Hi everyone.I have a reasonable collection of Spirou magazines, late 70s, early 80s. Also a number of compilation albums (132 - 142). Due to lack of space I unfortunately have to give up this collection. However, I have one problem: I live in Brazil and of course nobody knows Spirou here. Sending to the Netherlands or Belgium is probably too expensive because of the weight. Does anyone have an idea? Otherwise, the collection will likely be given away as waste paper ...

The Spirou albums that are most sought after are those from 1 to 100. Individual weekly magazines are mainly sought from 1938 to max. 1970.

I fear (although there are collectors for them) that the price of a shipment exceeds the value of the collection.

But of course it would be a shame to throw it away. Maybe place an ad on the marketplace: free, only pay shipping costs, you get Brazilian stamps for free.

What you can also do is give them away to the Dutch or Belgian consulate, for the reading table. Or to a Dutch teacher in your hometown. You will be surprised how many of them there are if you just google. Anything better than throwing it away.

Thanks for the comments! The oldest albums I have are 68, 72 and 75 (1958, 1959 and 1960). Would they be worth the shipping costs? I will ask the Dutch consulate if they are interested. And perhaps the Belgian consulate too. Perhaps they can recommend a Dutch teacher to me.

If they are really very beautiful, they can be worth 75 euros or more (each), but then they have to be complete (micro stories), fixed book block, no tears, nothing written, nice spine ...

OK, I sent an email to a school here that teaches Dutch. I think I'll give the individual magazines their own. Perhaps I keep the compilation albums (at least the older ones), they don't take up that much space.

The old compilation albums are in good condition, without tears, nothing written in them. I've always kept them in the bookcase. The paper is of course colored a bit yellow, after more than 50 years.
