A new function will be available from tomorrow: extensive selection options in the photo gallery, frame and display case.

This makes it a lot easier to view and search the catalog, your own collection and a shop. You can make selections on the most common fields. You can also search for a part of the title and make a selection for a specific period.
A number of requests regarding the photo gallery were immediately dealt with:
  • The 3D slide show now also works for your collection and shops, and also works for curiosities.
  • Bulk adding now also works for curiosities.
  • Together with administrators, we have added extra sorting sequences for the largest sections.
  • A handy sort order has been added: Most Recent (thanks to EricT). With this you can immediately see what has recently been added to the catalog in a certain section.
In a number of cases there are a lot of options that you can choose from when selecting. In that case a list appears with initial letters and parentheses how often it occurs, eg
  • A (10x)
  • B (50x)
  • C (60x)
    etc.
In that case, choose the initial letter and press the "select" button on the right. You will then see the selection options with the selected initial letter in the relevant selection box.
There are a few more restrictions at this point:
  • For example, if you make a selection at Tintin on "1st Edition" and then you press "select", you will get a neat view of all 1st Edition of Tintin. However ... the other check boxes are not updated. If you make a follow-up selection, it can therefore happen that you choose a combination that does not exist.
  • If a collection area, collection or shop is very large, it will take some time to see the result.
We are already working behind the scenes to tackle both issues. However, since this function already provides so much extra ease of use, we have chosen to put the function with the restrictions on the site.
    Enjoy!
PS: I.v.m. with this new function, Catawiki is not available between 00:00 and 03:00.

We have made improvements so that the filter should now also work properly in Internet Explorer 6 and 8 (there were some problems with that).
Please let us know if you run into any problems with the new filter.

Can you help me to get a better insight into the site?
For Heroic magazine the album series: year 1945 is entered, series: Heroic magazine.
Anita magazine has the album series: year 1977 entered , by series: Anita magazine.
How come Heroic magazine can be found in my collection under series and Anita magazine is not?

This can always happen once if a series or series name has been changed in the catalog. Synchronization takes place at night, so the next morning all collections are fully up to date with the catalog. So take another look at your collection tomorrow morning. And please let us know here if it is okay.

Looks very promising, which did not work half an hour ago, but now we are working hard. TOP !!
When I click on Curiosa I get a whole list of books, comics, model cars,
Curiosa basically everything Only no music it is not there
Then one more question is it also possible to add a selection box country to the selection boxes
for music?
otherwise looks good.

@ Dick52
Thanks for the compliments.
Curiosa is meant for all related matters. At The Beatles, for example, Beatles glasses, dolls etc.
If you look at curiosities in Music, you should therefore not see Music as a type to add or filter. Or do you mean something else?
Land is indeed still an issue. This will soon also have to be included in the filter.

@ Rene
What you say is correct indeed if you make a correct selection then the curiosities are correct.
But initially if you select curiosities you will get everything except starting point.
While above screen shows curiosities (27)
That is confusing, as soon as you make a selection it goes well!
Was on the wrong foot, but is now clear.
Thanks.

In the first instance you will indeed see all curiosities sorted chronologically by year. See for example The Beatles, it already looks nice there.

I have a problem with the new selection options: when you search for superman, and you click album series, you see superman with a half letter after it because the column is so narrow.
And because there are so many album series…

Very good initiative in any case,
and yes, the same problem as Pitske. The columns are quite narrow, I can only see the first 12 characters of the selection box. This is especially difficult for album series. Admittedly, my browser is not a recent version…

I also had this problem (IE8), but it was solved for me around noon.
Which browsers do you, Pitske and Bruichke use?

We are trying to find a solution for IE6 but it is not easy.
What you might want to consider is to use Firefox. Great browser and completely free.
You download firefox here

Very nice idea that selection / filter options. They are not quite 100% yet, but I am emailing Marco about that, so that will probably be fine soon.
It's great that you continue to develop so enthusiastically on Catawiki. My compliments.

Very good indeed.
Unfortunately you can not type in the first letter of the alphabet then you can search even faster in the list of items now you first have to scroll down to get to the correct letter of the alphabet what you want to review or improve.
