Aart, 10% of the stamps have the title fauna. It's a wonder you find something uberhaubt.

And to think, that England has almost 12000 stamps minus 10% fauna, there are still 10800 left, who is going to search when you have 260 pages in front of you.

which joker has thought that a catalog apparently works like this for him.

even with a paper catalog you can already see more than 100 stamps at once on 2 pages with the possibility that you can suddenly see 100 stamps again by turning 1 page.

In fact, we have to go back to the paper catalog, after all that works more efficiently

In the old gallery there was no possibility to select / filter by face value for Stamps. That is why this option is not listed on the left. Wouldn't it help if that option was introduced now?

I'm probably looking over it, but how do I get from an author's overview page to all related (linked) items in other sections?

One day worked with the new layout. I myself have the advantage: I had little experience with the old layout lol Still I notice a huge difference: my hobby will take up a bit more of my time with LD.

When registering stamps in a collection in the large (I mean new) layout on LD it takes at least twice as long before you have found all stamps of a country / year to click on (compared to the small, aka old, layout). And my index finger is scrolling tired in the meantime.

I can advise everyone to rest the scroll finger every now and then. For example, by posting a message to the community in between.

The increase in usage type and type has not escaped me, that already makes up for something. If the messaging system was equipped with emoticons, I definitely put a thumbs up here.

Another idea (if not already mentioned elsewhere):

When you click on an item, you get the detail, with three action buttons: '+ in Shop', '+ in Collection' and '+ in Search list'. If you click on it, you will get an add screen in which you can change and confirm or delete the properties (MNH / unused / canceled). A lot of clicking, and when adding a little scrolling because the action buttons will be placed under the space for adding 3 personal photos. In the evolution of humanity, in the LD audience, the index finger (= the scroll finger) will be better developed in later generations.
Also if you click on the three icons under the photo of the item you will get the same detail screen.

A number of clicks can be prevented if, for example, the icons get a different underlying action: e.g. click on the basket and you immediately get the add screen in which you can enter the properties ... etc ... am willing to write it out in a very detailed and detailed manner. But in a long text you have to scroll more :)

In my humble opinion, that would be an improvement, not just a change. And I suspect with little effort (please correct me if I am wrong).

In the past, an item, the author, series, ... of which a background page consisted of an "I". These are no longer present. Is there a reason for that?

I also spotted it in the discussion about the Tom Poes Shooting Game , so I think Arco was working on it.

By the way, I only now notice that the new item detail pages no longer indicate in which areas a Background page is available.

And it looks like all background page information has completely disappeared in the new layout.

Thank you, Fazerco. As I thought, tiny text overlooked. Just a matter of getting used to.

P.S. the Stickers section is set by default to display Year , a value that is usually missing. I think Title is more relevant. By the way, you cannot sort by Number in series.

The background pages are still there.
At the top of the gray bar, directly below the bold series name, is the link to the background page, if any.
See here an example

Aha!

I find that pop-up window a lot more convenient than how it used to be, and the formatting (line breaks) is finally as it should be, but such a tiny text "Read more" does not immediately suggest that there is a background page. .

And if those background pages do not become more visible, that does not encourage people to add information themselves ...

@Collectioneur,

about the problem concerns photo gallery that disappeared with the 100 stamps page.

It is then possible to add an extra search engine to be able to search with values, just like with Coins.

after all if a stamp does not contain information such as e.g. Chinese or Japanese stamps, then there is still a value.

Could you submit this?

I agree with Steef and I cannot agree with what the collector says. As far as sorting is concerned, the new layout is extremely uncomfortably cluttered and, I think someone has already said that, it encourages errors and duplication.

The new design is ok ... uh ... as far as Jip and Janneke are ok.

I am a romantic: content gives direction to the form and the technique must make that possible.

It will probably not be possible, but if there was the possibility to choose between the old and the new version, I would go 100% for the old version, even if the new version would have options that were not there.

For me there are only options such as the selection bar at the top of the gallery where you could apply multiple selections at the same time and the numbering if you were at the list.

But the main thing remains that it is so unclear now.

Why do those images have to be the same size when you are in an overview?

Then the overview is gone, right?

For a better view of an item you could click it and that works much better for most I think

Refresh ok. And who does nothing can do nothing wrong.

But I do wonder if the "developers" of the new layout have a feeling for the "product" LastDodo.

An IT person who has no knowledge of accounting will not be able to make a good program for this. And in my opinion, this is what happened here. Too little sense of the concept of "Collecting".

If you don't get any or few complaints, that's usually okay. If you do get complaints and comments (and there are some anyway) then you know that something is not right. And those responsible must (dare to) question themselves. And critically evaluate the product.

And there are certainly new things that are good. But also possibilities that have disappeared that should remain absolute.

And I can therefore agree with the opinion of 015steef500. Do a survey among users to hear, for example, who would like the possibility to continue to open several filters at the same time, as in the past. I think there will be a lot ...

So, I am only a few. But if we all speak up enough it may be (re) reviewed.

And with this I certainly do not want to detract from the "developers": see 1st line at the top.

If my boss asks to write a program and he doesn't like it, I have to start over.

I also think that it has not been taken into account that photos that are too small if you try to make them larger, that they will become blurred whether you put on glasses or not, blurred is blurred.

When I open the 1st page of Hong Kong, I see 4 images that are in focus, and those are my own entries, the rest is blurry or soft.

if the size would be a bit smaller, you see more images, and they become a bit sharper

That bar with search options, pull-down menus and sorting options is so ingenious, so comfortable and so decisive for the face of the catalogue.

We will miss her appearance, that understanding of our wishes, like a botox too much with people, a scar that won't heal, ... a stranger in the house that you have to get used to but don't really want to recognize.

In the past, programming may have been done without collectors. At the end of the Catawiki period, almost nothing more happened. Lastdodo has been focusing on innovation for a few months now. To claim that the programmers are out of touch with collecting is as much as saying that Rene and Arco (and now Tammo) do not know what instructions they gave the programmers. I do not think such comments are possible. Another novelty since a few months (to increase the involvement of collectors) is that you can apply as a test user. You will then see the new pages in advance and can give comments. Unfortunately, there is little or no response to that. But ... the pages are live for two days and you are all nagging how bad it is and that you want it different. I'm not going to comment any further.
