I have not looked at the Toonder lots before as I thought there must have been some experts checking the data. However, I come across some things that I have doubts about.

Such as lot 48 . Beautiful, hors commerce and signed, but whose signature is that?

Then lot 57 and lot 97 . According to the catalog description " Made by Dick Matena in collaboration with (under the supervision of) Marten Toonder" and dated 2000. Okay, that's possible, because Toonder only died in 2005. But why does the text "copyright inherit Toonder "?
Moreover: who has the title of 2526179 made up? I suspect Toonder - and Matena too - knew the difference between bees and wasps.

Edit: The drawing of lot 97 has a calendar for 2002 (January 1), and it therefore also belongs to CW 140663 , published in 2001 (with indeed a slightly changed drawing).

It may be assumed that Toonder and Matena, from a business point of view, worked together for years and had a love-hate relationship. But they have worked together often and a lot. When Toonder's fingers experienced so much rheumatism that a Tom Poes drawn by him started to look like Mickey Mouse, he appointed Matena as his one and only successor. Matena was also the only one who was allowed to draw Tom Poes at that time. But everything went in consultation with Toonder, the great master demanded that. Matena was therefore the obvious successor. And well, when Dick Matena got rid of these originals a few years later (when Marten Toonder had already passed away), he naturally set up Toonder's copyright heirs. He didn't want a future owner to be able to "mess around" with it. Simply, from a preventive point of view. Nothing more and nothing less.

Clear, although I did not expect such an extensive story. Those last 4 lines would have been a sufficient addition for me.

I am surprised that so many auction texts are so brief, with items of this caliber you can expect something provenance . Especially if that information is simply known to the seller. Not so much to do with mistrust, but especially with not letting knowledge go to waste. " It may be assumed to be known" is a clincher in this case.

Just received the won lot from the bearer auction. All fine, but the special auction edition of the bommel comic envelope (as promised during the comic days) was not included .... will it be delivered later?

Auction lots are shipped directly by the provider / seller, the strip envelope by Catawiki. So these are by definition separate shipments.

I really liked the last auction and was finally able to win lots. Very nice to follow those bidding competitions. Persistence wins and fortunately not always (anymore) for the main prize. I think / hope that due to the high frequency (weekly and 2 auctions) the prices will moderate slightly, but unfortunately there are always people with a very large purse who keep the priceless items unaffordable.

I notice that another trilogy by S & amp; W appears in the new auction. Time to adjust the value?

I also had a comment about the Wednesday auction, in particular lot 52. It seems to me that that is just a misprint. And if that is not the case, the contributor can explain how he is so sure and come up with evidence.

I just hope there will never be a Disney / Disneyana auction, because then I will be broke: o;)

The cw number of the book has been added purely as a service, exactly as stated on the lot.
But I understand from your report that this service is not sensible and can cause problems. Then we will stop this.

if I see this like that, then 3/4 of that 'nonsense' can get out. This is nice for a bibliography, but it does not belong in a catalog.

Er wordt soms slecht opgelet bij de (lastig te identificeren) drukken van oude Suske en Wiskes.

Kavel 57 is volgens mij geen 1e druk, want bij het gekoppelde item 27043 staan maar 6 titels van Snoek achterop, bij het kavel-item 7.

Het is ook geen tweede druk, want bij 2329213 staat geen "in voorbereiding" achter de laatste S&W-titel.

Een anderhalfde druk?

@Morits: Het is heel toepasselijk op een info-pagina over Rikki en Wiske, maar (naar mijn mening) in elk geval niet bij een willekeurige herdruk.

@Veilingmeester: bij kavel 121 ook, zie ik nu. Er staat onder "Deze kavel bestaat uit de volgende Catawiki catalogus item(s)", wat op z'n minst de vraag oproept aan welke toezegging je de verkoper mag houden.

People sometimes pay too little attention to the (difficult to identify) editions of old Suske en Wiskes.

In my opinion, lot 57 is not a 1st edition, because the linked item 27043 only contains 6 titles by Snoek on the back, with lot item 7.

It is also not a second printing, because at 2329213 there is no "in preparation" after the last S&W title.

One-and-a-half pressure?

With regard to the special auction bearer envelopes ... 14-3 was Rene's answer ..... we still have to send the special Bommel comic envelopes. We are doing our best to arrange this this week. Not quite successful, I think (not yet received) .... Any idea when things will be delivered?

If I were # 501 I wouldn't have said anything, but I don't think even the February envelopes have been shipped yet. :-)

Karin, who coordinates the dispatch of both envelopes, was sick yesterday and today. I hope she will be back tomorrow. Then she can pick it up right away. Otherwise I will come up with something else.

Not that I really care, but is the claim that Luc Morjaeu signed lot 63 did correct? I cannot find any confirmation (online) that he already worked for Jef Nys in 1991.
