give some examples, presumably old input, I assume management pays attention to it?

Vriendelijke groeten,
DisneyMeentwijck,
beheerder CataWiki (Ansicht)kaarten
Postcards management certainly tries to get the postcards displayed correctly. The intention is that the image is clearly visible. If the image is upright, then the card should be displayed upright.
The back is always transverse (horizontal) with a space to write on the left and lines for the address and a stamp box on the right. This is what a modern (postcard) card looks like from the time it was laid down that way (even by law, I think). Old (postcard) cards, often still with the text (print) postcard on the back, had other lines, which were also fixed, but here too the back was horizontal.
If I see a (postcard) card that was wrong is shown, I first write to the importer to change that. If that doesn't happen, I'll play it myself, if I don't have too much other work to do. In that case, the card will be rejected.
As an administrator, I do not have enough time to turn the cards in the correct position. But if I get requests to rotate postcards, then as an administrator I will. I think the other administrators feel the same way.
So if you have examples, we want to help you.
Best regards,
DisneyMeentwijck ,
administrator CataWiki (Postcards) cards

Jilles
PS De molens staan weer recht
It is often the lack of knowledge of computers, but the need to place the cards. I'm not going to counter that.
Tilting is not easy. Then the Catawiki icon goes with you. If, like the last entry, they are photographed a bit wide, I copy the photo, crop it, tilt it and put it back. That takes some time, but with Picasa it goes smoothly
If that space is not there, I can download the images without watermark. This feature is not available for all administrators. This also takes more time. (I can only at home)
But I would never reject because a photo is placed the wrong way round.
Jilles

Administrators can determine their own policy in this area, but disapproval is allowed. In any case, it is not allowed to approve items if the images are on its side.
Personally, I always disapprove of them (I often send an email first to new users), because users have a responsibility in this of course. If you are entering and you see that your images are on its side, do not continue entering, but seek help.

Since as far as I know there are exactly zero input statements available for inputting images of cards (not even sticky in the forum) it seems to me that you have to be very, very careful to use image orientation as a rejection criterion. ;-)

I agree with Jilles,
Although I find it difficult, we have to take into account the (im) possibilities that the importer has.
And the wiki The thought is of course that the image can be restored.
And often an email with advice already helps.
Yesterday I entered 5 books myself, 5129680 and the like, where the images are nicely upright for me, but tilted on Catawiki. When I look at the properties, I see "width 3000 pixels height 4000 pixels", so according to my PC they are really higher than wide. But the input goes wrong. I got a kind note from the administrator to tip them please, but I don't know what else I can do.

This happens with windows 8. (automatically straighten the images on your pc, but the file is still upside down, and so also when you upload it)
Open the image, crop a little and save the changes. Try entering them again, they should be straight.
Thanks, I'll try if I have a moment!
OK, 5129784 adjusted, that works (now it shows them lying in Windows8 on my PC, but that's a W8 problem, not a Catawiki problem :-) )

Tilted / rotated images are very annoying indeed. I wouldn't disapprove of them either, but as said before, it's easier for administrators to rotate images that are already there. Administrators can request images without the CataWiki watermark and then rotate and replace them with watermark.
but of course it is easiest for an importer to rotate their own images. Unfortunately, I also have that Windows 7 automatically rotates my images when previewing, as does my phone. If you know, I will rotate them before I place them or rotate them when I see that my images have been rotated.
And just like Arco, I will of course email the importer with the request to As soon as I understand the printing techniques, I want to write a manual. As a normal postcards manager I cannot create the input instructions and neither can sticky anything.
