[rene] "If you click on newest items in shops, you will see your own photos if there are any. I have tested on the overview that you can click from the homepage. goes wrong? Maybe I am missing something. "

[rob] On page 2 of the “Latest items in shops” with the games is a green Scrabble game. The photo shown there is from the seller. If you click on the item or on the shopping cart above the photo, you will only see the catalog information. Only when you click there on “In shop from” you will see the data actually added by the seller. The same if you click on a shopping cart in e.g. the gallery. It works the same way on the homepage. This is incorrect.

You should take an example from Boardgamegeek's shop system. They have understood it a lot better. It does not mention any information from the catalog in the items for sale and the presence of the entire shop system is also much more modest.
Allowing the display of photos and details from the catalog (and even automatic copying thereof) with an item for sale is just as objectionable as when e.g. at Marktplaats these photos and data are copied. It is pure deception and encourages abuse by sellers who do not want to bother to take photos themselves.

Ah, so you want to immediately click through to the shop of the supplier of the item. That is also an option. We thought it would be useful for an interested buyer to first see who else is offering the item so that you can compare the recent offer with that of other sellers. But you are right, it actually makes more sense to immediately end up in the shop itself. We have adjusted this. Just try. The shopping basket in a photo gallery in the catalog usually does not refer to one specific item for sale, but to several. That is why it is logical to first end up on the catalog page where you can see who is offering it all for what price. The shopping cart is only an indication that it is for sale.

If sellers do not post their own image, we clearly state with the images from the catalog "These image (s) come from the Catawiki catalog and are not specific to this shop." It is useful for buyers to at least be able to see what the item in question looks like in general. As a seller you will sell the item faster if you do post your own image, so making your own scans or photos is also in the interest of the seller. In some cases, for example, if you have a stamp or comic book store with tens of thousands of items, that is difficult to achieve.
