Hallo, hier mijn eerste post.
Ik ben ook wel een voorstander van zo’n overleg per serie. Zeker als het om de verschillende drukken gaat. Dat kan namelijk betekenen dat sommige doublures geschoond moeten worden. Dat lijkt me het best om dat in overleg met een aantal te doen.

De zoekresultaten zijn nu altijd gegroepeerd per hoofdrubriek (Strips, Boeken, Muziek etc.) en worden in een logischer volgorde getoond (bij Strips bijvoorbeeld eerst Series dan Auteurs etc.)
Iedereen die hier een suggestie voor heeft gedaan: erg bedankt voor het melden!

De derde nieuwsbrief al weer. We proberen dit wekelijks te doen en bestaan dus al weer ruim 3 weken. Als je deze nieuwsbrief niet meer wilt ontvangen stuur dan s.v.p. even een reply op deze mail met “Unsubscribe” in het onderwerp.
Stripdagen
Catawiki was aanwezig op de Stripdagen in Houten. We hadden een geweldige aanloop op onze stand en hebben 2 dagen lang met enthousiaste (aanstaande) gebruikers gesproken. Dat was erg leuk. Ook kwamen er nogal wat tekenaars langs die in Catawiki albums van zichzelf ontdekten die ze al weer vergeten waren :-) Tekenaar Jean-Marc van Tol van Fokke en Sukke kwam ons nog speciaal zijn complimenten overbrengen. Onze film op basis van de 3D view in Catawiki – optie rechtsboven in de zwarte balk in een fotogalerij – had veel bekijks. Een foto van onze stand vlak voor het begin van de beurs:
Forum
Afgelopen donderdag is het forum live gegaan, onder andere bereikbaar via Ontdek. Er zijn al bijna 300 berichten geplaatst in een paar dagen tijd. Dus het loopt al meteen goed. Je plaats eenvoudig zelf een berichtje. Probeer maar eens (wel even inloggen eerst).
Wedstrijd!
Op het forum vindt je in de Strips rubriek onder “Strips algemeen” een bericht over de Catawiki Strips Wedstrijd ( http://forum.catawiki.nl/forums/strips-nieuws/t… ) met mooie prijzen waaronder een origineel Blake en Mortimer album uit de Lombard Collectie en een zeldzame en kostbare Leblon-Delienne Guust Flater lamp (in beperkte oplage uitgegeven). Deze zie je op de volgende foto van onze stand:
Andere verbeteringen op de site
- De optie “Toevoegen afbeelding” waarmee je snel afbeeldingen toevoegt aan een item zonder dat je de overige invulvelden ziet. Handig om bijvoorbeeld bij strips even snel een cover toe te voegen die nog mist.
- Bij Strips zie je onder andere bij auteurs en uitgeverijen nu ook in de linkerkolom de relevante series staan. Dit komt de overzichtelijkheid erg ten goede.

De snelheid van een aantal functies is sterk verbeterd. Bijvoorbeeld van de hoofdrubriek pagina van Strips en van het bekijken van alle verzamelaars en van hun verzameling of shop. Door het snel toenemende aantal bezoekers op de site moeten we de performance goed bewaken.
Acties voor de komende tijd - Het logischer presenteren van zoekresultaten.
- In Strips het verbeteren van de werking van het invoeren van verhalen.
- In Strips het groeperen van albumreeksen (hierover kregen we een goede tip via het forum; aarzel dus niet ons je wensen kenbaar te maken).
- Het verbeteren van de beheerders website zodat de beheerders de ingevoerde en bestaande gegevens goed kunnen beheren.

Het aanmaken van nieuwe verzamelgebieden in overleg met verzamelaars met veel expertise (o.a. emaille reclameborden, Film / TV / Game collectibles, trading cards, spellen en puzzels).
Tot slot: heb je nog geen plaatje in je profiel geplaatst? Doe dat dan even. Het maakt de site veel leuker. Het mag een foto van jezelf zijn maar ook een plaatje dat jou representeert.

Comic Days
Catawiki was present at the Stripdagen in Houten. We had a great run-up to our booth and spoke with enthusiastic (prospective) users for 2 days. That was fun. Quite a few artists also came along who discovered albums of their own in Catawiki that they had already forgotten :-) Artist Jean-Marc van Tol van Fokke and Sukke came to give us his compliments. Our film based on the 3D view in Catawiki - option at the top right of the black bar in a photo gallery - attracted a lot of attention. A photo of our booth just before the start of the fair:
Forum
The forum went live last Thursday, accessible via Discover, among other things. Almost 300 messages have already been posted in a few days. So it immediately goes well. You can easily post a message yourself. Just try (log in first).
Contest!
On the forum you will find a message about the Catawiki Comics Competition in the Comics section under “Comics in general” ( http://forum.catawiki.nl/forums/strips-nieuws/t ... ) with great prizes including an original Blake and Mortimer album from the Lombard Collection and a rare and precious Leblon-Delienne Gaston Flater lamp (issued in a limited edition). You can see this on the next photo of our booth:
Other improvements to the site
- The option “Add image” with which you can quickly add images to an item without seeing the other entry fields. Handy, for example, to quickly add a cover to comics that is still missing.
- At Comics you can now see the relevant series in the left column at authors and publishers. This is very good for clarity.

The speed of a number of functions has been greatly improved. For example from the main Comics page and from viewing all collectors and their collection or shop. Due to the rapidly increasing number of visitors to the site, we have to monitor the performance well.
Actions for the coming period - Presenting search results more logically.
- In Comics improve how story entry works.
- In Comics the grouping of album series (we got a good tip about this through the forum, so do not hesitate to let us know your wishes).
- Improving the administrator website so that the administrators can properly manage the entered and existing data.

Creating new collection areas in consultation with collectors with a lot of expertise (including enamel billboards, Film / TV / Game collectibles, trading cards, games and puzzles).
Finally: have you not yet placed a picture in your profile? Then do that. It makes the site much more fun. It may be a photo of yourself or a picture that represents you.

Beste Catawiki gebruiker,
Catawiki is al weer 2 weken oud. We krijgen veel positieve reacties. Uitgevers, distributeurs en tekenaars komen zelf met aanvullingen. Experts op deelgebieden zoals Prins Valiant, Tex Willer en Reclamestrips melden zich als beheerder. Daar zijn we allemaal erg blij mee!
Knipsels / voorpublicatie in Strips
Op de vorige Catawiki Nieuws kregen we veel suggesties binnen. Een aantal is meteen doorgevoerd en andere issues zijn aan onze to-do lijst toegevoegd.
Een punt dat vaak werd gemeld was dat voorpublicaties in tijdschriften of kranten – in uitgeknipte vorm ook wel “knipsels” genoemd – hinderlijk tussen de reguliere albums stonden. Dit gaf een rommelig beeld. We hebben dit opgelost door items van de soort “Knipsel” niet meer standaard te laten zien. Ze worden pas toegevoegd aan de reguliere items als je het vakje aanvinkt dat voor “Voorpublicaties / knipsels” staat in de zwarte balk boven een fotogalerij, lijst of vitrine pagina. Als je in bulk een hele serie toevoegt aan je verzameling dan worden de knipsels niet toegevoegd.
De voorpublicaties zijn wel interessant omdat ze aangeven wanneer verhalen voor het eerst zijn gepubliceerd. Soms gaat het ook om verhalen die niet of niet in dezelfde vorm als album zijn uitgegeven.

Hulp gevraagd: oude strips voor in de film!
We zijn bezig een filmpje te maken voor onze stand op de Stripdagen. Het biedt in vogelvlucht een overzicht van de Nederlandse Stripgeschiedenis op basis van alle items in Catawiki. De periode van voor de oorlog kan hierin nog beter vertegenwoordigd worden. Met name Jilles Bijsterveld heeft al behoorlijk wat vooroorlogse strips toegevoegd maar er missen nog wat prominente uitgaven. Bijvoorbeeld de oude drukken van Prikkebeen (wie voegt de eerste toe?) We willen je vragen om indien mogelijk oude strip items toe te voegen die nog niet in de catalogus staan. Ook is het toevoegen van ontbrekende covers van oude uitgaven erg welkom.

Dear Catawiki User,
Catawiki is already 2 weeks old. We receive many positive responses. Publishers, distributors and draughtsmen come up with additions themselves. Experts in areas such as Prins Valiant, Tex Willer and Advertising Strips register as manager. We are all very happy with that!
Clippings / Pre-Publication in Comics
We received many suggestions on the previous Catawiki News. A number of them have been implemented immediately and other issues have been added to our to-do list.
One point that was often reported was that pre-publications in magazines or newspapers - in cut-out form also called “clippings” - were annoyingly placed between the regular albums. This gave a messy picture. We solved this by no longer showing “Snip” items by default. They are not added to the regular items until you check the box next to “Pre-publications / clippings” in the black bar above a photo gallery, list or showcase page. If you add a whole series to your collection in bulk, the clippings will not be added.
The pre-publications are interesting because they indicate when stories were first published. Sometimes it also concerns stories that have not been published or have not been published in the same form as an album.

Help wanted: old comics for the movies!
We are making a video for our stand at the Stripdagen. It offers a bird's eye view of Dutch Comic Strip history based on all items in Catawiki. The period before the war can be represented even better in this. Jilles Bijsterveld in particular has already added quite a few pre-war comics, but some prominent editions are still missing. For example Prikkebeen's early editions (who will add the first?) We would like to ask you to add old comic items that are not yet in the catalog if possible. It is also very welcome to add missing covers of old editions.

Catawiki is nu een week oud. Er worden iedere dag al honderden items aan de catalogus toegevoegd en verbeterd. Daar zijn we erg blij mee!
Iets nieuws
Vanaf vandaag biedt Catawiki iets nieuws: de mogelijkheid om in één keer een heel verzamelgebied aan je verzameling toe te voegen. Dit kan een complete serie zijn maar ook alles van bijvoorbeeld een bepaalde auteur, artiest of uitgeverij.
Erg handig als je (bijna) alles van een bepaald verzamelgebied hebt. Het is dan sneller om alles toe te voegen aan je verzameling en dan te verwijderen wat je nog mist. Een aantal gebruikers heeft ons gevraagd om deze optie en we luisteren graag naar jullie feedback.
Hoe werkt het?
Bij een verzamelgebied zie je in de linkerkolom de optie: “Bulk toevoegen aan je verzameling”. Als je deze kiest dan krijg je een pop-up waarin je kunt aangeven in welke conditie de meeste items die je hebt zich bevinden. Alles wordt in die conditie toegevoegd, je kunt later eventueel wijzigen wat niet klopt. Zo ziet het er uit:
Bij toevoegen in bulk wordt onderscheid gemaakt tussen toevoegen van reguliere items en toevoegen van curiosa. Voor dat laatste moet je eerst in de linker kolom de Curiosa optie aanklikken.
In Strips kun je ook eerst een Albumreeks selecteren binnen een Serie. Dan wordt alleen die Albumreeks toegevoegd en niet de hele serie.
Wat kun je nog meer verwachten?
De komende weken gaan we nog veel nieuwe zaken aan de site toevoegen. We zitten nog vol plannen en de site kan nog veel beter. Hier een kleine greep:
- een forum (vanaf volgende week);
- het apart vermelden van Tijdschriftpublicaties / Knipsels in Strips: die staan nu soms wat hinderlijk tussen de albums; ze worden apart opvraagbaar en zijn dan niet meer standaard zichtbaar;
- in Strips komen bij verzamelgebieden van Auteurs en Uitgevers ook lijsten met de series die zij hebben gemaakt of uitgegeven, zodat daar meteen overzicht over is;
- de optie “Achtergrondinformatie” bij ieder verzamelgebied waarin informatie over het verzamelgebied zelf kan worden toegevoegd.

Om goed prioriteiten te kunnen stellen, horen we graag ook van jou! We willen je vragen om ons feedback te geven. We zijn erg benieuwd naar je ervaringen met Catawiki en naar wat je graag nog verbeterd zou zien. Stuur ons eens een mailtje!

Catawiki is now a week old. Hundreds of items are already being added and improved to the catalog every day. We are very happy with that!
Something New
As of today, Catawiki offers something new: the possibility to add an entire collection area to your collection in one go. This can be a complete series, but also everything from, for example, a particular author, artist or publisher.
Very useful if you have (almost) everything from a certain collection area. It is then faster to add everything to your collection and then delete what you are missing. A number of users have asked us for this option and we would love to hear your feedback.
How does it work?
In a collection area you will see the option in the left column: “Add bulk to your collection”. If you choose this, you will get a pop-up in which you can indicate in which condition most of the items you have are. Everything is added in that condition, you can later change what is not correct. This is what it looks like:
When adding in bulk, a distinction is made between adding regular items and adding curiosities. For the latter you must first click the Curiosa option in the left column.
In Comics you can also first select an Album Series within a Series. Then only that Album series will be added and not the entire series.
What else can you expect?
In the coming weeks we will be adding a lot of new things to the site. We are still full of plans and the site could be much better. Here is a small selection:
- a forum (starting next week);
- mentioning Magazine publications / Clippings in Comics separately: they are now sometimes a bit annoying between the albums; they can be retrieved separately and are then no longer visible by default;
- In Comics, the collection areas of Authors and Publishers also contain lists of the series they have made or published, so that there is an immediate overview;
- the “Background Information” option for each collection area in which information about the collection area itself can be added.

We hebben er nog niets aan gedaan maar mooi dat het weer werkt :-)
Er zijn wel problemen met Verhalen toevoegen en wijzigen. Die gaan we snel oplossen.
We haven't done anything about it yet, but it's nice that it works again :-)
There are issues with adding and editing Stories. We will solve this quickly.

enne, de aanschafwaarde is voor de gemiddelde bezoeker veel makkelijker in te vullen dan de cataloguswaarde. Voor de cataloguswaarde moet je eigenlijk echt een striphandelaar zijn, omdat je dan echt expertise hebt op dit gebied.
Anyway, the purchase value is much easier for the average visitor to enter than the catalog value. For the catalog value you really have to be a comic book dealer, because then you have real expertise in this area.
Hee, dat zou goed moeten werken in IE7. Niet dus. Gaan we snel naar kijken.

Ons idee is om in ieder verzamelgebied (dat kan voor strips een serie zijn, auteur, uitgever e.d.) een specifiek forum te hebben dat weer onderdeel is van het algehele forum waar je nu op zit.
Als je bijvoorbeeld bij Bommel en Tom Poes of bij Toonder op Forum klikt kom je in een specifiek forum waar je alles kunt overleggen over dat specifieke onderwerp.
Het idee is om niet vooraf voor ieder gebied een forum aanmaken maar dat pas te doen bij de eerste post. Dit moeten we nog wel wat verder uitwerken. Misschien hebben jullie hier ook ideeën over?
Our idea is to have a specific forum in each collection area (which can be a series, author, publisher, etc.) that is part of the overall forum you are currently on.
For example, if you click on Forum at Bommel en Tom Poes or at Toonder, you will enter a specific forum where you can discuss everything about that specific topic.
The idea is not to create a forum for each area beforehand, but only to do so with the first post. We still have to work this out a bit further. Maybe you have ideas about this too?

Als je een tweede auteur (scenaris, tekenaar, …) wil toevoegen, dan krijg je geen keuzelijst meer te zien die datgene wat je reeds ingetikt hebt automatisch aanvuld.
Dit is denk ik een browser specifiek probleem. In Firefox gaat het bij mij wel goed. Welke browser gebruik je?
Verder zijn er inderdaad nog problemen met verhalen invoeren waar we snel iets aan willen doen. Het klopt dat je nu bij een nieuw item maar 1 verhaal kunt toevoegen en bij wijzigen wel meer. Staat hoog op onze ToDo lijst.
Het is inderdaad beter om de naam altijd uit de dropdown te halen. Dat voorkomt het onnodig aanmaken van een auteur of serie die net afwijkt van de al bestaande.

Furthermore, there are indeed still problems with introducing stories that we want to do something about quickly. It is true that now you can only add 1 story for a new item and more when changing. High on our ToDo list.
Indeed, it is better to always get the name from the dropdown. This prevents the unnecessary creation of an author or series that differs from the existing one.

Zelf vond ik vooral de quote lastig omdat die inderdaad niet afgesloten wordt.
We moeten denk ik in ieder geval even naar de toelichting kijken.

Zoeken op ISBN zet ik op onze to-do lijst. Wat we willen doen is op de zoekresultatenpagina uitgebreidere zoekmogelijkheden bieden, ook op andere velden en bijvoorbeeld in specifieke gebieden zoals shops of gebruikers.
Search for ISBN I put on our to-do list. What we want to do is offer more extensive search options on the search results page, also in other fields and, for example, in specific areas such as shops or users.
Zolang je je browser niet afsluit, en niet op onze site uitlogt, hoef je niet opnieuw in te loggen als je terugkeert naar Catawiki (ook niet als je intussen andere sites hebt bekeken). Dus de tip is om je browser niet af te sluiten maar te minimaliseren als je iets anders aan het doen bent.
As long as you do not close your browser and log out of our site, you do not have to log in again when you return to Catawiki (even if you have viewed other sites in the meantime). So the tip is not to close your browser but to minimize it if you are doing something else.
enne, dat ie dan ook onthoud welke topics op het forum ik gelezen heb en welke niet? Want volgens mij zie ik alleen van de die groene ‘ongelezen’ icoontjes wanneer er tijdens mijn huidige inlogtijd een nieuw bericht geplaatst wordt…

Is het mogelijk er voor te zorgen dat je je niet telkens opnieuw moet aanloggen telkens je de site opnieuw bezoekt? Met behulp van een cookie of zo?
Nu bezoek ik de site vaak meermaals per dag en telkens opnieuw moet ik me terug inloggen…

Ik heb daar geen problemen mee gehad. Wat me wel opvalt is dat je de eerste keer een item toevoegen, je maar 1 x een verhaal, tekenaar en schrijver kunt invullen, daarna opslaan en opnieuw het item bewerken om de volgende verhalen toe te voegen.
Wat me ook opvalt is dat je soms even moet wachten op reactie vd DBS dat deze automatisch de keuzelijst laat zien.
Wat ik altijd voor de zekerheid doe is niet de volledige naam intikken, zodat de keuzelijst tevoorschijn komt, en ik de juiste naam kan aanklikken.
I haven't had any problems with that. What strikes me is that you add an item the first time, you can only fill in a story, artist and writer once, then save and edit the item again to add the following stories.
I also notice that you sometimes have to wait for a response from DBS which will automatically show the selection list.
What I always do to be on the safe side is not to enter the full name, so that the drop-down list appears, and I can click on the correct name.
