Tekenaar Jan Lutz was al overleden op 7 september 1957. Het album kwam uit in het najaar van 1958.
Mijn vraag : wie heeft die tekening op de voorkant van het boek getekend ?
Zou het Bert Bus kunnen zijn of iemand anders die bij De Spaarnestad werkte ?

The drawing on the cover is certainly not by Jan Lutz himself. Also not provided with his known initials.
Artist Jan Lutz had already passed away on September 7, 1957. The album was released in the autumn of 1958.

Could it be Bert Bus or someone else who worked at De Spaarnestad?
Ton, dat is goeie vraag. Zal lastig te achterhalen zijn, immers de uitgever zal ongetwijfeld gevraagd hebben aan de betreffende tekenaar iets in de stijl van Lutz als cover te maken. Dat is uhm toch aardig gelukt , mij is het in ieder geval nooit opgevallen. Maar de Lutz kenners blijkbaar wel...........
Ton, that's a good question. It will be difficult to figure out, after all the publisher will undoubtedly have asked the artist concerned to make something in the style of Lutz as a cover. That worked out quite well, I never noticed. But apparently the Lutz connoisseurs do ...........

Vanmiddag op de buitenboekenmarkt op het Canadaplein te Alkmaar Jaap Leguijt gesproken over de voorplaat van het boek 'Op het Zeeroverseiland'.
Hij bevestigde dat de covertekening van Bert Bus is.
In het exemplaar van het album dat in zijn bezit is, bevindt zich een brieje van de hand van Bert Bus zelf.
Jaap Leguijt is de uitgever van Amor Vincit Omnia en heeft meerdere uitgaves met het werk van Bert Bus op de markt gebracht.

This afternoon at the outdoor book market on the Canadaplein in Alkmaar Jaap Leguijt spoke about the cover of the book 'On the Zeeroverseiland'.
He confirmed that the cover drawing is from Bert Bus.
The copy of the album in his possession contains a letter written by Bert Bus himself.
Jaap Leguijt is the publisher of Amor Vincit Omnia and has released several editions with the work of Bert Bus.
