there be a wider choice of types for the background pages in the future? Or is CataWiki collecting first and then sharing it afterwards?

I have just lost a background page that I added. The one from LP vinyl, it hadn't been imported yet, so I should have done that.

Where did it go? It is (short summary) in my profile, but is completely empty in the LP vinyl category. If it is not good, then a message may also be sent to the contributor. That is very neat and then please with argumentation.

I don't think many foreign users will understand that, because the relevant (Dutch) information is not displayed when you click on the collection area.

And maybe a programmer, if there are time for it, take another look at the line breaks that are lost on the background page. The hard returns are displayed correctly in the preview.

Er wordt gewerkt aan invoerregels, zoals dat je niet je eigen achtergrondinformatie mag schrijven cq wijzigen, en dat je geen teksten elders van het internet mag pikken. Eigenlijk net zoiets als bij Wikipedia.
Of er ook direct een handleiding beschikbaar komt, weet ik niet.

Bestaat die ondertussen al?

Er wordt ook gewerkt aan een overzicht van alles waar al achtergrondinfo van is aangemaakt. Hoe dat eruit gaat zien, is mij niet bekend. Maar kreeg dat idee pas gisteren, en schijnt niet veel programmeursinspanning te kosten.

Als je een link wilt toevoegen in je tekst, kom je voor enkele problemen te staan:

- het kader waar je de link kan invullen is niet zichtbaar (tot je helemaal naar boven gaat en het tegenkomt)

- bevestigen van je link is een gok (want er staan wel twee knoppen, maar je kan niet zien wat je aanklikt)

- oei, het werkt niet (want de link (URL) die je invoert begint met "http://catawiki/... en dat deel moet je telkens wissen) Dat is zo niet op het forum en heel misleidend staat er dat je link van de site moet komen dus (http://catawiki.nl)/[/uw_link] .

We are working on input rules, such as that you are not allowed to write or change your own background information, and that you are not allowed to steal texts from elsewhere on the internet. Basically the same as Wikipedia.
I don't know if a manual will be available immediately.

If you want to add a link in your text, you will face some problems:

- the box where you can enter the link is not visible (until you go all the way up and encounter it)

- confirming your link is a gamble (because there are two buttons, but you can't see what you click)

- oops, it doesn't work (because the link (URL) you enter starts with "http://catawiki/... and you have to delete that part every time) That is not the case on the forum and it is very misleading that you link must come from the site ( http://catawiki.nl)/[/uw_link ] .

You can only enter links to catawiki pages, so "http: // catawiki /" appears.
