Damn, I prepared something so clean as a background page for Buriatia. In notepad my Russian characters were neatly legible (at least for Russians), with copy / paste on LD there are now question marks.
Is there a trick to copy those characters nicely?
I will inquire if that is already possible.

My notepad is set to UTF-8 by default. I suspect the Wiki is still in ANSI? ANSI can't handle those arty curls.

Russisch: Мордовия, Mordovija
In the field 'Particulars' it is possible to present those writings neatly.
Try it here (on the forum):
Russian: Мордовия, Mordoviya

Well Aart, I think so. Mordovia has just been launched (also under the Russian Federation, with appendix -Cinderella).
Not all at once, because there are quite a few duplications. Or items with a lot of missing or incorrect data (eg no year, or an impossible year of 'issue'). I'm looking bad, but it's going in the right direction.

Ja Aart, alle hulp is welkom.
- (fake-)landsnaam uit de titel;
- in titel uniforme naam (andere taalvakjes ledigen om goed te vertalen;
- in serie ook de landsnaam verwijderen;
- basiskleur = 'Meerkleurig' (meestal toch);

Yes Aart, any help is welcome. I tackled them again because when converting:
- (fake) country name from the title;
- uniform name in title (empty other language boxes to translate correctly;
- in series also the country name remove;
- basic color = 'Multi-colored' (usually anyway);
- with perforation 'serrated' or 'dentless'.
Then at least something has been filled in, looks better in the list.
In Fantasyland, selecting is now easier via the 'title', which can be searched in flaming rap, and you can click on a series with the scroll wheel so that that window remains open. You will then get the series in a new working window. It was a real job in advance to provide all those serial names with that indication, and it must be undone when transferring, but it has already yielded a lot (so many duplicates spontaneously surfaced).

Batumi is a normal particle (1918-1920, under British rule, mainly stamps with overprint)
Presumably the rest of the items fall under '- Cinderella'. If
Well, Batum, Batumi, Batumi ... actually that is a city in Adjara that is part of the state of Georgia. For now, leave them lying where they hang out. If there is a split (on LD admittedly lol) then the Fantasy Landers of this species can also go there.

I don't know anything about it ... and will therefore not touch it.
I just conclude: We have a Congo-Brazzaville and a Congo-Kinshasa? Should we also have a Congo-Kinshasa - Cinderella?

Batum was occupied by the Allies as a result of the armistice with Turkey. The first stamps were issued under the responsibility and by the civil administration of the Batum region in early 1919 to restart postal traffic. Shortly afterwards, the British military authority took over. Eventually the area was transferred to the National Republic of Georgia (7 July 1920).
Stamps: one design, also with Russian and / or English overprint. Also overprinted Russian stamps. A total of 53 stamps in my printing, plus the necessary "deviations". I suggest putting them with Georgia up to 1920, with country index reference to Georgia.
Subsequent issues will all be Georgian Cinderellas as long as no one can show a real run.

voorbeelden: #4478497 #4478493 #4478603 #4478689 #4478621
Aart, in Batumi a number of combination offers are directly in the catalog as one item. Two things together in one.
Would you like to take a look and choose? Then put a scan of one item on it, and add a new one for the other item? When selling, I assume that they can then be taken together (combination offer). But in the catalog they must all be unique items, unless with series (different stamps that together form a complete series).
I have not yet transferred them to 'Batumi - Cinderella', I will leave that pleasure for you, after the customization :)
examples: # 4478497 # 4478493 # 4478603 # 4478689 # 4478621

Is mijn idee hierover uiteraard :)
How do you recognize whether something should be done in the country or in Cinderella, specialist work with catalog
Sometimes you can see it in the item itself, sometimes it is knowledge through experience, sometimes you know it by consulting a catalog (Lastdodo for example). You can also find out something by inquiring (doing research yourself) about a 'nice picture with teeth around it'.
This is called collecting stamps. A collector is ALWAYS hungry for facts, is ALWAYS willing to share that knowledge (via Lastdodo for example), and is ALWAYS searching. Stamps on LD are from and for collectors.
On Lastdodo, all this knowledge comes together as a result of the hard work of those who add and update the items. This way, a layman can find out afterwards what kind of meat he has in the tub. Someone makes an effort, everything else can enjoy (or profit) from it.
Anyone who really doesn't know anything about it doesn't add. You can often find some information about an item on the internet. The question can always be asked on the forum since images can be placed in those messages.
There are already a lot of items in the catalog with almost no data. Sometimes with an image that you can't make out of (blurry, skewed, poor quality ...). Sometimes very obvious for someone who takes a 'screenprint' of something he finds 'similar' on the internet, to make an image of something that is then added without additional data. Hoping that after that someone can do magic ...
I would like to make a warm call to the 'programming department' to build in a minimum check when adding images. If the quality (pixels or dpi or similar) is below level ... equate as 'no image has been added'. And prevent quality items from being thrown together. It's easy now: I have a picture, don't know anything about it and don't want to look up anything about it (in other words: I really don't want to bother). I spin it quickly on LD. If necessary, without a country, without a year, without ... and with the title 'stamp'. And then just hope that someday there will be a good soul somewhere who will make the effort. Only to have to establish after years that it is actually a duplication. That it's something you could find on Lastdodo. In short: problems due to laziness. Is my idea of course :)
These are NOT collectors. In other words, do not belong to the target group (LD is by and for collectors!).
They are picture viewers. The alternative for that group is a section with one big heap of pictures, with only a title below ('Animals', 'Flowers', ...). Without additional data. The primary form. Nada gray matter. A picture book as there are many for the age category 2-3 years. But then one where you can look around for years without getting around. After all, it contains hundreds of thousands of pictures. Maybe something like this should be made for a certain group. Then those years can look at nice (blurry) pictures of colleagues non-collectors :) :) :) Everyone has his own thing.
Clou: how many buyers and sellers would you think such a picture book would attract?
Fortunately, the vast majority of what is added in Stamps on LD is of solid quality, with plenty of data, in a solid structure. Where you can search ... and find.

I have also added Congo-Brazzaville - Cinderella
From Fantasyland and Congo - Brazzaville they have now left and moved to the '- Cinderella' area.
Except 2017 and 2018: there are still 5 in Congo - Brazzaville. My catalog doesn't go that far. Is a 2014-2015 copy of the central part of Africa.
Normally I think they are also Cinderella's. Normally those stamps say 'Postes' somewhere. And that word does not appear on those 5.
If someone with a more recent catalog can check it?
There are almost no official stamps issued in that recent years ... turbulent regions there ... and many 'entrepreneurs' have benefited from this.

Found in JLowe's archive: they are all 'Bogus stamps' (illegal issues).
Following areas are now completely filled with scattered items on LastDodo:
India - Nagaland - Cinderella
Russian Federation - Buryatia - Cinderella
Russian Federation - Mordovia - Cinderella
Russian Federation - Udmurtia - Cinderella
Congo-Brazzaville - Cinderella
Batumi - Cinderella
Fantasy land is on a diet: 2,338 items left.
[Unspecified] has been traced to 138 items.
Next areas to be filled:
Russian Federation - Dagestan
Areas that I may provide (including many items from [Unspecified]):
Congo-Kinshasa (Zaire) - Cinderella
I see that 'Indonesia - Viennese editions' has also been added '- Cinderella '. However, I was convinced that most of those stamps were valid for (short) use after independence.
In the archive of JLowe concerning 'Illegal Stamps' nothing about it is mentioned in any case.
From a certain date they were included in Michel ('Allgemeine Ausgaben'). With the remark that because of the blockade they arrived in Indonesia - for use - only later.
From a certain date (mid-seventies) Zonnebloem no longer admitted them. If anyone knows the reason, please let me know. After all, Zonnebloem pretends to be the 'Official catalog' for Indonesia.
There are 2 highly specialized catalogs specifically for these types of stamps: Prangko and Dai Nippon.
A description by Leo Vosse suggests that these are indeed Stamps , and no Cinderellas:

The stamps with these overprints were immediately valid for postage.
On April 24, 1951, all stamps printed in Vienna and Philadelphia were sent in 360 copies to the UPU in Bern with the request to register the stamps as official stamps of the Re public Indonesia. All stamps sent to the UPU are serrated in the original perforation: 14, so not in the reprint perforation with line serration 13¾.
In the August issue of the monthly magazine of the UPU (Union Postale, no.8, August 1951) these stamps are officially announced as being postage stamps of the Republic of Indonesia.

https://www.wnsstamps.post/en/Stamps-Search?terms=&sorting=0&countryId=&year=&month=&themeId=#stamps-result

How do you recognize whether something should be done in the country or in Cinderella, specialist work with catalog
Now I found an interesting resource to check whether a stamp is a postage stamp (official).
On the site of the UPU itself, a database filled up from 2002 to 2020. From 2002 to 2020 there are approximately 100,000 real stamps issued. You can interrogate by country and by year.
You really don't have to be a specialist to view the pictures. But of course, it takes a little effort ...

The database also contains a kind of ingenious numbering system called WDAP.
When I look at the stamps of Congo (Republic), I see, among other things, that 2007 to 2013 no stamps have been issued by Congo, République du (Brazzaville, the Congo ex-colony of France). There was one issue in 2015, nothing from 2016 to 2020.
It is a turbulent region ... with a lot of misery. Ideal for profiteers who then mislead (swindle) the gullible stamp collector for their own profit.

Already often used for management work Good website, sometimes not completely correct with regard to the mentioned perforations and date of issue. This is probably because it is often based on pre-release announcements, which may differ from the final data as presented afterwards in printed catalogs.
