Film/Persoonsnamen, achternamen, namen

De invoer van persooonsnamen is soms ingewikkeld en verschillende invoerders gaan daar verschillend mee om. In de hoop zo veel mogelijk tot uniforme invoer te komen deze vraag.

Bij de invoer van personen ga ik zo veel mogelijk uit van de aanwijzingen zoals opgenomen in Catawiki Invoer Vademecum Voor Platen en CD’s. Een dergelijke aanwijzing zou ook heel handig voor video gegevensdragers zijn overigins.

PERSOONSNAMEN Persoonsnamen worden ingevoerd in de volgorde achternaam (met hoofdletter), voornaam (met hoofdletter). Tussenvoegsels (met kleine letters) worden na de voornaam geplaatst. Doopnamen worden niet ingevoerd. Deze kunnen bij de achtergrondpagina’s worden geplaatst. Nijs, Rob de Lennon, John (en niet Lennon, John Winston)

Deze beschrijving dekt helaas niet alle situaties.

- Bij tussenvoegsels wordt in Nederland kleine letters gebruikt. In het buitenland is het echter vaak met een hoofdletter geschreven en hoort het bij de achternaam. 

Voorbeeld: Philippe Le Guay. Hoe voer ik deze nu in?

Le Guay, Philippe of Guay, Philippe Le of zelfs Guay, Philippe le??

Naar mijn idee is alleen de eerste versie juist omdat de schrijfwijze uit het land van afkomst leidend zou moeten zijn en door de hoofdletter dit deel uitmaakt van de achternaam en niet als tussenvoegsel moet worden gezien.

En hoe gaan we om met Chinese en andere niet Europese namen? Vaak is het voor mij niet eens duidelijk wat de voornaam en wat de achternaam is.

Ik ga zo veel mogelik uit van IMDb maar ook daar is niet duidelijk aangegeven wat de voor of wat de achternaam is.

Tot slot nog het probleem van de diakritische tekens (accenten boven of onder een letter) en vreemde buitenlandse letters. Hoe gaan we daar bij voorkeur mee om?

The entry of personal names is sometimes complicated and different importers handle this differently. In the hope of achieving uniform input as much as possible, this question.

When entering persons, I use the instructions as included in Catawiki's Import Vademecum For Records and CDs as much as possible. Such an indication would also be very useful for video data carriers by the way.

PERSONAL NAMES Person names are entered in the order last name (capital letter), first name (capital letter). Infixes (with lowercase letters) are placed after the first name. Names are not entered. These can be placed with the background pages. Nijs, Rob de Lennon, John (and not Lennon, John Winston)

Unfortunately, this description does not cover all situations.

- Small letters are used in the Netherlands for infixes. Abroad, however, it is often capitalized and associated with the surname.

Example: Philippe Le Guay. How do I enter it now?

In my opinion, only the first version is correct because the spelling from the country of origin should be leading and the capital letter makes it part of the surname and should not be seen as an infix.

And how do we deal with Chinese and other non-European names? Often it is not even clear to me what the first name and what the last name is.

I use IMDb as much as possible, but there too it is not clearly indicated what the first or last name is.

Finally, the problem of diacritics (accents above or below a letter) and strange foreign letters. How do we prefer to deal with that?
