America eh, we live here in Europe

In addition, coin operated covers a much wider area than just gaming machines such as pinball machines and slots

I really don't have to walk into a cafe here and inquire if they have coin operated arcade games here, see the faces, until you say pinball machines, "say that right away, oen". However, in some cafes they have made up other words for a while ...

I do not want to speak out directly about the best name (I am not a collector or specialist of those systems), but I do wonder whether we should throw all devices of that type together at Video Games.

The first real Videogames (electronic game that runs on a video screen) originated in the early 1970s (Pong-Atari) and evolved (in arcade systems) into JAMMA devices.

In addition, you have 'mechanical' devices such as pinball machines, jackpots, etc., which are predecessors of the Arcade Video Games, but strictly speaking do not belong there.

I have searched for games, I do find one pinball machine under 'Objects', but I don't know if that is the best way of working to catalog these devices.

That's what Scam says, but where else can you leave that pinball machine. As long as there are no Flipper / Slots Arcade machines yet, and people still want to place them, I have no problem with it. As with several things, wait until there is a rubric for it and transfer them with the tool created for it.

That's right, I've already sent Rene an email about it.

By the end of the year, a new one will be added: the PSP 2.

The PSP2 will be called NGP , but you probably already knew that.

And then next year the "Nintendo stream" (or whatever it may be called).
Are all nice new toys for the coming period.

Nintendo 3ds has been added. I now see that you did indeed early on, Scam. Sorry for the delay.

Of course you copied it exactly as I wrote it down yesterday, but ds is actually capitalized.

So " Nintendo 3DS "

Have it adjusted in the meantime is indeed 3DS. How is it, by the way? I have only bought Rabbids 3D so far. The 3D effect is indeed there, but with that game it is a bit redundant, it is actually a 2D platformer with a 3D background: - /

And for the PSP2 / NGP, calling a console 'Next Generation Portable' is asking for trouble, I wonder if they will continue?

I myself only have Samurai Warriors: Chronicles, and the 3d effect is really well done in the movies.
In the game itself, but it doesn't add much to the game experience.
A fun game though, if you like hack and slash.

Soon DOA, I expect a lot from that, and then nothing for me personally for a while I think.
For example, I'm not going to play Zelda completely again, just because of nicer images.
Beyond The Labyrinth seems like a game where 3d will really add something, we'll see.
And I hope for an endless ocean game for the 3DS, that also seems very nice in 3d.

Sony is acting strangely with its portables anyway.
First that playstation phone, last those 2 tablets to which the playstation name is linked, and then later the actual successor that gets a name that is not so recognizable.
Then you are shooting a bit of hail at your fan base in my opinion.
Not so handy to fragment your target group in terms of handhelds.
It's like they're saying, "We don't know either, choose what you want"

The 3D effect is definitely there, but are they going to do something with it?

Idd no new Zelda (Ocarina is old news as you say), and no new Mario either.

I am looking forward to Resident Evil .

What bothers me most is that they still have not anti-glare the screen (which is the same for the PSP by the way).

Well, what can you do with it, except it looks nice?
In terms of gameplay not so much I think.
For me it would not have been so necessary, that 3d.

The new Mario is still coming this year, so that in itself is something to look forward to.
At E3 they will show what else we can expect in the second half of the year.

Hmm, not as spanned as it sounds, since it's for kids between 3 and 12. But yes, I'm still a kid :)

Background info, started in 2005, and went up in smoke in 2006 I believe. It came from Nikko, those guys from those radio controlled cars. It is also a kind of media player, you could play movies / mp3 with it, take photos. Only about 12 games have been released. And via E-bay you can find some new stuff in Italy.

Lol, I was just snooping here and there, and saw this one, so bought one on the marketplace.

Btw, the Tiger Gizmondo is that something? It does need a SIM card so it is a phone, but several games have also been released. It's probably just like that Nokia.

Maybe it's something for you Scam ;-)

It was probably as big a success as the Nokia, because I hadn't heard of it yet ;-)

What I would still like is the Epoch Game Pocket, but it is simply impossible to find.

Wasn't that Gizmondo that device promoted at E3 by booth babes, who turned out to be prostitutes in everyday life?

Edit, yes so

That is entirely in the style of that firm. I thought it was Tiger Electronics. That is a large company that has been making LCD games for a long time.

But it's about Tiger Telematics and if you read that history with big spending, Ferraris, mafia and spectacular bankruptcy you hear those prostitutes also included.

Your link goes to the wrong company, but now that you mention it, I can still remember that there was an organized crime link with one of those guys.

The following year, the rules for booth babes' clothing were tightened up considerably.

Another platform is missing: VIC-20, the predecessor of the Commodore

I still have it, I just don't know if it still works, but I also have a game for it (on a cassette tape)
