Three copies where originally made by hand, one was given to Edward Steichen (now in the at MOMA), one went to Frank's parents, and one to the National Gallery of Art in Washington which was used to create this volume. All of the 34 original photographs are presented here, taken from England, Paris, Peru, and other locations worldwide. These are some of of Frank's earliest photographs, taken before the Artist's famous "The Americans"
