Ben erg blij en ook wel een beetje trots dat ik vandaag mijn 750ste item heb toegevoegd aan mijn verzameling. En van alle items heb ik van zowel de voor- als de achterkant een eigen scan gemaakt, wat een werk. ;-)
En nu? Op naar de volgende 750 items.

Jij hebt nu ook een streven gehaald, waar ik, mede door deze post, ook mee bezig ben en dat is om meer items te hebben dan forumberichten. Ik doe mijn best en wens jou nog veel verzamelplezier!

Congratulations! I also try to have all my own items scanned first. Due to the amount and the short (available) time, I never manage to provide my entire collection with my own images.
You have now also achieved a goal, which I, partly because of this post, also am busy and that is to have more items than forum posts. I do my best and wish you a lot of fun collecting!

Behalve het scannen zijn er in de loop van de tijd 8000 items ingevoerd en 5000 verbeteringen aangebracht. Ik probeer hiermee een voorbeeld te zijn van niet praten maar doen. Hoe beter de catalogus wordt, des te groter zal zijn succes zijn. Het kopen van papieren catalogussen is onbetaalbaar geworden. Veel succes met je werk.

In addition to scanning, over time 8,000 items were entered and 5,000 improvements were made. I try to be an example of not talking but doing. The better the catalog becomes, the greater its success will be. Buying paper catalogs has become prohibitively expensive. Good luck with your work.

@JozefK: Dat is helemaal zoals het hoort. Bij nieuwe items doe ik dat zo veel mogelijk wel, maar bij al bestaande items (nog) niet altijd. Ik kijk overigens wel altijd even of de afbeeldingen die ik heb gemaakt beter zijn dan de bestaande. Dat dan weer wel. ;-)
@ JozefK : That is completely as it should be. I do that as much as possible for new items, but not (yet) always for existing items. I always check whether the images I have made are better than the existing ones. That then again. ;-)

De 'rest' lijkt hard labeur, doch als verzamelaar vind je dat niet zo erg.
ReneDank je wel. Het 'geweldige' werk in de postzegelcatalogus geldt evenzeer voor de collega beheerders, en voor een (redelijk groot) aantal plichtsbewuste gebruikers. Het is meestal heerlijk als radartje in dat groter geheel te kunnen (en mogen) meedraaien.
En de hoop op een jaartje meer is altijd aanwezig.

ReneThank you. The 'great' work in the stamp catalog applies equally to fellow administrators, and to a (fairly large) number of conscientious users. It is usually wonderful to be able (and allowed to) participate as a cog in that larger whole.
And the hope for another year is always there.

Het meest belangrijke, maar dat kan (bijna) niemand zien: het aantal openstaande reviews in de Postzegelrubriek is met 5% gedaald.
Dàt is, gezien de omstandigheden, meer dan opmerkelijk. Dàt is een mijlpaal om U tegen te zeggen. Geen persoonlijke mijlpaal, maar als persoon krijg je het er wel warm van.
Voor diegenen die mijn oeuvre weten te appreciëren schrijf ik er nog een mooi stukje bij, gerelateerd aan die mijlpaal. Ben je licht geraakt of gevoelig op een bepaald vlak? Sla de volgende tekst dan over (can you smile or do you suffer from green?) :)
Voor anderen is het mijn extra cadeau bij mijn driejarige mijlpaal.
Die 'omstandigheden' zijn bv:
- de huidige 'Thema' aanpak leidde, leidt en zal leiden tot duizenden bijkomende nieuwe openstaande reviews (onderandere het "[Niet gebruiken - s.v.p. leeg maken]" fenomeen);
- het nieuwe veld voor de lokale cataloguscode . Waar nu enkele noeste werkers (ondermeer Jummeke en Petvre) die cataloguscode uit 'Bijzonderheden' opvissen om het in dat nieuwe veld te plaatsen.
Helaas, bij Indonesie is het toevoegen van 'Zonnebloem XXX' niet toegestaan in dat veld (het is voor APPI). Een slimmerik (*) was daar al aan begonnen.
En helaas bij Suriname: nà 1975 moet het veld ook leeg gelaten worden. Er staat duidelijk 'NVPH'. En die items zal je daar nooit in vinden.
Internationalisering heeft zo zijn gevolgen.
Om gedonder te voorkomen herhaal ik ook wat ik vorig jaar had geschreven:

That is, given the circumstances, more than remarkable. That is a milestone to be proud of. Not a personal milestone, but it does make you feel warm as a person.

For others, it is my extra gift for my three-year milestone.
These 'circumstances' are, for example:
- the current 'Theme' approach led, leads and will lead to thousands of additional new open reviews (including the "[Do not use - please empty]" phenomenon);
- the new local catalog code field. Where some diligent workers (including Jummeke and Petvre) are now fishing out that catalog code from 'Specialties' to place it in that new field.
Unfortunately, Indonesia doesn't allow adding 'Sunflower XXX' in that field (it's for APPI). Some smart guy (*) had already started doing that.
And unfortunately in Suriname: after 1975 the field must also be left empty. It clearly says 'NVPH'. And you will never find those items in there.
Internationalization has its consequences.
To avoid any fuss, I will also repeat what I wrote last year:
