Dear fellow collectors,

The year is almost over. We are moving towards Christmas and less than a week later we are in 2019.

It was a year with many beautiful, special and fun acquisitions from beer label collectors from all over the world.

To date, 975 beer labels have been added this year! That promises something for next year.

Happy holidays to everyone!

The year is almost over, so it's time for a little review.

The first label of this year was nr. 7494327 , Hertog Jan Karakter, entered on January 2, 2019 by Metalman53. This was followed by 716 more labels so far.

The new acquisitions were nicely divided over the various beer types.

However, abbey beers (8%), blond beers (8%), IPAs (7%), lagers (8%) triples (5%) and lagers (13%) were extra well represented.

The lagers and lagers together are the biggest favorite beers with 21%. The abbey beers actually fall into different sub-types, such as blond, double, triple and nowadays also winter beers, spring beers and other flavors. The blond beers can also be divided into “normal” blond and heavy blond.

Seen from this perspective, the IPAs have risen relatively strongly this year. The “regular” pale ales only take up 2% of the collected number of labels.

What is also striking when breaking down the beer labels is that the Lambic beers only yielded 4 labels. Apparently these slightly sour beers are not really popular this year.

Even the non-alcoholic and low-alcohol beers only account for a share of 2% of the total, despite the fact that more and more beer brands are marketing non-alcoholic beers. However, this is not yet devoted to real beer lovers. Probably needs more time ...

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for supplying new beer labels and increasing our collection. Especially thanks to the people who help to complete and, if necessary, improve the item information on the labels. This helps to keep the catalog as complete as possible.

I also wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a beautiful 2020.

Ewald.
