Ik heb gemerkt dat de CD-i http://www.catawiki.nl/catalogus/dvd-video-blu-ray/dragers-media/1221609-cdi en Video CD http://www.catawiki.nl/catalogus/dvd-video-blu-ray/dragers-media/397885-vcd-video-cd secties op catawiki een grote puinhoop zijn. Een groot deel van het probleem is Catawiki zelf. Er zijn namelijk 3 verschillende video formaten:
1. Video CD (aka "Compact Disc Digital Video" aka "VCD") = white book standard - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_CD
2. Philips CD-i (aka "Compact Disc Interactive") = green book standard - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philips_CD-i . Er bestaan slechts een beperkt aantal van deze discs gezien Philips al snel de Video CD standaard begon te gebruiken voor films. Veel van die Video CDs zitten echter wel in een CD-i doosje
3. CD Video = een analoog video formaat zoals Laserdisc - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD_Video
Om de een of andere reden staat er in de "Video CD" sectie op catawiki het "CD Video" logo met de woorden CD en VIDEO omgedraaid. Er werd dus zelfs moeite gedaan door Catawiki om verwarring te creëren :)
Het zou dus handig zijn als:
a. er een CD Video sectie wordt gemaakt met het juiste logo
b. het logo in de Video CD sectie wordt vervangen door het juiste logo, namelijk "Compact Disc Digital Video"
c. alle releases worden verplaatst naar de correcte sectie. Voor CD-i zitten er ook nog eens een hoop interactieve titels tussen die naar de video games sectie moeten en omgekeerd (van video games naar films).
I noticed that the CD-i http://www.catawiki.nl/catalogus/dvd-video-blu-ray/dragers-media/1221609-cdi and Video CD http://www.catawiki.nl/catalogus/ dvd-video-blu-ray/carriers-media/397885-vcd-video-cd sections on catawiki are a complete mess. A big part of the problem is Catawiki itself. There are 3 different video formats:

For some reason the "Video CD" section on Catawiki has the "CD Video" logo with the words CD and VIDEO reversed. So even an effort was made by Catawiki to create confusion :)
So it would be useful if:
a. a CD Video section is created with the correct logo
b. the logo in the Video CD section is replaced by the correct logo, which is "Compact Disc Digital Video"
c. all releases are moved to the correct section. For CD-i there are also a lot of interactive titles that have to go to the video games section and vice versa (from video games to movies).

Ik zie trouwens dat jij ook een aantal VCDs in de CDi sectie hebt ingevoerd. De enige betrouwbare manier om het formaat te achterhalen is via een programma als ISOBuster. Sommige CD-i titels zijn later opnieuw gereleased als VCD terwijl er toch nog steeds "Digital Video on CD-i" op de cover staat ipv bv "Video CD". Ook dat "CD-i movies" logo rechts boven op amerikaanse discs wil helemaal niks zeggen

By the way, I see that you have also entered some VCDs in the CDi section. The only reliable way to find out the format is through a program like ISOBuster. Some CD-i titles were later re-released as VCD while still displaying "Digital Video on CD-i" on the cover instead of eg "Video CD". That "CD-i movies" logo at the top right on American discs also means nothing at all
De films boeien me niet, het is meer bijvangst bij het kopen van cdi games. Maar ik had begrepen dat er maar een beperkt aantal cdi films zijn verschenen, en dat Philips hardhollend is overgestapt naar vcd.
I don't care about the movies, it's more by-catch when buying cdi games. But I understood that only a limited number of CDi films have been released, and that Philips has rapidly switched to VCD.
beste arsenixa, het komt ook voor dat er verzamelaars zijn die niet (meer) de juiste afspeler hebben (maar wel willen tegen betaalbare prijzen ;) ). Of gewoon het betreffende medium verzamelen omdat het een leuke titel of een mooie verpakking heeft.
Ik ben namelijk zo iemand en heb ook bijvoorbeeld laserdiscs en zoek daar maar eens een goedkope speler voor ! ;)
Om die reden en omdat je toch niet altijd zo'n disc op je PC kan lezen, dan kunnen mensen zoals ik dat programma niet testen. Je kan dan dus alleen afgaan op de verpakking en dan heb je dus de beheerders die dat voor je corrigeren. Waarvoor alvast mijn hartelijke dank.

dear arsenixa, it also happens that there are collectors who do not have the right player (anymore) (but do want it at affordable prices;)). Or just collect the medium in question because it has a nice title or a nice packaging.
I am such a person and I also have laserdiscs, for example, and look for a cheap player for that! ;)
For that reason and because you cannot always read such a disc on your PC, people like me cannot test that program. So you can only rely on the packaging and then you have the administrators who correct that for you. Thank you very much for this.

Black Rain (9/93), Coneheads, The Firm (12/93), The Hunt For Red October (9/93), Indecent Proposal, The Naked Gun 2 1/2 (9/93), Patriot Games (9/93), Posse, Sliver, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (9/93), Top Gun (9/93), Wayne's World (2/94) and White Christmas (9/93).
The three U.S. titles released as of June, 1994 that were apparently Video CDs and not CDi-i DV titles were: Addams Family Values, Goldfinger (5/94), Wayne's World 2.
Therefore the switch from CD-i DV to Video CD was made between February and May of 1994, sometime between the authoring of "Wayne's World" and "Goldfinger". (If anyone can supply dates for the titles above I don't have, we might be able to narrow this down further.)
