Catawiki only understands a limited number of characters. Even the Ascii table is in my opinion only limited in the sense that I can enter some characters (and see them correctly at that time) but that when saving them in a?
With the increasing number of foreign items, that is not really useful.
When we enter an English book, we do the title in English, right? But this is not possible with, for example, a Greek book. Then we have to do that phonetically, with all its consequences :-), or we have to translate the title. But that is inconsistent and not being consistent is a mortal sin in database land.
In short, please have more character sets in Catawiki. We will really need them.
And perhaps an option to be able to enter titles in the original form as well as in ABN for items in other languages ??

This is indeed what I am waiting for.
Are there plans to include Asian characters in Catawiki, for example?

Bump for this question.

When will this database be made suitable for unicode?

Seems pretty essential for an international catalog.

I have had the same problem with Cyrillic characters. Everything entered and then turns out not even to be accepted ("Oops"). Be such an asset.
