Some holiday comics are listed in the catalog as published for ECI Boek en Plaat. This is not in my copies of the books. What is striking is that the stories of Sam in my copies do not match the catalog.

So

- Or there are two editions, one of 'ordinary' Vandersteen and one with reference to ECI. With different stories from Sam in both editions.

-Or there is one edition and the designation ECI is in any case not in the books; Sam's stories in the catalog are then incorrect.

It is

The big holiday comic book 30119

and

The big holiday comic book 30118 (NB with this copy I have changed the title of the Sam story, but that would not be correct if there are 2 versions)

Does anyone know what's up?

In the past it regularly happened that special editions were made for the book clubs, or separate editions of both books and comics were printed. In many cases they were the same editions as in the regular market, but because it was a special edition for the book club, they could stunt with it.

Not in all cases the reference to the book club for which it was printed is included in the publication. Certainly not if it was a private edition for the club.

This means that we have to fall back on the knowledge of the importer / collector how he / she obtained the copy.

The same phenomenon now also occurs in reprints of Disney releases of Sanoma (sorry, DPG Media nowadays). Many of these reprints of Donald Duck as… and Uncle Scrooge are printed specifically for Watson (Powder Keg and Trekpleister). But you will not find this in the publications themselves.

Back to your question… it cannot be ruled out that you have another copy. Where a "misprint" cannot be ruled out, but it is unlikely.

Who cares who the distributor is, if the album is identical then it will not be recorded separately. Otherwise, all albums with an (advertising) sticker can also be recorded separately. See the discussion about the Illustrated Classics with price sticker at the time.

You can also state a few things at Specials ...
