What is a paperback according to LD and what is a paperback? Just introduced here, a pocket in terms of size, but no choice for pocket with flaps, but with loose cover. So opted for paperpack with flaps. Detail perhaps

There is a gray area, but often 20x12.5 cm is used as the border. Anything smaller is called a pocket, anything larger is a paperback.

In Lastdodo, I don't think that the limit has ever been officially set (we may have to go over some mosquito sifting again), so for now everything is "good" if it is a book with a glued soft cover. Because of the flaps, the choice for paperback with flaps is indeed the best in this case because it contains more relevant information.

edit: in the past you could also use as an (additional) criterion that pockets were actually always released in series (black bears, penguin), but nowadays paperbacks are also released in series.

Pegag, clear! We already have many choices. I still read a lot of English books, the publishers in UK and USA often call what we see as a paperback a paperback. I'll figure it out with regard to entering future data. Thanks again !

Oh Harry,

If you take it as it says you will get this: Every pocket is a paperback (paper back), but not every pocket is a paperback. It is only a pocket if you can put it in your pocket. The size then depends a bit on how big your bags are.

Well funny, I never thought about the meaning of such an ordinary word pocket ... Never reserved for me, was always very careful with books, even mini travel guides never go into my pockets, or yes they do. ...... in the BACKPACK.

Enigma, I think you turned something around

Every pocket is a paperback, but not every pocket is a paperback.

Was in the heat of battle. Just wanted to say that words do not come out of the blue, but can sometimes take on a different meaning.
