Does anyone know the background of the stamping on the following albums:

Softcover 1997 The Hour of the Tiger "on title page stamp of Dupuis with the text

" This album will be free offered and may not be sold "

Softcover 1992 PIE on title page stamp:" fabrication sample 344865 may not be sold"

And are these copies that can be entered as a separate catalog item or better just an addition to the catalog item that this variant exists?

Hope for a response

Harry 56

That sounds like separate catalog items, but then b, c (d?) versions of course.

I think you're lucky to get your hands on these copies. It seems to be more common with comics.

Hi Harry,

If the albums are identical to the normal ones, you can add this to your own notes. We do not record albums with stamps and stickers separately. For example, some publishers do / did this as standard with the press copies.

Oh I just entered this on the advice of DisneyMeentwijc (thank you for that)

Arco do you want to remove this?

http://www.catawiki.nl/catalogus/strips/series-helden/largo-winch/5915469-het-uur-van-de-tijger

then I put as a 3rd scan the title pages with stamps of the 2 existing catalog items with a small explanation.

Disney is sometimes lost. Did Walt sometimes suffer from it. (;-)

In this case, a third scan is not necessary in the catalog, at most in your collection or shop. Thousands and thousands of books also exist with stamps ...

Thousands and thousands of books exist with original publisher's stamps ?? I have collected fanatically for 30 years and I did not come across them that often. A handful ........... So DisneyMeentwijck is definitely not lost with this.

A sincere question and please don't get angry. Why is no one allowed to see such stamps in a catalog? That must be communicated in a different way. Just like an original drawing in an album, added later .......

Because thousands and thousands of books really have such a stamp (I estimate that I can just pull 500 out of my closet) it is not exceptional information for the catalog that justifies a third image. We prefer to see a colophon in that place. We really see stamps as needless pollution.

What is of course the case is that some collectors are willing to pay a few euros extra. That is why I said that such an image and comment in your shop can make sense.

By the way, we do not include books with original drawings separately, only the drawings themselves at dédicases.

Stupid, I saw a lot of stamps entered in the Other section. So I can put it there too. And Arco is careful to add 500 nice publisher stamps to the catalog. It's not about euros in the catalog, is it?

And please make the link with the collection section Comics. Then the stamps can be found a bit at the Comics then. If it concerns a different medium, of course make another link.

This and this BBL's Suske en Wiske album preceded this week differently a lot of money over the counter. As far as I can tell, those albums have just been printed.

So they are also listed separately in the catalog and collectors clearly value them (you can always try to explain to me why, because I understand it doesn't).

But personally I understand that not for every sticker or stamp a new item is created. The item already exists, the addition does not make the album any different. A good rule for me.

I think these are specially made copies for BBL. If it is an ordinary sticker, then of course it is not a special item. The items have not yet been reviewed by an administrator, so it could just be that they are also disapproved. In any case, the reviewing manager will ask for better images, because in this way (probably photographed) the details are illegible and with S & amp; W this is of course important for determining the pressure and other data.

I also find that very different from manufacturing samples. I am therefore only a collector and would really like such a copy for my collection, because that is not a sales copy. And then I also miss the opportunity to see that in my collection in my overview. After all, as a collector you also want the regular album and that is not in your overview. If you then see S & amp; Ws (usually they are together) for sale and you want to check in your app whether you already have them, you will quickly read over the details, because you cannot see them.
