Just provided 25856 explanation of the total number of pages including (2) title and endpapers. Also photo 2nd title page. I have a copy with size 21.8 by 23.7. Catalog: 22 by 23.3. Especially the height makes a difference. Different printing rounds?
At 25857 also total number pages with explanatory notes adapted. As far as my copy is concerned, the format is cf catalog.

The positioning of the front also makes a significant difference with the different copies (which were auctioned on Catawiki), but that does not seem to be due to differences in size. If you cannot physically place the books next to each other, it is difficult to say whether there is really a difference, or just a measurement error.
Question about Specifics: is the text "1st Spirou and Fantasio album in the Netherlands" of any use? It must of course be "in Dutch" (because the album was released in Belgium), but even then it seems to me a redundant addition.
And is the list price still correct, especially for Mint condition? https://www.catawiki.nl/l/29309695-robbedoes-en-kwabbernoot-1-de-tank-robbedoes-en-kwabbernoot-stock-exemgave -hardcover-first-edition-1949

. Inderdaad zo wie zo " in het Nederlands " .
Perhaps the comment 1st Rob album has ever been added because the other album is also dated 1949? . Indeed anyone so "in Dutch".

Ah, you are right. After all, the books are not numbered.
But does this also apply to the French edition, or did they appear in reverse order?

According to Matla, part 1 is Dutch that Franquin. Strange in itself because the earlier stories are from Jije. Unfortunately, my knowledge falls short here. Can imagine that the 1st albums were magic for the youth in post-war Belgium and the Netherlands .............. I am reading again with the pleasant smell of old paper .. .

Just my fussy 2 cents: with bound books, we only count the entire book block, just like with paperbacks. So I suspect from the Particulars that 104 pages was correct.

Arco, I know the count, the number of pages is correct, including the title pages (there are 2 for both albums, so 4 pages) and the front and back endpapers. Because I can't count that well, I did it in 2 ways and that ended up with the same number.
And ...... pickles are an annoyance for some, but certainly worth more than a few cents. The mess that is often left behind by the "fast home workers" is generally not cleared up by the latter group.

Juist.

The pages indicated were correct, I don't know where you are going wrong but now they are both wrong.
Do not count endpapers and remember that the title pages are not numbered, but are included in the count.
So that should be reversed.
So I suspect based on the Particulars that 104 pages was correct
Correct.

I have a copy with size 21.8 by 23.7. Catalog: 22 by 23.3./
My copy also previously has the dimensions that you determine. Of course, the width is an approximation, because the spine is round.

According to Matla, part 1 is in Dutch by Franquin. Strange in itself because the earlier stories are by Jije.
The first announcement of both albums was in Spirou weekly magazine 504 of 24/11/1949. Also to be found in Spirou bundle 30. So both albums were printed to be sold by the holidays of 1949 (there will not have been much difference in time between printing).
I can't check what's in there for you.
However, in the lists, with available albums at that time, the Franquin album is always listed first. You can also see that Dupuis indicates the order of the albums on the back of "The black hats" from 1952.
But does that also apply to the French edition, or were they published in reverse order?
We also see the same numbering on the French back . It is strange that in our catalog they give these albums the year 1948 ... Bedetheque even gives the following: Dépot légal : 01/1948

I have removed that too, as there appears to be nothing unusual about this book. So it is not special.

Arco, in itself it is not often that there are 2 title pages. Very important for collectors (and sellers) to know, these are quite expensive albums in good condition and finding out after a purchase that a book is missing 1 of the title pages is not pleasant. Does that happen, yes not much, but still .. in old books and comic books beautiful and / or written endpapers or title pages were sometimes removed. It doesn't matter to me, I already have the albums, and the (partly incorrect) text is preserved in history.
