Someone, who apparently has no political or philatelic knowledge about regions in Europe, has decided to let regional postage stamps of Great Britain lead a life of their own.
Well-intentioned in itself, but also very confusing now. What do you do with these 486371 , 1654009 , 2295639 ?
The person who is in charge of adjusting all that is limited to the only catalog that CW PZ recognizes. Internationally worthless and therefore the CW catalog is even less understood by non-Dutch people.
It is worse that previously imported stamps suddenly disappear from my collection/shop, but they have been entered as new items in the catalog. This is junk.
All collectors of regional UK stamps may start again by checking everything to complete their shop/collection, including their personal information (if you remember it).
Why are the specialized collectors not consulted? Is democracy a dirty word at CW?
@Rie, as you may or may not have seen
the listing of Regional and Regional stamps in the Great Britain catalog made the GB catalog a complete mess.
since in the regional edition of each stamp sometimes 5 different ones have been made by means of the phosphor bands and these have also been entered by you on different dates, which makes it confusing.
even worse because these are all mixed up with the GB edition, the Queen Elizabeth cups edition, where 5 of them have also been issued.
if you want to check a GB Queen Elizabeth series (1971) with all phosphor bands issues that were entered on different dates, you will see the total series from 1971 to 1977, however, because the regional and regional stamps have also been introduced in GB, you will get you see 24 pages for that 6 year overview, and that is just a mess.
after all, you should actually only see the GB series from 1971 to 1977.
now it is made clearer, each regional publication is created separately.
on the one hand to make it easier to check duplicates per region
and to be able to do this in GB as well.
Your comment that something is being removed is incorrect.
if you may have made a Duplicate, they are all parked on the last pages of each country for now.
the numbers you mention, nothing will happen to them for the time being, and come from booklets that have been published somewhere. and are then moved to that country if necessary.
@aartinge,
@aartinge,
You can indeed simplify a specialized complex matter, but is that useful if the quality is lost as a result? Those who do not understand the matter need more study, not simplification.
Someone who wants to specialize in GB better visit other stamp sites (100-den types, specialized in "Machins"). Only then do you learn how complex it is.
CW PZ has a faulty reasoning, and everyone has to comply with it. Just childish and hopelessly useless. In the case of stamps, regional means that that region does NOT issue its own stamps and does NOT have its own postal administration.
You know that a stamp without a country indication is a stamp of GB, and all regional GB stamps are usable over the entire GB area.
If you have a stamp that is canceled in London, Dublin or Edinburgh, which stamp do I have? It may be a Welsh regional stamp, but I can't find it in the GB catalogue. And, oh yes, you have to be able to distinguish those regional emblems to know this ...... Searches, duplications and stamps that end up in the wrong region ...... or they eventually give up.
That's what makes GB "Machins" so interesting; you have to constantly research what type of seal you have. A specialist "Machin" connoisseur understands the complexity, but CW PZ makes itself a kindergarten of pictures.
Please visit this Canadian site: http://www.adminware.ca/machin.htm and a world will open up for you. There are many other "Machin" sites, especially in UK, such as this one: http://www.connoisseurcatalogue.net/ .
Other than that, have fun trying to improve on the impossible.
The abyss for CW PZ is near, only CW doesn't know it yet.
@Rie, jou opmerking

@Rie, your comment

And, oh yes, you have to be able to distinguish those regional emblems to know this......... Search, duplications and stamps that end up in the wrong region......or they eventually give up.
that's what it's finally about, that you know where that stamp comes from.
you can see from the emblem on the regional stamps where that stamp comes from, even if it would have been canceled in London.
and these are no longer in the GB catalogue, but in GB Wales catalogue, and so now you have the GB Northern Ireland, and the GB England, and the GB Scotland.
finally clear.
and people can also see through the country overview that most regions are listed with GB in front.
I can't help that they're apparently in your catalog in GB either.
Searches, duplications and stamps that end up in the wrong region
there is no difference, after all, in GB Duplicates were also listed, despite the fact that all stamps are already listed, it always remains to search, and in fact it is even worse in GB because everything is mixed up there / and was from now on.
you make a lot of fuss, and do dramatic advances, like the world is ending.
GB is not as complex as you make it seem, but it is when everything is mixed up and stays together.
Everything just has to be put in a row, otherwise it will get even worse, and then it will be too complex to distinguish everything from each other.
go have a coffee, and check back in a week, when everything is lined up.
I have understood, and from now on I will no longer be concerned with improving the input in the catalog.
Jammer deze beslissing.
Too bad this decision.
@Rob, that's not a shame, it's just clearer now.
if you consider that the series from Northern Ireland alone are regional, and that the series from 2001 to 2008 all look the same, there are already more than 25 with only 4 different images.
and that the king elizabeth series consists of more than 70 different ones, and then the 4 times plural in terms of phosphor bands, and that times 3 regions
that is more than 280 x 3 = 800 regional stamps, which then stood between the GB Queen Elizabeth, of which there are more than 140 x 5 in terms of phosphor bands = 700 stamps.
and all these stamps were also placed between the regular series of GB and also the regional and city post and fdc's and blocks.
sort out the duplications here, you won't succeed or you'll be working on it for a year.
I would say just take a look at BG Noordierland., and you can immediately see all Doublures, and you will immediately see what is missing, it couldn't be more clear.
the stamps now have to be revised, and the duplicates have to be removed.
More than sorting is needed. The stamps must also be technically supplemented.
But I don't think it would be an issue if Aartinge also takes care of this.
@Rob, I will not take care of that, after all if I mention offset as it is in the michel, it will be changed by another to lithography.
the tasks would be best divided If I look at each item, there are at least 5 people fiddling with it and in the end it suddenly becomes a different seal.
This is also because everyone uses their own catalog and the information contained therein.
In fact, 1 person has to complete the item, record it, and tap everyone who arrives afterwards on the fingers.
Yes, that is unfortunately correct.
If the perforation of MIchel, using ¼ and ¾, is again changed to the perforation of the Yvert by an ex-colleague of mine, then I am not happy with that either.
That is why I have also stopped my technical work for Catawiki as long as this kind of nonsensical things continue to happen. Correcting back and forth is just annoying and a waste of time.
Catawiki just has to name the programmer promised by Marco who will realize the case in accordance with the agreement made in January 2013.
It seems as if the Stamp Department is in a damn corner. Everything is promised but nothing is delivered. That's how it continues TOBBING.
Programs are adapted and made here in Catawiki, except for the stamp catalogue.
How can you create your own catalog if you, as Catawiki, are not interested in it. Strange attitude and contempt towards the participants.
@RobAmse
@RobAmse
If the perforation of MIchel, using ¼ and ¾, is again changed to the perforation of the Yvert by an ex-colleague of mine, then I am not happy with that either.
SECOND TIME:
I don't accept false allegations.
Every day I use various catalogs to enter or supplement items, and each catalog has its qualities and its flaws.
Catawiki's choice to use only one catalogue, as some would like, will spell the end of Catawiki.
Perforations: when measured afterwards, many perforation indications turn out to be just wrong and often not a little bit, REGARDLESS of the catalogue.
This will be RobAmse sausage...Only the holy Michel.
I only measure toothless in accordance with the Yvert.
@Tapir,
@Tapir,
Catawiki's choice to use only one catalog, as some would like, will mean the end of Catawiki.
you have to agree that every time the information that is there with an item, that it is always changed through the use of different catalogs.
in that sense it would be useful to to use a catalog, and I think it would go much better with this already existing backlog.
if all administrators now ensure that all catalog numbers are listed without further changes, then everyone knows which series is meant, despite the fact that there may be different information mentioned in the catalogs
you would in any case not have to do or change anything about the perforation or other information that is there is already there.
and then there is still left to provide further information. without changing anything.
if not, we keep changing the same stamp.
In short, fill in everything, and freeze after all catalog numbers are listed.

The champions are here
Using only 1 catalog to enter stamps is the way. Unfortunately (or luckily) I don't have a catalog myself.
Using only 1 catalog to enter stamps is the way
the way to uselessness, because that catalog is already there. Why copy an existing catalog? CW's way is to determine and state the perforation of the stamp itself. No Yvert or Michel.
Oh, yes. I think the discussion was about introducing regional stamps separately or not. I am sorry that Rie is giving up.

I don't understand stamps but I'm still amazed, those references.
Just create a Catawiki catalog all those others use that as a resource, not as a guide.
It's just no further aid.
In the case of books, you do not refer to: under that number in the Koninklijke Bibliotheek?
@Rob, and people like that make everyone an awful lot of work.
you can eventually have everything filled in for a stamp, but promptly after that something is changed again, and then you have to do it again. insert to check again.
If the perforation is not perforated, then it is again paper type or pressure or the loose stamp has been changed to series.
and in fact these are insignificant adjustments if it is a standard series or stamp, after all the catalog number ultimately indicates which item it is.
and if in the end everything is stated as info by everyone, then you could finally make all the correct adjustments at once. check.

and in fact these are insignificant adjustments if it concerns a standard series or stamp, after all the catalog number ultimately indicates which item it is. just look it up in a catalog? Gosh, then you don't need Catawiki at all ...!
In mijn vorige bericht moet "rechts" "links" zijn!
(in de war met de verkiezingen ?)
In my previous post, "right" should be "left"!
(Confused with the election?)
@aartinge
Forget it!
@aartinge
In short, fill in everything, and freeze after all catalog numbers are listed.
This is utopia and you know it too !
A much more realistic and much more practical proposal is, for example, that per part of the item can be reviewed, both for newly entered items and for changes to existing items.
This is how the administrators obligated to check each part separately more than before (which is now too often not the case).
The parts that cannot be immediately assessed by the manager are then left aside by him / her.
Until now it is assumed that every administrator has a mass of information to check everything and that Catawiki would provide him / her with all necessary material resources. Forget it! That will also be one of the reasons to be able to use Michel as the only catalog. Every (Dutch) manager will have one and the foreigner or even a Dutch person who comes up with a different catalog will be figuratively scraped down in the shortest time ...
The proposal to review per part has already been times suggested by administrators of other sections. To my knowledge, nothing has come of this yet.

Do you mean you can just look up your stamp in a catalog? Gosh, then you don't need Catawiki at all...!
So that's the problem guessing at more than 2 possibilities. I have the idea that stamps should just see the catalog as the catalog.
And just be part of the catawiki catalog, where more sections have their wishes, which are not immediately filled in (unfortunately)
@Boekenmagazijn
@Bookstore
and in fact these are insignificant adjustments if it concerns a standard series or stamp, after all the catalog number ultimately indicates which item it is.

It's about the interim adjustments, which just cause a lot of work, after all if you adjust something, then it's the day. on again.
Also here we are talking about filling out CW catalog, so you don't actually need your own catalog.
however that info has to come from somewhere to get the CW catalog.
