What's wrong with this review.
Then comment on this overview, then things will become clear for the other collectors.
1- French Indochina 1892-1954 (together with Laos, Cambodia and some Chinese cities viz. Canton, Hoi Hao, Mongtze, Packhoi, Tchongking and Yunnansen)
2- North Vietnam 1946-1976
- Under Ho Chi Minh 1945-1946 (Not recognized by the UPU for political reasons, according to some non-Vietnam collectors Cinderelas)
- Communist issues for Central Vietnam 1946-195 4 (Not recognized by the UPU for political reasons, according to some non-Vietnam collectors therefore Cinderelas)
- Vietcong issues 1963-1976 (South Vietnamese liberation army under Ho Chi Minh 1963-1976 (Not recognized by the UPU for political reasons, according to some non-Vietnam collectors therefore Cinderela's)
- North Vietnam 1946-1976
3 - South Vietnam 1951-1975
- Under Emperor Bao-Dai 1951-1954

In my opinion it is a clear - and complete overview,
Can't we use this as a discussion piece?

@Sinbad-de-Zeeman
1. 1945-1946: Noord-Vietnam bestaat nog niet (pas officieel in 1954). Op dat ogenblik is het Vietnam (van 1885 tot 1940 onafhankelijk onder Frans protectoraat, daarna onder Japanse bezetting, opnieuw onafhankelijk in 1945 en erkend door Frankrijk en nogmaals onafhankelijk verklaard door Frankrijk in 1949 met keizer Bao Dai als staatshoofd);
2. Centraal-Vietnam 1946-1954: behoort ook niet tot Noord-Vietnam, vermits pas opgericht in 1954 (zie 1.)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Provisional_Revolutionary_Government_of_the_Republic_of_South_Vietnam
@Sinbad-de-Zeeman
At first glance, your overview seems to look good and gives the impression that the postal areas should be set up the same way. I still saw a lot of inconsistencies:
The expenditures of North Vietnam sub 1-:
1. 1945-1946: North Vietnam does not yet exist (only officially in 1954). At that point it is Vietnam (independent from 1885 to 1940 under French protectorate, then under Japanese occupation, independent again in 1945 and recognized by France and declared independence again by France in 1949 with Emperor Bao Dai as head of state);
2. Central Vietnam 1946-1954: also not part of North Vietnam, since it was only founded in 1954 (see 1.)
3. Vietcong editions 1963-1976: if I understand correctly, these are editions intended to be used in South Vietnam. If yes, these issues should be under South Vietnam (in the nature of North Vietnamese post offices in South Vietnam). By the way, you yourself have changed the originally incorrectly entered stamps in the North Vietnam catalog and placed them under South Vietnam (Viet Cong).
4. North Vietnam 1946-1976: ignores the fact that North Vietnam only existed from 1954).
As for the Provisional Revolutionary Government, I do not refer to Yvert but to the following link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Provisional_Revolutionary_Government_of_the_Republic_of_South_Vietnam
So it's not simple. And then I'm not even talking about the stamps themselves (whether or not cinderellas).
Beste Tapir

Dear Tapir
It is good to see that the first adjustments have been made:
What I think was already established has already been changed, namely
Vietnam
Vietnam - North Vietnam
Vietnam - South Vietnam
It is also good to see that the discussion is started.
Nobody will deny that it is a difficult discussion.
But with respect to each other, this discussion should work and then we can add some stones again.
With kind regards,

Tapir,
Bedankt dat je inhoudelijk wordt :)
1. 1945-1946: Noord-Vietnam bestaat nog niet (pas officieel in 1954). Op dat ogenblik is het Vietnam (van 1885 tot 1940 onafhankelijk onder Frans protectoraat, daarna onder Japanse bezetting, opnieuw onafhankelijk in 1945 en erkend door Frankrijk en nogmaals onafhankelijk verklaard door Frankrijk in 1949 met keizer Bao Dai als staatshoofd);
1) Vietnam (Noord)
2) Vietnam (Zuid)
3) Vietnam (Vietcong)
4) Vietnam (Herenigd)
Een goede oplossing
Note: de hoofdrolspelers in dit drama:
De valse geslepen Ngo Dinh Diem
De marioneten keizer Bao-Dai
Rode rakker Ho Chi Minh

Tapir,
Thanks for getting substantive :)
1. 1945-1946: North Vietnam does not yet exist (only officially in 1954). At that point it is Vietnam (independent from 1885 to 1940 under French protectorate, then under Japanese occupation, independent again in 1945 and recognized by France and declared independence again by France in 1949 with Emperor Bao Dai as head of state);
Officially correct on paper, in practice Ho Chi Minh and his blood brothers had large parts of Vietnam under control right at the end of the Japanese occupation (including weapons obtained from sympathizing defeated Japanese troops) before the French had time to send troops to replace the Japanese occupation forces.
Officially the French were the replacements for the Japanese, in practice the French had nothing to say in large parts of mainly North and Central Vietnam.
Emperor Bao Dai, installed by the French, only had ''power'' (he was a puppet of the French) in the south where the French had some control, which is why the stamps issued under Bao Dai now fall philatelic under South Vietnam .
In 1955, the crafty, Roman Catholic and 'false' politician Ngo-Dinh-Diem organizes a referendum in South Vietnam on an empire under Bao Dai or a republic under precisely...himself...with forgeries and manipulations he himself wins (the old emperor was popular in practice) and South Vietnam becomes a republic
2. Central Vietnam 1946-1954: also not part of North Vietnam, since it was only founded in 1954 (see 1.)
Indian see above
3. Vietcong editions 1963-1976: if I understand correctly, these are editions intended to be used in South Vietnam. If yes, these issues should be under South Vietnam (in the nature of North Vietnamese post offices in South Vietnam). By the way, you yourself have changed the originally incorrectly entered stamps in the North Vietnam catalog and placed them under South Vietnam (Vietcong).
I also think that's right, that's why they are under South Vietnam (Viet Cong), politically and politically they belonged to North Vietnam
4. North Vietnam 1946-1976: ignores the fact that North Vietnam only existed from 1954).
No, under pressure from France, the UN refused to recognize Vietnam (as well as Indonesia, for example) in 1954 they could no longer deny the facts (as well as Indonesia),
You can deny that something does not exist officially (but that is political and I am a collector), if you traveled through North Vietnam in 1949 you did not meet a Frenchman, you saw Vietnamese troops, you paid with Vietnamese money and on your letter if you affixed a Vietnamese stamp, it cannot officially exist (because France was a major player at the UN) In practice they were 100% independent
Catalogs like Yvert also existed at that time and went along with the political moris of that time and she is also French, they were not able to change that later. We now live in the 21st century and we now know the truth (how It is over). let's just build a realistic catalog with the data as it turned out (the reality) and not the political cold war world of 1950 that was full of east-west propaganda.
Never use mainly and only information from the (then) enemy.
Yvert is one of the best catalogs (often better than Michel in terms of content)
But Michel is technically much better in Vietnam because they are more independent (are not party to this)...my tip look how Michel has handled the complicated issue, they have found the most widely accepted solution among Vietnam collectors
For Catawiki it is
1) Vietnam (North)
2) Vietnam (South)
3) Vietnam (Viet Cong)
4) Vietnam (Reunited)
A good solution
Note: the main characters in this drama:
The false crafty Ngo Dinh Diem
The puppet Emperor Bao-Dai
Red rascal Ho Chi Minh
