I have a question for my fellow salespeople.

How do you experience selling on Lastdodo?

I have spent quite a bit of time listing a few hundred articles, but nothing at all happens.

Is it so quiet with you? And in which section do you trade?

I trade in:
- Model trains
- Books
- Comic books

The reason for this question is simple, nothing is being sold, is it still worthwhile to put time into this?

And is the lastdodo marketed sufficiently? Or will that still come?

Greetings, Mischa

I mainly sell books and comics, with over 500 items in my shop at the moment. Purely as a hobby, I receive no more than 10 orders a year. Recently for a few pricey books that have been in my shop for 10 years. So it is a matter of patience, but as a Pro seller you should also know that you will not make any sales with a store stock of 236 items. The more offer, the more people will find your shop.

Of course your success also depends on how sought after the items on offer are, whether they are offered more often, how attractive your prices are and whether items can be combined to save postage. For some objects it is really a “race to the bottom Because everyone wants to be the cheapest. I have not looked in your shop (I don't know anything about model trains) so that is a general observation.

Adding new items to the catalog yourself is labor-intensive, and you rarely earn that time back. If you sell stuff that is already there (and you don't add your own photos), the investment is still manageable.

But if you are working professionally, the answer to your question is simple: no, if you do not sell anything, it is not worthwhile to put in the time.

Hello,

You should assume that you are dealing with stiff Competition when selling on Selling Sites (there are also many Traders among them) especially if they are not Rare Objects as an extra Buy to Sell,

Difficult the prices are under strong pressure because, like me, many Collectors with Pension have been collecting all their lives, the Kinder and Grandchildren have no Interests, they are going to live smaller or the money is less than expected, they often sell below the Price

For example, I have collected from 1959 on a mountain of books of approx. 4000 pieces of comics, approx. 15,000, then Dinky, Gin, etc.

Selling on about 5 different Buying Sites with more or less success my last order with Cata/Dodo was a long time ago and it hasn't even paid yet my Shop is minimizing it

You just have to see it as a hobby if you don't really have to make a living from it. If there is a nice dinner or a day out now and then, that's nice and you have more room in the house ;-) I spend about 2 to 3 hours a day on it day into

Also often buy something from the proceeds, because I have focused on Franquin and then first printings in very good to new condition. the rest go away

The what do you sell that went well a while ago,

Penthouse, Playboy Men Only in English all gone

You used to get old cookbooks for a special book, sometimes for €80, now you can be happy if you get €10 for it

then Comics are below the price otherwise nothing and old Books before 1940 especially Detectives are still going well Modern books you see the Schlecht is almost nowhere to be discovered and the Postage costs scare off Book 1 € does not fit the bus Porto 6 € nobody buys

Good luck Peter

I agree in vision with the previous 2 experienced speakers. It doesn't matter where you put a collection for sale. Lastdodo shops, if collectors are hopefully used to the name instead of the trusted Catawiki, are also fun to view. Listing something at an internet auction (it's not supposed to advertise any company) and it's accepted by the auction always sells ... crazy enough. Whether the price will be to the satisfaction of a seller aside, but there are always bidders. In LD shops you can really find beautiful things in all sorts of areas, but I also don't hear anyone who says that it sells like a charm. Even though you have a huge range of booklets for 2, 3 or 5 euros. I don't think that the better marketing of LD will help. Old books or curiosities who are still looking for something, very few seekers and very many providers. Take a look at bookstores, I have (almost) to do with professionals with 20 30,000 books or more. 95% will go to waste paper in due course. In short, enjoy what you have and cherish an occasional satisfied buyer. Just on the way to Belgium for 1.50 a nice old children's book ....

Thanks everyone for the input! I really appreciate that information is provided in this way.

I hope the Lastdodo will be a success, and will still be here often.

Greetings, Mischa

jasperina ,

See the Sell item in FAQs

You look up the items to be sold in the catalog and then place them in your shop.

Please no searches on the forum.
The mentioned magazines can be found in the section Magazines. You can then add this to your search list per item, in accordance with what is stated at Search list.

It is indeed better intended as a hobby, sales have increased since CW became Last Dodo.
With the profit that one makes it is possible to buy new items for your own collection but don't expect too much, I think it's always amazing that a buyer comes to me. there are hundreds of thousands of offers. There are not many difficult buyers on Last Dodo which cannot be said of other sites. the auctions are more difficult for me because a minimum of 75 e has to be offered and many never reach that price at the auction, just my opinion. good luck to everyone.

Lastdodo is ideal for sale if you have some hard-to-find albums. With the search list of interested parties, sales are sometimes lightning fast. Also applies the other way around if a collector has already brought in some wanted albums. Oh well of course it's a hobby and having fun with it

Especially having the last fun in it. I am new myself and have yet to place my first sale. If I sell a few a year I'll be happy. I already did it through flea markets, and this is a nice addition. It's also just fun to catalog, buy and sell (comic) books as a hobby in addition to a normal paid job.

Lastdodo's webshop is very user-friendly, and I regularly buy and sell comic books. You have to look at it as a hobby and passion.

Be sure to read the information in the Frequently Asked Questions, Sales section.
You can also sell something in bulk, without a link to the catalog. But not from your collection to your shop.

Hello Anneke, viewed your collection, these DD are on the trunk, flea markets are sold for a maximum of 10 CT, usually 20 pieces for 1 €, it is not worth the effort to put it here in your shop, for example here Title combination offer: | Donald Duck Year 1985 - 52 pieces
Sales price: | €12.75
Condition: | Good state

I can't find an answer anywhere else, so here's my question. I have a seller who charges excessive shipping costs for 1 comic, in the same country of origin. What do you recommend me?

Edit: thank you for your feedback. I did indeed contact the seller and received feeback. The sale is cancelled.

Ead
It's up to you whether you want that comic or not.
If a seller charges excessively high shipping costs, he will sell little.

I've been making big losses on my shop here since you have to take out a subscription. But I see it more as a hobby and hobbies cost money.

It often depends on the difficulty of an album. In my shop with basic subscription no more than 15-20 items. Last week I sold 3 albums for 180 in 1 order. And it is from my own collection and is guaranteed to be in described condition.
Since releasing the €75, I have been looking to see if there is anything nice to offer. But I'm almost in stitches at the prices. Totally unrealistic if you know the market. And then complain about disappointing sales figures
