I have a question about the first edition of Jesse James (1971).

This concerns the edition of De geillustrated Pers Amsterdam.

I recently bought this album and later discovered that some pages in the album were blank.

These are the pages 34-35, 38-39, 42-43 and 46.

Is this normal with this edition or is this a misprint?

Unfortunately you have a misprint, for the comic collector this has no value.

It's not about the value to me either.

I just wondered if it was a misprint.

It's a bit sloppy for the printer to get a 1st pressure of a new story to forget 5 of the total of 46 pages.

Shouldn't something like this be removed and destroyed during a check?

and sad for the reader who once bought the story new from the store and found out while reading that a large part of the pages were missing :)

With a circulation of tens of thousands of albums, it is inevitable that sometimes a mistake slips in between. It is more remarkable that such an illegible album has been preserved for 45 years, because the buyer could simply have exchanged it at the store where he bought it new. (And if you bought it from a merchant, you should get your money back even now.)

Funny that a misprint of a stamp is something special and a misprint of a comic book is dismissed as completely worthless. I also have some "misprints" in all sorts of forms. It is worth nothing as a reading book, but who knows, the thinking patterns of collectors may change. The chances are that there will not be a market in misprinted comic books, but if that does happen ........., I would have saved them anyway. So I wouldn't get rid of them so quickly and certainly wouldn't throw them away. A schliderij somewhere in the world completely green is worth millions because of what ?? Because it is beautifully green and very very large and accepted in an environment of the super rich ...? I hope that I will not fall on the toes of art connoisseurs with this comparison ....

I am sure that such a market will arise if collectors' environments / catalogs such as Catawiki once decide (which has always been kept off) a category to allow misprints of books and comics.

Dit album van Lucky Luke is geen uniek of enig exemplaar.

Heb in mijn 35 jaar lange stripverzameling dit exemplaar meerder keren in mijn handen gehad.

En heb zelf 2 exemplaren van dit album in mijn bezit gehad.

Deze zijn ondertussen reeds van eigenaar veranderd.

Maar blijkbaar zijn er van dit album heel wat misdrukken de drukkerij buiten gegaan.

Zonder problemen door de controle geraakt, alvorens men dit heeft opgemerkt.

Vindt het raar dat dit album nooit éérder is opgedoken in de CW cataloog.

This Lucky Luke album is not a unique or unique copy.

In my 35 years of comics collection, I've had this copy in my hands several times.

And I owned 2 copies of this album myself.

These have since changed ownership.

But apparently a lot of misprints of this album have left the printing house.

Passed through the inspection without any problems, before people noticed this.

I'm not calling this a significant portion. In addition, to the best of my knowledge, the publisher made no mention of this and / or recalled the print run.
