Land Nominale-waarde Jaar “variatie”
A Berlin” of “A (Berlin)”.
“kwartje”, “0,5 mark” i.p.v. 50 pfennig, “0,01 dollar” i.p.v. 1 cent, “0,05 euro” i.p.v. 5 cent, enzovoorts.
Great if you help to complete the coin catalog.
First, make sure that a coin you want to add is not already in the catalog. In addition to using the search engine, try to look logically by country and year.
If the coin is really not there yet, try to keep things a bit “uniform” by going through the following things first:
We try to keep the title of all coins unique, which can be done by using roughly this naming convention:
Country Face value Year “variation”
If the country is the Netherlands, do not do so, so “5 cent 2003” is a Dutch currency, “Belgium 5 cent 2003” is a Belgian currency.
Because, for example, German coins are minted in different cities, recognizable by the mint mark A, D, F, G and J, I put the mintmark behind it, so “Germany 5 cents 2003 F”
If the year is not entirely certain, as with archaeological finds for example, it is better to leave it out.
If you enter German coins, you only want to enter the one letter A, D, F, G or J at Mint mark, and not “A Berlin” or “A (Berlin)”. The city will then automatically come up with it once the currency has been introduced.
Regarding the nominal value, we want to have a fraction of the largest currency, so “0.25 guilders” instead of “quarter”, “0.5 mark” instead of 50 pfennig, “0.01 dollar” instead of 1 cent, “0, 05 euro ”instead of 5 cents, and so on.
Tips:
- Klik op “Find My Coin”
- Kies een categorie ( meestal World )
- Vul enkele velden in ( country, denomination, date )
- Klik op “Find My Coin”
Tips:
- Use a coin catalog to find out information about the coin.
- Use Numismaster's (free) "Find My Coin" feature to find out information about the coin:
- Click on “Find My Coin”
- Choose a category (usually World )
- Fill in some fields ( country , denomination , date )
- Click on “Find My Coin”
Twee toevoegingen bij afbeeldingen:
Two additions to images:
1. Preferably scan or photograph the coin NOT in the coin holder. this often gives strange "spots" on the coin, which are caused by the adhering of the coin to the foil.
2. Make sure that the entire coin is on the scan / photo. Some of the current coins have the "sides" flattened, which is a shame.
3. If in doubt, do not portray the coin. Several counterfeit coins are now depicted.
I see that quite a few pennies have ended up between the coins, for example
383045
Tokens are certainly also collectibles, but they do not belong in the coins section.
There is a separate section for it.
Perhaps an administrator can put them in the correct section.

@ErikBoere: The discussion about whether or not to enter Pennies does not belong in this thread.
If you want to try to enter each topic of discussion in only 1 forum thread, that makes a huge difference.
Hoi eric
Hi eric
I think it certainly belongs in this thread as well, as this thread is all about adding new coins. Since tokens are added regularly and they belong in a separate section, this seems appropriate to me here. Indeed the aamn bid is covered elsewhere - because outside of this thread in another thread, instructions are given on how to enter tokens ... so these directions are probably in the wrong section.
In ieders ogen.
Don't really want to get involved, but a lot of "tokens" are just coins. Once used to pay and only later really collected and renamed to a medal.
Anyway, it is and will remain a currency. In everyone's eyes.
But the fishes that the collect club issues will never really become legal tender and the ECUs and Turkish tasting euros are not to be taken seriously as currency.
I briefly considered opening a shop here, but after studying the various categories in the lists, I decided not to do this, certainly not because of the cumbersome method of checking per coin whether it is is not in the catalog. As a user I want to see what I am bidding on, and not on a photo of a catalog number.
Regarding the mentioned 383045 lot. This medal was a premium of the Year Set Stamps 1999, which was given to the Year Set subscribers as a present. I wonder how the selling party got its list price. I myself am selling this token for 50 cents to the enthusiast in unc.
Krause Mishler as a world catalog uses different price codes for the Netherlands such as the Mevius or the Almanac, and the German Battenberg also gives completely different price indications, which also differ from the year used.
To what extent are catalog prices checked here with the latest editions, which are printed annually?
For example, more questions remain, since the Matla, for example, is renewed every few years in the comic book section, and the price differences between, for example, the Matla on the one hand and the Vandersteen Standard catalog on the other. I consider the risk to be quite high that when I use the 2009 catalog with a coin of, for example, the 2 Hryvna Ukraine KM 48 National Bank, which is quoted in the 2006 edition for $ 75 unc, and in 2009 already $ 345 unc.
If this coin is already depicted in Catawiki, you can imagine that when in a price explosion such as eg. in the case of the Spanish 200 pesetas, Polish 2 Zlotych commemoratives and Ukrainian coins in particular, these explosions are not continued in the price valuations which are mentioned in the price indicator under the photo. When I use the latest edition while the person who has made the effort to post the photo on Catawiki has used a few years old catalog, I get a negative image as the undersigned, as I use the most up-to-date prices aimed at current market events.
Vidocq as a comic by Hans G. Kresse has been too high in the Matla for years, a little copy is already difficult to sell for 5 euros, despite the high list price. Paulus de boskabouter also has high quotations, but the Eikelmannetjes is very difficult to sell for 25 euros, despite the high quotation of Holkema and Warendorff 1973.
Teveel errors.
what I also miss in the forum section is the ability to independently add or change things in self-written postings; even the removal of messages is missing. Once written, written remains here.
I cannot upload an image of myself with a posting. Too many errors.
I've been reading messages for an hour now. Answers to topics succeed, but nothing more. As a writer, the formatting hints are of little use to me.
You cannot correct a writing error afterwards. I find that disturbing as a user of Catawiki.
Finally, I miss the ability to see the front and back of an object. I looked at Latvia, for example, where a different image appears on the coin itself every year 1 or 2 times. I only see a year side and nothing else.
The Swirling Water Bag from Suske en Wiske has a regular back and a specially drawn back, both of which are regularly distributed. As a user, it seems necessary to me that I can also see the back of the title, partly due to the printed data code that Standard Publishing uses to this day by placing it on the back of the album. As a user, you can see whether a first edition is actually a first edition, and not a first reprint, which eg. with no. 128 Het Brommende Brons in the year of publication has been produced in 2 print runs.
Oh yes, I have KVK . Pro-Shop policy looks fine.
I am a collector who has taken the step of trading his doubles open and naked and not under the table; in other words, I am liable to pay VAT . I have business-technical in my Qoopshop for 40 euros per year as a Powerseller subscription for about 15,000 euros in coins of around the euro.
How much is 5% of the 14,800 euros (200 euros free)? I am selling a third of this display window, how much is 5% of 5000 euros?
Sorry, but I am cheaper on Qoop, because there you can buy off for 40 euros per year. So I have decided to answer questions only on the forum and not to open a shop here.

On Qoop you have to sell for at least 800 euros a year before you spend cheaper than here. Is that possible?
(Serious question, not sarcastic.)

@ Grivnagozer,
@ Grivnagozer,
The plan is to automatically derive list prices from the prices at which an item is actually sold and based on what is being asked for in shops (we then remove the extremes). In this way, the catalog value remains up-to-date (more up-to-date than is possible in a paper catalogue).
Since we have already completely strayed from the purpose of this topic: for a further discussion see this earlier topic
Thanks for the comments. especially experiment626 and Arwin have helped me a lot to learn to use Catawiki as a new user.
I'm just going to read rene's earlier topic.
