To my knowledge, a DVD is always packed in a plastic box as standard. All other shapes are different. The designation "Standard version" could be removed from the drop-down list. Because it doesn't add anything. Or am I overlooking something?
Incidentally, I think the list is a strange mix. Mi. the shape of the packaging and the edition of the DVD, such as Collectors Edition, etc., should be separated. Sometimes there is a relationship between packaging and edition, but not always.

True, the packaging will be split off, but hardly any technical changes have been made in the last two years. That now seems to be changing.
To ensure that all importers immediately lost their information and would not have to go through all their DVDs again later, we used that field.
Standard version refers to the movie.
So most DVDs will have 'Standard version' and 'Plastic box'. After splitting, both the version field and the packaging field are in order.

Let's not forget that Arco has an explanation with the background pages for almost all (or now all?) packaging. Very enlightening and you will find out that there are many different types of packaging.
If the field is split, will there be multiple versions of the standard plastic box? Amaray is only 1 producer of this and you have several, all with their own properties.

We didn't intend to, no. Amaray is only given as an example, because then many users will immediately understand what kind of box we mean here. It is well known that these boxes can also differ slightly from each other, but it is usually not essential for the catalog, I think, and probably too complicated for the average user. The idea is that with the current packaging the entire spectrum of types packaging is covered.
