The new gallery pages have been in use for a week now. Feedback has been given by many, positive and negative, but constructive.
Of course we take constructive feedback seriously and the first result is now live.

The number images displayed in a row is set to 6 by default. This will automatically make the images on the screen smaller than 4 in a row.

However, as there are also users who like the larger images more, we have made an option to let the user set this themselves.

A choice has been made for this in your Settings.

Go to your avatar (top right)
Settings
Catalog profile (center of page, light blue letters)
Scroll to Settings and choose how many ( 4, 5 or 6 ) images in a row you want to see in the galleries.

Click Save.

I just have trouble seeing if an item is in my collection. The green circle is not conspicuous enough compared to the blue on all other stamps. Red might be better for this.

Yeah! It is less than 4 days ago that I wrote:

I am convinced that the 2 biggest bottlenecks have received sufficient attention not to overlook them. Wondering what - and how - will be adjusted after a while. Every step will then be in the right direction.

Suddenly I saw everything huddling together, in times of Corona lol. I was curious, and I am not disappointed. This is really very clever. Been working with it for a few hours and my scrolling finger is already starting to show withdrawal symptoms :). Productivity has increased again.

Congratulations to the developers for making it fun for everyone again at such a short notice.

The changes made to the number of images are indeed an improvement. Thank you for this ! Would like a better readability of the light gray values (year and number below the titles, numbers after the selection choices). I have fewer problems with the blue and green indication of presence or absence in collection and shop, although that may be an issue for others.

An early Christmas surprise for LastDodo users.

The developers were able to make a number of updates before Christmas:

• From now on you can select on the Nominal value of Stamps. The filter is currently at the bottom of the left column, but it will be moved to the top soon.
• When searching in sections with a standard filter, such as with Comics "Main series / All" or with Stamps "Standard / All", a direct search is now made in "All".
• With a first selection in these sections, all filters are shown on the left, including the numbers. This despite the active filter on "Standard" or "Main series".
• In the Music section (Records and CDs), the images in the galleries are displayed square.
• Also some minor layout changes have been made.

I have already said a well-deserved thank you to the developers for this great update.

Nu bij de rubriek Muziek de afbeeldingen vierkant weergegeven worden moest ik in mijn Profiel de instelling Catalogusprofiel weer veranderen in 5 in een rij (Had ik zo ingesteld) omdat hij anders, bij mij in iedergeval 6 in een rij aangaf.

Now that the images are displayed squarely in the Music section, I had to change the Catalog profile setting in my Profile back to 5 in a row (I had set this up) because otherwise, at least for me, it indicated 6 in a row.

The rubric pages, so the 1st page of a rubric, all have 6 images in a row.
The galleries, the pages after you have made a first selection, have the number of images that you have indicated in your profile.

Tammo a great update, now I can happily work on the catalog again, even though I actually wanted to see more pictures for Doublure tracking. or more to be able to find the same stamps with different perforations or watermarks.

Tammo, could it also be possible that in the search bar of the values the indicated periods and commas can be seen as one?

6 stamps appear to have been filled in with 6 . 00 and 2 stamps with 6 , 00, so there are actually a total of 8 stamps with the same value, and in fact you have this with all values.

I certainly understand your intention, but the problem is that this field can be filled in freely. It is actually amazing that it has been possible to realize the search in this way. Then there should be another definition of that field first.
But some standardization would help anyway.

@Tammo, dat begrijp ik wel, maar er staan nu dubbel zoveel waardes in de lijst omdat alle waardes apart worden vermeld doormiddel van punten en komma's.

maar een zoek instelling kun je meestal aanpassen naar waar hij na moet zoeken, dus misschien kan het wel, het zou wel gelijk een beter overzicht geven i.p.v een overzicht in 2 delen of zelfs in 3 delen.

zie voorbeeld 5.000 (94 zegels met punt) en 5,000 (65 zegels met komma ) en 5000 (53 zegels zonder punt of komma) = totaal overzicht. van 212 zegels

misschien iets voor het nieuw jaar

@Tammo, I understand that, but there are now twice as many values in the list because all values are listed separately by periods and commas.

but you can usually adjust a search setting to what it should search for, so maybe it is possible, it would immediately give a better overview instead of an overview in 2 parts or even in 3 parts.

see example 5 . 000 (94 stamps with dot) and 5 , 000 (65 stamps with comma ) and 5000 (53 stamps without dot or comma) = total overview. of 212 stamps

There may be people who want to search specifically on 5,000 and not 5000. According to the help text for that field, what is on the stamp must be entered:

The value as indicated on the stamp (without the currency name or abbreviation thereof). Surcharge in format "5 + 1". Indicate overprints with a hash, for example 1 # 2 is 1 to 2 cents. Leave the box empty for series, pairs or combinations. For blocks or stamp booklets only mention if the value is on the block or cover.

There are people who interpret this somewhat broadly, just look under the A to Z;)

Which field are you aiming for?

En nogmaals 'Jawadde dadde' ... Ik ben een paar uur aan de slag gegaan met zoeken op Nominale waarde.  Hiermee kun je de zoektijd naar een bepaalde postzegel héél wat korter maken.  Met meer kans op success.

Prima geïntegreerd ook.  Dat 'Soort' erdoor wat lager zakt is helemaal niet erg (meer).  Ik denk wel dat zoeken op 'Nominale waarde' heel veel zal gebruikt worden bij Postzegels.

Een hele dikke proficiat aan de ontwikkelaars voor dit vooruitgeschoven kerstgeschenk.

En zoals altijd geven nieuwe impulsen aanleiding tot de meest zotste ideeën lol
Eigenlijk zou ik durven een oproep doen tot iedere postzegelverzamelaar op LD die kan zien, typen en lezen om ook iets terug te geven:

- hier en daar een deel (land, thema) bekijken;
- het hulpvenster 'zoeken op Nominale waarde' openen;
- de waarden die niet conform de richtlijnen zijn selecteren;
- van elk item naar het detail gaan, klikken op 'opties / Wijzigen item', de waarde wel conform de richtlijnen maken en 'Opslaan' onderaan aanklikken.

Als 1000 verzamelaars regelmatig een 10-tal Nominale waarden recht zet, dan is alles binnen de kortste keren picco bello in orde.  Uiteraard mogen verzamelaars uit andere categorieën zich hier ook mee amuseren :)

Een opdrachtenbalk onderaan zoals in het nieuwe gallerijscherm (tbv bulk toevoegen) zou in het scherm wijzigen (of toevoegen) handig zijn.  Maar dan zo'n balk met de 'Opslaan' knop er op.  Zo is die altijd beschikbaar.
1.  Bij massaal wijzigen van Nominale waarde (een van de bovenste velden) bespaart dit weeral heel veel op scroll-werk.
2.  Bij wijzigen van een veld gebaseerd op een keuzelijst voorkomt het problemen. Immers, soms verandert de waarde in die lijst die je als gebruiker net had aangepast als je niet oplet en op een verkeerde manier naar beneden duikt om op te slaan.  Ook op die manier ontstaan fouten ... niet iedereen controleert zichzelf even secuur.

And again 'Jawadde dadde'... I spent a few hours searching by Nominal value. This allows you to shorten the search time for a certain stamp a lot. With a higher chance of success.

Well integrated too. The fact that 'Kind' drops a bit lower is not bad at all (anymore). I do think that searching on 'face value' will be used a lot with Stamps.

A huge congratulations to the developers for this Christmas gift in advance.

In fact, I would dare to call on every stamp collector on LD who can see, type and read to also give something back:

- view a part (country, theme) here and there;
- open the help window 'search by nominal value';
- select the values that are not in accordance with the guidelines;
- go from each item to the detail, click on 'options / Change item', make the value in accordance with the guidelines and click 'Save' at the bottom.

If 1000 collectors regularly correct 10 nominal values, then everything will be in order in no time. Of course, collectors from other categories can also enjoy this :)

For tamo:

1. When changing Nominal value (one of the top fields) en masse, this again saves a lot of scroll work.
2. When changing a field based on a picklist, it prevents problems. After all, sometimes the value in that list that you as a user just modified changes if you're not paying attention and dive down the wrong way to save. This is also how errors arise ... not everyone checks themselves carefully.

Volgens mij bedoel je dat onderaan links, in de statusbalk van je verkenner, er 'URL's' verschijnen als je met de muisaanwijzer over een 'link' gaat op het scherm dat je in je bericht vermeldde.  Een URL is een (uniek) adres van een internetpagina.

Dit is gewoon het URL adres dat gebruikt zal worden als je er op zou klikken (met de muis weliswaar).

Ga je met de muisaanwijzer op de foto van het eerste item, dan zie je links onderaan de URL 'https://www.lastdodo.nl/items/7091725-de-woeste-hoogte' verschijnen.  Klik op de foto en het detail van dit item zal op het scherm komen.
7091725 is de unieke code van dit item, en dat zit in het URL adres.

Ga je met de muisaanwijzer over 'Bovenkarspel' van het eerste item (je ziet het woord wijzigen naar een link: onderlijnd) dan zie je links onderaan 'https://www.lastdodo.nl/nl/areas/753327' verschijnen.  Klik er op en je krijgt een overzichtpagina van 'Bovenkarspel suikerzakjes'.
753327 is de unieke code van dit overzicht (een 'area', een geheel, een gebied, of een [deel-]verameling in de betekenis van de Moderne Wiskunde).  Niet te verwarren met de unieke code van een item.  Het nummer heeft niks te maken met het boek waarvan dat nummer de unieke code is.  Elke soort (item, area) heeft zijn eigen reeks van unieke codes (nummers).  Zo is er geen vergissing mogelijk.

Als je op zo'n link rechtsklikt (rechtermuisknop), dan kun je de internetpagina waar het URL adres naar verwijst in een ander venster of tabblad openen.  Dan blijft je overzicht (vertrekbasis) behouden.  Bij het sluiten van dat ander venster / tabblad keer je dan automatisch terug naar het overzicht dat nog altijd op dezelfde plaats staat.

Misschien weet je dat allemaal, ik probeer maar te verklaren wat ik zie, met wat ik ondertussen al op LD proefondervindelijk heb geleerd.  Helpt het niet (mijn uitleg), het schaadt ook niet :)
