I think the search engine results have recently changed. And it hasn't gotten any better.

When searching for example "Animals" (one of my favorite bands) I now get a gigantic list of items. To the left of it all the sections. From that I choose Records and CDs and then the list becomes a bit more manageable, but the first ten items concerns the album Animals by Pink Floyd. I then have to scroll further down until I come across an item from my favorite band. I then open that item and then click on Animals, The (main artist). Only then do I get all items in the old view. These are a lot of actions and clicks and that doesn't make me happy.

Previously I searched for Animals and got:

Animals, The

Eric Burdon and The Animals

Party Animals etc.

Clicking on the top one immediately yielded all items. so 1 enter and 1 click.

Can that last system be restored again?

When I search for Animals, in the column Found catalog, categories include Animals, The
Click on this and you will immediately receive everything from The Animals (695 items).

First go after records and CDs, then search for Animals;)

Aha, that has changed. You will now immediately enter the items and not the sections.

I knew that. What mattered to me is that I now have to perform more actions. I often search from the main window.

Incidentally, if I do it via the rubric, I don't immediately get to the items, but to the parts of the rubric.

No, he doesn't. You can type in any word or group of words that should appear somewhere in the field, and he will then show the results alphabetically.

By the way, there has been a bug for five years, because at some point you can no more scrolling through that dropdown.

So that is a difficult problem, because I also came across that you cannot scroll further. And so that list becomes quite polluted with new entrys.

No, I have too, if you have searched something first, then another search apparently assumes that you do that in the plates (or whatever). You actually have to start with a completely clean slate first. Somewhere something is being remembered underwater ...

@Arco, @ Dick52. The problem with single-character search terms has now been resolved. In the unlikely event that you still encounter it, please let us know as soon as possible. Thanks for reporting.

@Morits, @DisneyMeentwijck. It is true that this functionality has been built in this way, it is indeed checked whether in which section you were or were last sat. Indeed, this doesn't really feel natural and will be fixed soon.

En behoud ook de vraag of je verder wilt zoeken in de gehele Catalogus, want dat voorkomt ook een hoop geswitch.

Ook handig vind ik de Bedoel je .... ? Vooral als je iets verkeerd hebt getyped of de naam niet meer precies weet is dan erg handig.

@Jilles: Heel eenvoudig! Ik was items aan mijn verzameling aan het toevoegen en daarbij maak ik tegenwoordig veel gebruik van de zoekmachine. Ik laat de zoekpagina dan openstaan en open de links dan in een andere tab. Dat is ook handig voor mij om het overzicht te behouden als ik meerdere rubrieken wil zien.

@CataWiki Team: Bedankt en we wachten met veel spanning af naar het resultaat. Voorlopig dus even de extra stap maken door naar de rubriek te gaan.

@ Jilles : Very simple! I was adding items to my collection and I use the search engine a lot these days. I then leave the search page open and open the links in a different tab. That is also useful for me to keep an overview if I want to see several categories.
