Er zijn verzamelaars, die wel hun verzameling willen beheren via Catawiki, maar niet veel ruchtbaarheid willen geven over de plaats en het land waar zij wonen. Of eigenlijk waar zij hun verzameling hebben staan.
There are collectors who want to manage their collection through Catawiki, but do not want to give much publicity about the place and country where they live. Or actually where they have their collection.
De voornaamste reden is – volgens mij – dat het niet verplicht is. Mensen zijn lui. Waarom iets invullen als het niet hoeft.
Bij verzamelaars stoort het me niet zo, bij verkopers wel.
The main reason - I think - is that it is not mandatory. People are lazy. Why fill in something if you don't have to.
It doesn't bother me that much with collectors, but with sellers it does.
Iedereen heeft zo zijn redenen en ik denk dat de voornaamste de privacy-reden is. Hierover wordt ook al in een ander bericht uitgebreid gesproken, dus daar zal ik niet op in gaan. Wel is het handig als diegene een antwoord verwacht van iemand. Je kan zonder vlag helemaal niet weten in welke taal je iemand moet aanspreken.
Bij verkopers snap ik het helemaal niet, want je verkoopt toch meer als je je winkel goed aanprijst? Daar hoort volgens mij ook een goede omschrijving van je winkel en je profiel bij. Dat ze dat niet hebben ingevuld staat niet netjes, maar het stoort mij niet, totdat ik een vraag heb. Het stoort mij meer dat verkopers zo min mogelijk gegevens bij een nieuw CataWiki-item plaatsen en de regels niet lezen.
Everyone has their reasons and I think the main one is the privacy reason. This is also discussed extensively in another post, so I will not go into that. It is useful if the person expects an answer from someone. Without a flag you cannot know in which language you should address someone.
I do not understand at all with sellers, because you sell more if you advertise your store well, don't you? I think that also includes a good description of your store and your profile. The fact that they have not filled that in is not correct, but it does not bother me until I have a question. It bothers me more that sellers post as little data as possible with a new CataWiki item and don't read the lines.
