This hand-signed color lithograph comes from the earlier stages of the artist's printmaking oeuvre. Starting in 1952, the year this print was published, Chagall produced prints hundreds of prints over more than 30 years. His pictures convey a dreamlike quality, and he is often cited as one of the precursors to the Surrealist movement. All of his works display a striking use of color, their vitality and originality ensuring his position as one of the most important and beloved artists of the 20th Century.
