Beeldjes/Thema Diddl

Ik had de Diddl items in deze rubriek opgezocht en het thema 'Diddl' gegeven.
Diddl verzamelaars kunnen aan de slag in verschillende rubrieken met dat thema.
In de sluitzegelrubriek werd bij de Diddl-items verwezen naar de verschillende rubrieken, Thema 'Diddl'.  Kwestie van 'promotie' dat Diddl, als thema, in veel rubrieken voor komt.
Blijkbaar is de wijziging in deze rubriek overal afgekeurd.
Jammer voor de Diddl-verzamelaars.
Ook de koppeling naar het verzamelgebied werkt nu niet meer.  Ik ga die nu overal terug manueel verwijderen.
Er is voor die verzamelaars niks te vinden voor hun Thema.

Hogerliggend nog altijd het probleem: Thema zou MOETEN rubriekoverkoepelend werken.  Maw: overal dezelfde lijst.
Soms is er geen Thema veld.
Soms noemt het Trefwoord.
Soms noemt het thema, maar wordt het misbruikt voor dingen die geen thema zijn (bij Ansichtkaarten bv.  thema's als 'Strips: Auteurs: Straaten, Peter van').
Soms wordt thema zodanig algemeen gemaakt dat het ook niet meer bruikbaar is voor de themaverzamelaar (bv. thema's Postzegelrubriek).

Maar Hogerliggend valt er niks aan te doen.

I had looked up the Diddl items in this section and given them the theme 'Diddl'.
Diddl collectors can get started in various sections with that theme.
In the closing stamp section, the Diddl items were referred to in the various sections, Theme 'Diddl'. It was a matter of 'promotion' that Diddl, as a theme, appears in many sections.
Apparently the change in this section has been rejected everywhere.
Too bad for the Diddl collectors.
Also the link to the collection area doesn't work anymore. I'm going to remove it manually everywhere now.
There is nothing for those collectors to find for their Theme.

Still the underlying problem: Theme MUST work across categories. In other words: the same list everywhere.
Sometimes there is no Theme field.
Sometimes it calls Keyword.
Sometimes it mentions a theme, but it is misused for things that are not a theme (in postcards, for example, themes such as 'Comics: Authors: Straaten, Peter van').
Sometimes a theme is made so general that it is no longer useful for the theme collector (e.g. themes in the Stamp Category).

But on Higher Levels there is nothing that can be done about it.

Voor elke themaverzamelaar is het handig als in alle rubrieken z'n specifieke verzamelgebied als "thema" kan worden gebruikt, maar dat betekent niet dat het een goed idee is.
Voor een overzichtelijke en logische themastructuur is het nodig dat elke rubriek zelf bepaalt welke gebieden nuttig zijn en welke niet, hetgeen deels afhankelijk is van de hoeveelheid items met dat motief.

Daar ben ik het principieel niet mee eens. Natuurlijk moet een bepaald thema overal dezelfde betekenis hebben, maar dat wil niet zeggen dat het ook overal beschikbaar moet zijn.
Zou je het bv. ook voor de 2 Diddl-items in de Postzegelrubriek willen gebruiken? Waar ligt dan de grens?

Ik ben ook van mening dat een merknaam in principe nooit een thema moet zijn. Er zijn bijna altijd andere velden waarmee die items op een meer logische manier gekoppeld kunnen worden.
Een uitzondering (ook – tot mijn ongenoegen – in de speldjesrubriek) is Disney, een term die zoveel verschillende thema's combineert dat je er gewoon niet omheen kunt.

Een vervanging van de themalijst door een vrij in te vullen veld "trefwoord" is iets waar ik niet bij voorbaat tegen zou zijn. Het levert wel een veel grotere lijst op met veel synoniemen en veel marginale termen. Dat is niet per se slechter (want er is veel minder moderatie nodig), maar het vereist een compleet andere manier van denken. 

Dat stoort mij ook. Zulk een extreme opsplitsing van thema's werkt volgens mij contraproductief, omdat je dan talloze themagebieden krijgt met 1 of 2 items erin. Dat vergroot voor niemand de vindbaarheid.
Een veel effectievere werkwijze is het koppelen van verzamelgebieden. 
In het bovengenoemde voorbeeld een link van alle relevante items buiten de striprubriek met de auteur "Straaten, Peter van" in Strips. Alleen als die werkwijze niet mogelijk is, zou een oplossing via het themaveld overwogen kunnen worden.

It is useful for every theme collector if his specific collecting area can be used as a "theme" in all sections, but that does not mean it is a good idea.
For a clear and logical thematic structure, it is necessary for each section to determine for itself which areas are useful and which are not, which partly depends on the number of items with that motif.

I disagree with that in principle. Of course, a certain theme should have the same meaning everywhere, but that does not mean that it should be available everywhere.
Would you like to use it for the 2 Diddl items in the Stamps category? Where is the limit?

I also believe that a brand name should never be a theme in principle. There are almost always other fields that can be used to link those items in a more logical way.
An exception (also – to my displeasure – in the pin section) is Disney , a term that combines so many different themes that you simply cannot ignore it.

Replacing the theme list with a freely fillable "keyword" field is something I would not be against in advance. It does result in a much larger list with many synonyms and many marginal terms. That is not necessarily worse (because much less moderation is needed), but it requires a completely different way of thinking.

That bothers me too. Such an extreme division of themes works counterproductive in my opinion, because then you get countless theme areas with 1 or 2 items in them. That does not increase the findability for anyone.
A much more effective method is to link collection areas .
In the above example a link of all relevant items outside the comics section with the author "Straaten, Peter van" in Comics. Only if that method is not possible, a solution via the theme field could be considered.
