The gang of Joss Jamon (part 11) has been introduced with the year of release 1966. On the back cover, however, I think I recognize Tortillas for the Daltons as the last part, an album that was only released in 1968. That would mean that it has been entered incorrectly. Would someone with sharper eyes than I presumably have to see if they agree with my conclusion?

There is a sticker album with the story Ballad van de Daltons, dated 1970. The story of the ballad itself did not appear in album form until 1979. The dating of this sticker album does not seem entirely correct to me.

Sticky picture book appeared in 1978
and has been modified. You can also do it yourself.

Gang of joss jamon also changed, back is with tortillas. At least 1968, but could also have been later.

Thank you Jilles. I want to do that myself, but I am sometimes not completely sure and then look for a "second opinion"

But I think you have now entered the same book with the year 1967, with tortillas on the back and it is from 1968 anyway. Pictures are larger in any case

I just checked but the year of copyright mentioned in the book is really 1967 and the Depot Legal is from 1966. Maybe Dupuis probably anticipated the release of Tortillas, otherwise I can't explain it either.

Each Tintin album states © 1946
And Casterman has used that as the only benchmark for many years. Publishers were not that concerned with that. I don't think Dupuis was looking ahead to a new album to be released. Perhaps - if available - the fund list can provide a definitive answer.

I now also start entering my Lucky Luke collection and immediately the first problem presents itself…
Dating my Dupuis series poses difficulties… :-(
I have quite a few albums with on the back the 8 pictures of the albums De Karavaan to Tortillas for the Daltons and also a barcode. In the front there is usually a copyright date of 1977 or 1978, and the Dupuis album lists in the back also date around that time.
However, I am sure most of those albums could be from the early 80's at the earliest…
Does anyone know from what year the barcode was on the back?

Never mind, apparently it really must be 1977/78.
It is strange that there is not yet a single variant of this back in Catawiki. I will scan and add them tomorrow.

Who can "stick" a date on this Lucky Luke: 3442937

According to last title: 1969

According to inner cover: 1969

According to back cover: 1969

But according to last page layout much later ????

And according to the dimensions: 2003 ???? but is it a first edition of a reprint?

This lucky luke has the barcode at the bottom left. I have not come across this variant much yet.

Designation Charlois means that it is at least after 1986.

I think the albums of this century have a clear year and month. So I don't think it's after 2000.

I have put it on 1989 for now.

who can help me?

One of Lucky Luke's stories contains a running gag about General Custer's original saddle pads. What story is that in?

Thanx!

The running gag on Custer's saddle pads can be found in the Bounty Hunter.

Thank you Rik!

I immediately reread it.

We are going on vacation to Montana, including to Custer Battlefield Museum.

The anticipation has started!
