Hi, I live in Taupo in the centre of the North Island of New Zealand. I have a collection of vintage cameras . There is a listing here for Zeiss Ikon Ikonta 35 (522/24) stating that it dates from 1954 This is incorrect.

THe Ikonta 35 was the first postwar 35mm camera made by Zeiss Ikon and dates from 1948. In 1951 the camera was renamed the Contina.. This little folding camera is different from the later solid Continas which had a different designer

I have a specimen dating from 1949, serial number 030750 in good condition. When collapsed it is no bigger than a modern point and shoot digital camera

Hello Keith201,

welcome on CataWiki and I hope you have as much fun with this site as I have! It is addictive to work on the site and manage your collection and the CataWiki-Catalogue, but very fulfilling.

If you can't find your camera's in the CataWiki Catalogue, you can add them yourself! If you don't know how, you can look it up in the Help link at every page below.

If you think that the information of an item in CataWiki is incorrect, you can edit this information yourself by clicking on the edit-button/link and change the information accordingly.

It seems to me that your hobby needs a lot of space and much money, but you get a pretty good historic knowledge of the evolution of technology.

Good luck with your hobby and you can always ask questions in this forum.

Hello Janne,

welcome on this site! The fun in collecting is trying to complete series of coins. If you try that, you'll see that your interest will broaden and a collection is growing!

But as for your grandmother's coins, they will be invaluable, I guess, because of the emotional value. If you can't find them in CataWiki, I think you will please a lot of collectors by adding them to the CataWiki Catalogue. If you don't know how, just look it up in the help section, as mentioned in a link below every page.

Hi

My name is Madison, and I'm living in Spain.

I've been collector for year, but when I lost my job, last summer, I started  to sell everything. And I discovered that I like it as collect. Usually I reach item, with the feeling of a collector, but I do not store its, but I sell.

Site is wonderful!!! Here I can sell almost everything I own, that take me months to introduce. Coins, banknotes, stamps, stickers, cards, watches, phones, photograph, shirts, sunglasses, perfumes, boxes, puzzles, toys, dolls, diecast, breweriana, glasses to drink, and many things more.

My grandpa said me if something is not valuable, keep it, it will.

I only wish to all of you a merry christmas and best wishes for new year,

Don't forget me if you are looking for something. Feel free to ask me for. I've sold my items to some site that sells classic football shirts, and some big seller of cards most popular site of auctions online, and many more, ...

Kindly regards

Hello everyone,

My name is Mike and I retired to the Philippines (from UK) a couple of years ago.

I came accross this site almost by accident and congratulate everyone on how it has been successfully built

My speciality is stamps from British Commonwealth (or ex BC) countries & Western Europe and have just started to list here for sale.  There does not seem to be an integrated payment facility yet & I hope that this will follow in due course.

I've been selling on other auction sites for over 12 years now & have to say, as a collector,  that this is potentially the best of all of them....as a seller.....who knows

Thanks for reading & best regards

Only buyers can give feedback. They get an email requesting feedback several days after the seller has marked the order "Shipped".

Hi everybody,

my name is Michael, but I more known as PaleoPhilatelist in internet.
(Actually I'm already some time on this site, but I guess I never introduced myself to the community)

I do collect various philatelic material related to Palaeontology - stamps, covers, post stationary .... depicted prehistoric animals, dinosaurs, fossils, palaeontologist, contributors to the science (Charles Darwin, Carl Linnei, Thomas Jefferson...).

I like to stay in contact with people who has similar collecting interest, and always ready for swap. Like to share my know-how with others.

I also have a website: http://www.paleophilatelie.eu - site about Palaeontology and it's representation in Philately

so long,
Michael.

Hi everyone! I just joined this site a few weeks ago, and am really enjoying it. I collect stamps with my favorite being FDC's. I'm trying to put my collection in right now and also have created an Excel Spreadsheet to help keep track of my collection. I used to collect when I was a child, and have re-discovered the hobby. I borrowed the 2013 Scott Catalog from the Library so I like to update information on stamps when I discover one with missing information.

Hi everybody :)

I'm new to the site, I've been adding my grandfather's stamps in order to sell them. Then I found out that this site has a shopping opportunity. Wow :) If I understood well, if i sell items under 75 euros I don't have to pay nothing, is that correct? But how do i get payed? How can I use my paypal account? via emails from the buyer?

Other thing, I am from italy, if I sell abroad, how do I have to send the stamps? Insured mail ? wich documents do i have to put if the Customs make a control on the mail? I don't want to get in trouble for a stupid thing like not putting the correct documentarion. Can anybody help me?

 Thx in advance.

Hi Wewra1, and welcome,

Items under 75 euros can be sold free of charge. You can indeed use your paypal, but you should really discuss means of payment with potential buyers.

As for sending the stamps, you may decide for yourself whether or not to use registered, insured or some other type of mail. We've never had any experience with customs delaying shipment, but some other users might be more seasoned when it comes to documentation.

Kind regards,

JW Tjooitink - Catawiki customer support.

Hi all have only recently joined the site but it is brilliant. Wish I had found it earlier.

I am an avid collector of many types of Ephemera and have recently inherited my fathers collection of diecast models.

I have started to add them to the catalogue and have put some up for auction. Still deciding which to sell.

I have lots of different and interesting things in my collection and now with my fathers added it has got quite large so will have to start selling things off.

If you are after a particular item just ask and I will see if I have it.

regards

Steve Morris
