I notice that there are shops that sell albums that do not yet have a mention of a second edition on Catawiki, which then only offer them for sale as the first edition.

I don't think this is the intention.

No, that is not allowed according to the regulations they have accepted. As soon as you come across this, the best remedy is to ask the seller's item a question such as: 'The info about this item does not match the catalog. Please remove from your shop quickly. ' Such a comment can be seen by everyone and you remain anonymous yourself. Shops don't like that very much. (;-)

That's why you often get bad emails back, but the delete button works great for that.

Unfortunately happens in several (all?) Sections. They just take a different edition for (comic) books, or for games they sell the 'American' version instead of the 'European' because it is not there yet.

However, it cannot be controlled by CW. The only thing you can do is write to the provider.

Edit, Arco was ahead of me.

Dear collectors, moderator(s) and other interested parties.

It's nice that regulations like these are used every now and then and are adjusted when "falling short"! Several items were sold within 1 week and several buyers were satisfied. You will understand that a rookie like yours truly has 50% experience. All quite logical... I don't know anyone here personally and read in a (other) topic that people would like to be able to create a kind of friends list. I'm glad I don't have any friends in my list yet....(not because I'm shy of people or anything, because after I looked at my first orders, went to prepare them, I came to the nasty discovery that there was some kind of "double" order had taken place) So I explained the following to the buyer via Catabike email: (name of the buyer not mentioned for privacy)

Best

Unfortunately I cannot send you the order of the series De Bopjes. Someone else was just ahead of you. We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. I hope to get you satisfied in the future if you want an order in my shop.

Regards, Brady

The same day I received the following email back:

Dear Brady
This is impossible through Catawiki. From the moment someone buys a booklet, it is no longer possible for someone else to buy it. So you probably promised them to someone else after my purchase (who probably wanted the whole series). Very inappropriate!
Best regards

You will understand that this did not make me happy on the very first day after opening my (collectors) shop. For the sake of clarity, I must explain the following. I had promised with the entire series purchase (mini-comic books) in question, to deliver a FREE Comic book: De Bopjes go on vacation ....and vice versa, so when purchasing the latter booklet, the entire series will be free ,Bee

As I mentioned before, there were 2 potential interested parties at the same time .. one party-A for the Series, the other party-B for the holiday comic book. Don't get me wrong, I want to deal with everyone here in a nice adult way, but I've become somewhat displeased after this matter and even considered - if it has to go - my shop.

Thank you for your attention in the hope that there is someone who can dissuade me from the idea of closing the tent here.

Brady

It's not that difficult, because you offered 2 items for sale and both could not be bought in one sale. If you want to prevent this, you have to make it a combination sale, so offer both item A and item B in a sale. However, you have to explain this well to the buyers, because as you have explained it now, it is not correct. Because you make a promise and no linked sale goes what you wanted ...

I would give the buyer who sent you that email the correct explanation ...

So do not make any more promises or you just have to take the present from the shop and add it as a bonus, but never leave it separately in the shop.

@ brady welcome

@ morrits

exactly you want to give something for free but it is separate in you shop

delete immediately a buyer flies in between you can cancel the item

/ the not neat solution /

or better if the item is for sale elsewhere bargain it there and forward it often costs a little more but a negative feedback costs a lot more

success and the forum is there to ask for help

@Morits + @puurveensboeken

Yes, now that I have absorbed this explanation and / or advice ... I understand where my mistake was. Haha really such a beginner's mistake ..... but I choose the solution, that from now on I add a free item to the original order, because suppose I may not have 1 or more days to complete my shop ... the same could happen, partly because you don't know exactly the "orders received" of the shop.

Thank you very much and I will definitely I do not understand quite a lot of things and (continue to) ask my questions here. My consideration to end my shop no longer exists.

10. Stamps section.
No damaged stamps may be offered in the Stamps section.

So this is a stupid rule, so it could just as well have applied to books and comics (why is a Rikki and Wiske that has fallen apart allowed in the auction? Or is sometimes combined from different parts?). I think you mean gummed stamps because that's a form of fraud. There are plenty of collectors who can't afford an expensive stamp of €1000, but would like to have one of which a tooth is damaged and can be bought for 10 euros in the collection to fill the album...

Moreover, you will not find this as rules, but in a question and answer game.

As long as a seller states in the offer that the defect is present, there is nothing to worry about. The same applies to books that are offered with a reprint in a 1st edition, in itself nothing goes wrong for the buyer, but the catalog pricing goes wrong ... and therefore not allowed and a new entry must simply be created, but It is not forbidden, the book will continue to be offered in the shop...

Dear,

I am new here and currently posting my comic collection on Catawiki.

While doing this, I notice that it is extremely difficult to put any value on my comics ....

I will also be selling some comics soon and therefore my question to the professionals here if there is some guideline to determine a value ...

There is some kind of vague description of a comic in mint condition, near mint condition etc .... mr what if there is a name written in the comics or what if there is somewhere in the middle of the strip has been worked with colored pencils ...

Is it possible to have it checked somewhere for the correct price, because suppose you are a layman and you put a strip for sale for 5 euros mr in reality this is Worth 20 euros?

Thank you!

Yes

Best is first to take a look at the prices of the other sellers, that already gives a serious indication.

Furthermore, after 1970, comics actually have to be in new condition to still get high prices. (limited and special editions excepted).

A name or signature is no problem for me, but a shame for others ... If the comic is perfect, I would just offer it as new condition with the mention of the shortcoming.

Perhaps a somewhat superfluous question, but I can't find it like that on the website 1 2 3.

In my collection I have ao Mein Kampf and other Nazi propaganda such as books by Goebels and Udet, etc. Can I sell it in my shop or put it up for auction, or is this one of the prohibited items? Where is the boundary here?

Sale of Mein kampf is verboten (not due to Catawiki, due to the State of the Netherlands). For the rest, most paperwork is allowed.

With other objects, the formal boundary is often the symbols and markings on the object. Visible swastikas and SS symbols are still seizure-worthy outside the museum.

What about this item? Swastika is visible

http://www.catawiki.nl/catalogus/strips/series-helden/halbritter-kurt/3536741-adolf-hitlers-mein-kampf

I assume this is not allowed to be sold in a shop?

Incidentally, I agree that catawiki is not difficult about this for the time being, about this. Finally, collectors' intentions are honorable.

I have a question I collect comics, pokemon cards and Belgian banknotes, I recently saw a strip going expensive at an auction while I bought it in the store at a much lesser price, it is the same here already at E -bay that one can bid on own lots ?? to increase the price a bit?

Please comment and thank you

Nancy

It is possible that a seller is bidding on his own lot. This is not without risk for that seller, because, in the event that he is the lucky winner of his own lot, he must transfer approximately 25% of the final offer to Catawiki (9% buyer costs and 13% seller costs).

What is much more likely is that 2 bidders want to acquire the lot and are therefore bidding against each other.

@Nancy

No, that is not allowed. The problem is enforcement, because everyone has acquaintances and friends who could then start bidding. The fact that (almost, you can never exclude everything) is not offered on your own lots, has a simple financial reason.

Every bid made is legally valid, the seller must deliver and the buyer must pay. If the seller possibly remains as the highest bidder, he must pay the buyer's commission, but also the seller's commission. This has been an expensive advertisement for him, especially since he hasn't really sold anything yet.

Why some items on our auctions are priced high has been explained several times. This is due to its reliability, presentation and the many bidders who visit our auctions. The system of extensions is also a bull's eye for many bidders. For high prices you need at least 2 bidders who want a specific lot. On the other hand, there are plenty of lots going away cheaply, some people know this and make an attempt at the last minute to get hold of such an attractive lot.

In addition to the above, there is also a bit of unfamiliarity / ignorance. Already seen a few times and also in the forum mentions that there is more to offer than is new in the shops or elsewhere in shops on the internet. On the other hand, you can also get beautiful comics for a very nice price. I always do good research before bidding.

I feel sad that we have nowhere to turn when a fraudulent salesman is fooling you! ! ! NO ONE cares about it and if you try to solve it they put the blame on the post while they themselves have a worthless and unkempt packaging! And despite the fact that it is not the first time that it has happened to that seller, he is not being blamed for this! We as a buyer simply remain out in the cold because there is no response to emails about this! HEAR SAD!
